Chapter 1: The start of something new

"Get out of here you freak!", "You don't belong here", "Don't you dare come anymore closer". Those were the words that I remember when I was still a youngster. I have already accepted that a Dracula like me can never be accepted in this world. We are considered as monsters everywhere we go. When I was a kid I was always beaten by other kids and sometimes even throw rocks at me whenever they feel like it. I wanted to leave the town so bad but I cannot since I don't know how to survive in a place I have never been in.

One day, I was beaten again by those kids until I was knocked out. When I wake up, I can see the whole town burning and a lot of corpses near me, suddenly something caught my eye. It looks like the body of a human but it's face is different, it looks more like an ogre. The ogre looking being carried an axe full of blood and there I knew that it was the reason of the death of this villagers. As I tried to stand up, the ogre noticed me. I was terrified, I tried to stand up but I could not, my whole body is trembling in fear. The ogre walked to my spot and picked me up.

"Hmm, what is a Dracula doing in this village?" the ogre said.

"Balmond there you are, how dare you feed on these lowly humans without asking permission from the prince!" A voice from the dark alley spoke up.

"Alice! Well I got bored of just lying around doing nothing, so I decided to come up so I could do something exciting, but don't worry I'll come back the moment I kill this Dracula with this new axe that I got from the blacksmith in this town".

I trembled in fear and could not move any part of my body in order to at least try to escape from his grasp. Knowing that I can no longer escape, I closed my eyes and accepted that I will no longer live in this world. After a few seconds I heard the ogre scream so loud and let go of me. As I opened my eyes, I saw what appears to be a crystal white arrow pierced through the jaws of the ogre.

"RUN!!!" A voice echoed from the distance.

Without any hesitation I quickly got up my feet and started to run as fast as I could to get away from those monsters. I ran and ran until i could no longer move my legs again and decided to rest by a tree in the woods hoping that I lost the ones named balmond and alice. After a few minutes I heard the very same voice that told me to run.

"I am glad that you are safe, are you okay kid?". She asked

As I looked up, I saw a woman with a slim body and silver hair with pointy ears up on a tree branch.

"Yes, i'm okay and also thank you for saving me back there miss" I replied.

"The name's miya, and yours is?". She asked

"Umm, I don't have a name I mean I do not have any idea where I was born or who my parents are, all that I know is that I am a Dracula". I answered in a truthful tone

"Ahh, so you're a Dracula huh? I see, then how about I call you Steve? She asked as she jump down from the branch.

"Steve? Sounds okay for me." I told her

"Actually I have a better name for you! What about Alucard? It's just Dracula spelled backwards and it seems like a perfect name for you!"

"Alucard? I like the sound of that, okay miss miya you can call me Alucard" I said, feeling comforted by this girl.

"Please, remove the miss, you can just call me miya. Do you have anywhere to go? If you not then you could come to my hometown if you would like to"

"Yes please!" I was happy that I was going to be taken in by someone who isn't scared in me being a Dracula. I have this feeling that I can finally go to a place where Draculas are not hated. I felt my heart finally beat again after it stopped for such a long time.
