6 Starter Village 69,420

"Guild recruitment over here!"

"Looking for a party, come join ours!"

The sounds of players shouting about their different recruitments were almost drowned out by the idle chatter going on in the streets from the rest of the players and NPCs walking around.

The only reason Enzo knew some of them were NPCs was because they had normal names on their name tags.

Every player and NPC had a white name tag floating above their heads that showed their name and level.

The sea of bodies in the streets, and the loud noises that resembled a bustling city overwhelmed Enzo for a few seconds.

'Shit.'

He started to get dizzy and almost fell, but quickly picked himself back up.

All of his senses being assaulted so quickly made him feel overwhelmed and anxious.

Enzo quickly ran towards a random direction in search of a quiet place.

He found one after just a few seconds, in the form of an alleyway.

It was empty except for the garbage bins and trash littered on the ground.

Enzo leaned against the brick wall of one of the buildings and closed his eyes.

'1. 2. 3. 4…'

He counted to 10 in his head to calm down and regain his bearings.

After he finished counting, he took a deep breath and reopened his eyes.

'I'm ready.'

Enzo has always felt a lot of anxiety when starting something new, especially new video games.

He feels a strong sense of duty to be the best at whatever he does no matter what, so the thought of failing to be the best can become overwhelming sometimes.

He understood years ago that this was the result of being an orphan fighting for attention in a house full of other children that lacked attention. But, just because he understood where the problem came from, doesn't mean he could fix it.

After Enzo opened his eyes, he finally noticed the message that appeared once he got to the village.

[Welcome to Legends Reborn Online! You have been placed in Starter Village 69,420!]

Enzo dismissed the message and grinned at the number of his starter village.

'Nice.'

"Now, time to look around." He mumbled to himself.

He left the alleyway and rejoined the sea of players and NPCs that were on the streets.

The streets were made of stone and he looked to be in some type of medieval city.

It should have been a crime to call this place a village, it was huge.

There were stone and wood houses and shops lined all down the street.

There were alleyways here and there, but Enzo could barely see any space between most buildings.

The size of the buildings varied. Some of the buildings were one story, while some reached even three stories tall.

Enzo was currently standing near a large plaza that was connected to four roads that led in different directions.

The players that were recruiting others to their party or guild were standing on a large fountain in the middle of the plaza.

There were also some market stands occupied by NPCs.

He walked over to a stand that looked like a weapons stand.

The man sitting behind the stand looked very menacing at first glance. He had a long black beard and long black hair, brown eyes, bronze skin, and the trademark pointy ears of the Fae. He looked menacing because of the angry look on his face. Enzo ignored the look on his face and continued towards the man.

[Titles: Keep My Forge's Name Out of Your Mouth! Name: William Smith]

[Level: 21]

The man looked up at Enzo as he saw him approach and said politely, "Is there anything I can do for you sir?"

"Yes, I was wondering if there was a training hall or something of that sort in this village?"

Enzo knew that he would be an easy target for monsters if he didn't first figure out how to use a weapon, so he wanted to look for a place to practice.

"We do, I'll take you there, but only on one condition."

"What's the condition?"

"You must buy your first weapon from my shop when you earn enough money."

Ding!

[New Quest: Will Smith's Weapon Testing]

[Description: Will Smith used to be a renowned blacksmith. He lost his reputation after going on the stage and slapping a comedian who was performing at a blacksmith awards ceremony. He now cannot get any customers because of the incident, so he needs new ones. Fulfill William Smith's wish of having another customer and you will be rewarded.]

[Rewards: +100 Exp, ????, ?????]

"Pfffftttt."

Enzo almost couldn't hold back his laughter after reading the quest description. It was just too funny.

Although he didn't think it was nice of him to slap the comedian, as long as the comedian is okay he thinks it is something that could be laughed at.

[Will you accept the quest? Yes/No]

Enzo quickly chose yes.

He saw that there were a few hidden rewards in this quest, but even if there weren't, the experience reward was well worth it.

Enzo didn't know how much experience it would take to go from level 2 to 3, but right now to go from level 1 to 2 it took 100 experience points. So, this one quest was offering enough experience points for the current Enzo to level up.

William nodded in satisfaction after Enzo accepted the quest, and walked around his stall to shake Enzo's hand.

"Follow me." He then said.

William led Enzo down the road that faced the north side of the village.

It only took 10 minutes of walking before Enzo was able to see it.

There was a large open field with training dummies, training weapons, and a building off to the side.

Past the field were tall stone walls that surrounded a large mansion in the distance. Enzo assumed that would be the mayor's house or office.

'Ah, I forgot I don't have a weapon!' Enzo suddenly remembered.
