20 New Quest

Right after Mayor Dillon pressed the button, a bright light assaulted the inhabitants of the room.

"Ahh!"

"Shit!"

"What the fu-"

The group cried out in pain as they covered their eyes.

"Sorry about that." A beautiful female voice rang in Enzo's ears.

He ignored the headache that he now had and put his arm down.

Beside the sitting mayor, the goddess once again appeared in front of Enzo.

This was his second time seeing her, but the effects of her appearance were still the same as they were last time.

He was at a loss for words for a few seconds.

'It should be a crime to make a robot look that pretty.'

Even Pepper wasn't spared from the effects of Rhea's beauty.

She almost wanted to cry about how unfair life could be sometimes.

"Hello again Atlas." She said while looking at Enzo.

She then turned to Pepper, "And hello again to you as well Pepper."

"Hello."

"Hi."

The duo mumbled nervously to the goddess.

"Hehe." She giggled at them.

"Could you leave us for a little bit, Mayor Dillon?"

"Of course." He responded before standing up from his chair and leaving his office.

'Damn. Bro got kicked out of his own office.' Enzo thought to himself.

"First off, congratulations to you two for making it this far." Rhea said as she smiled at them.

"Only 13 other players have gotten to this point so far out of the 420 players that received the hint from me during their character creation."

"What hint?" Pepper interjected.

"During your character creation, do you remember when I asked if you had any questions for me?" Rhea asked her.

"Umm, yeah I think I do."

"Well, some players decided to ask if I could tell them anything about the Inheritances. The only thing I could give them was a hint: 'The Mayor'."

"Atlas was one of those people."

"Ohhhh, now it all makes sense. Good job Atlas." Pepper high fived Enzo.

"Haha, thanks."

"Back to what I was saying. You two are now the 14th and 15th players to reach this point. From here you will have a few options."

Enzo's eyebrows raised slightly in confusion, but he let Rhea continue.

"I will give you a quest if you would like to continue chasing after the Inheritances, but you must choose which bloodline you would like to chase now."

'Haha, that's too easy.'

Some players might be baffled at the thought of having to choose the inheritance they wanted to chase now as many would be indecisive.

There were just too many strengths and weaknesses to consider for each species, but Enzo already knew what species he wanted to pick.

He and Ivan put all of the available species on a wheel and spun it until it stopped on a stationary arrow.

The species the arrow stopped on was…

"Vampire. I would like to chase after the vampire inheritance." Enzo told Rhea.

"Perfect. There are five different clans or families within the vampire species. Your quest will guide you towards one of those five clans at random." Rhea told him.

Enzo nodded to indicate he understood.

"Pepper, is there a choice you have in mind?" Rhea asked.

"Ummm, well… I wasn't even planning to chase after an inheritance if I am being completely honest."

Enzo frowned and looked at her with sadness visible on his face.

Although they only knew it each for a very short time, Enzo felt their friendship was very natural. It was like they were a brother and sister who were meeting again after having not talked to each other in a while.

Those types of friendships are very rare to comeby and he knew it.

Most people you would have to warm up to and get to know better before you were able to become good friends with them.

But, on rare occasions one would find a friend that would cause them to feel as if they knew each other for a long time when they have not.

Pepper saw the expression on Enzo's face and felt kind of bad.

She felt the same way as he, and quickly started seeing him as a brother.

"I will go for the vampire bloodline as well." She then said to Rhea.

Enzo smiled at that.

"I will stick with you Atlas. We will most likely need reliable party members and friends in this game later on, so it doesn't make sense for us to part ways here when we are obviously good friends already and work very well together." She said with a smile.

"Agreed." Enzo replied.

Rhea smiled and clasped her hands together, "Great!".

Snap!

She then snapped her fingers very loudly.

Ding!

Pepper and Enzo looked down at the new quests that appeared in front of their faces.

[New Quest: The New Dracul]

[Description: Long ago, there was a man named Vlad Dracula. Vlad was born in Transylvania, but later became the prince of another land. He was also known as Vlad the Impaler. No one knows exactly why, except for Vlad himself, but one day Vlad was turned into a Vampire by the first Vampire himself, Lord Ruthven. Vlad went on to become one of the strongest Vampires to ever walk these lands, partially because of his special constitution. What Vlad didn't know before he requested Lord Ruthven to turn him is about his ancestry. Vlad was a descendant of the ancient dragon progenitor. His ancestry gave him many special powers that other Vampires didn't have. These powers were also passed onto his subordinates, making him one of the strongest Vampire Generals during his time. Sadly, Vlad was gravely injured by many silver weapons during one of the many wars he participated in. Luckily, his heart is preserved within a tomb of sorts. Retrieve the heart of Vlad the Impaler and use it in your own vampiric ritual to take on his powers and resurrect the Dracul Clan.]

[Time Limit: You have until the next blood moon.]

[Rewards: Vampirism]

Pepper received a very similar quest, but hers is for the Nosferati clan.

After reading the quest a few times Enzo asked Rhea, "How will I find his heart?"
