85 Much Easier Than Expected

Enzo's weapon was like a retractable bullet. It flew in between the eyes of a crab before being pulled back and throw through the legs of another, incapacitating it just as well as a stab in the eye would.

The rest of the group was faring just as well as Enzo was. All of them had adequate experience with their weapons by now, and they could be considered special amongst the players because of their innate talents with weapon handling and fighting in general.

15 minutes later, the last crab walked through the gates and was slain by one of the group.

Ding!

[The first wave has been completed. You have 1 hour before the second wave begins]

"Welp.

That was much easier than expected." Ivan said.

There was blood covering everyone's bodies, but none of it was theirs. So, while it may not have looked like it was easy because of the blood, it was in fact much easier than any of them would have thought.

Somehow, Enzo didn't feel tired at all from the first wave. He did need to catch his breath slightly, but his body didn't feel sore and he felt it wouldn't hurt to go for hours doing this.

One of the reasons the first wave was easier than expected was because of Jane's new skills. Her Reaper Fruit powers proved to be extremely efficient and helpful for crowd control.

The fruit gave her skills similar to the puppet master class, but with a slight twist.

Puppet masters usually have only a few specialized puppets that they use like autonomous dolls. Jane's Reaper Fruit powers were more akin to an actual necromancer. She could raise the crab monsters from the dead, at the same level they were before their death, to be used for a limited amount of time. The longest she was able to hold one of the undead was for 2 minutes, but she could raise as many of them as she wanted.

At least that's how it seemed at the moment.

The group was surprised once the next wave came. The second wave had the same crab monsters, and at the same level. There were just more crab monsters this time around. The third wave was similar, except the level of the crab monsters was 13 this time.

The levels didn't change again until the seventh wave, when the levels were bumped up to 15.

Each wave went by faster and faster, and the group found themselves thinking the whole challenge was just a little bit too easy for them.

Some of them became bored and felt the challenge was just too tedious, but not Enzo. Enzo felt elated once he noticed how many experience points he was receiving from the crabs.

Near the end of the ninth wave, Enzo even leveled up!

Ding!

[You have leveled up! Level 14 ->15]

Enzo quickly put his two stat points into strength.

Now, for the first time since the game came out, Enzo had a higher strength stat point than his agility. It was only by one point, but the difference was still there. He planned on keeping a more balanced stat build for as long as he could, so the next two points would go into agility.

The wave challenge only got difficult once the tenth wave arrived.

Ding!

[The tenth and final wave has begun]

BOOM!

Instantly, the ground started to shake and rumble.

Standing in front of the drawbridge was a giant crab monster.

[Giant Mutated Crab (Boss)]

[Level 18]

[HP: 20,000/20,000]

This crab looked the same as the other mutated crabs, but was almost 15 feet tall.

Enzo immediately started barking out orders, as he had done previously.

"Cereal and Ivar, play as tanks! Hephaestus, Eevie and I will play main attackers! Pepper and Prometheus help the main attack team with hit and run tactics! Store Clerk, play support as usual, but focus more on the tanks!"

Enzo could tell that everyone in the group were skilled gamers, so there was no reason to further explain terms like "tank" to them. This helped tremendously because they were running on limited time as the crab was approaching quickly.

The group followed Enzo as he backed up to allow room for the crab to enter the courtyard.

Boom!

The walls were too small for the crab to go through, so it just walked right through them…

Once it was through the walls and had stepped into the courtyard, Enzo and friends charged the crab.

Kenny and Vincent ran to the front of the crab to focus on its pincers. Their job in this fight was to distract the monster and make sure it didn't attack the rest of the members. The best way to do that was to take away its strongest way of attack, the pincers.

Enzo watched as the monster brought its heavy arms down on their swords. They took the attacks head on, without taking any damage, something that no one else in the group would have had a high enough strength stat to do.

Enzo put away his kyoketsu-shoge as he ran and unsheathed his katana.

He ran to the back left side of the crab and started attacking the legs.

-300

-200

Two slashes in, and the crab didn't react kindly to Enzo's attacks.

The beast started lifting up its legs and trying to smash Enzo with them.

Enzo tucked and rolled under the legs and to the underbelly of the monster.

Boom!

The ground rumbled as the leg came down.

It was like the crab had eyes in the back of its head, because the leg struck down right where Enzo was just a second ago.

-150

He slashed the leg again before running out from under the monster.

The monster was much faster than any other monster Enzo had ever seen, so he wasn't going to risk standing under its extremely large body.

-300

He stabbed his katana through the leg where the joints met before pulling it back out and dodging a leg stomp again.

I may have to lower the daily chapters to one chapter a day instead of two. I will be starting a job soon so I don't know how much time I'll have to write, but I will still make sure there's at least one chapter put out a day.
