Monster Slayer

Rhea then started explaining the stats screen to Enzo as he read through it.

"Your stats are a reflection of your real life body." She said.

"The minimum starting stats in each category is 1, the maximum is 5. If you have a 3 in a category it means you are average, if you have a 1 it means you are the worst of the worst, and if you have a 5 it means you are in the top one percent."

"Now onto your species. Every player starts off as a part of the Fae race. Once we get into the character customization you will see the racial traits of the Fae."

"For your class and subclass, here is the list of available options."

Enzo heard the ring of a bell before the holographic screens popped into his line of vision.

"I can go through each class and explain the benefits if you would like me to. If not, then you will be able to choose your class right now and your subclass will be chosen at level 10."

"I would like to choose the Monster Slayer class." Enzo said without hesitation.

He and Ivan already read the benefits of each class in the article released by Extant Company, so he knew what class he was going to choose.

"Great! Monster Slayers receive the two starter skills Insight and Predator's Mark. You will also get 50 points in mana to start. For reference, Mage type classes receive somewhere between 150 and 200 mana points, while classes like Knight will only receive 10."

"The starter skills will appear on your skills list. If you focus on them, you will see a description of each skill.

Enzo then focused on the Insight skill.

[Insight (Rank 1: 0/1000):]

[The insight skill allows the player to see the weaknesses of monsters they recognize as enemies.]

"The numbers you see beside the name of the skill are the experience points of the skill. You can assign percentages of your experience to go to specific skills, or to all go towards your level. In order to change this, just think 'Experience' and a new menu will pop up." Rhea told Enzo.

[Experience Assignment:]

[Player: 100%]

[Skills: 0%]

'Interesting. I didn't think there would be a mechanic like this.'

"Once you rank up a skill, it will gain better effects, lower cooldown times, and other things like that."

Enzo then went back to his menu to look at the other skill he received.

[Predator's Mark (Rank 1: 0/1000):]

[Predator's Mark allows the user to mark any monster, animal, or player as their prey. Once their prey is marked, they will not lose them until they are killed. Must be within 10 feet and be able to see the target to mark them.]

[+5% damage to anything marked as prey.]

Enzo smiled after reading this description. The description was almost identical to the one in the article, but the article didn't say anything about the 5% damage increase.

The skill was already amazing, but the damage increase made it many times better.

"Now that all of that is out of the way, let's get to your actual character."

Rhea snapped her fingers and a large mirror appeared beside the table.

"All players start off as a member of the Fae race, so you will see their racial traits in the look of your character."

Enzo could see the long pointy ears that were now peaking through his black hair.

"The only things you can change are your hair color and eye color. Would you like to change either of those?"

"Why can I only change those things?" Enzo asked curiously.

"It would be very stressful and weird on the brain of the player to switch between reality and this world with different physical features. It could also lead to depression because the player doesn't look how they do in the game, in real life."

"Ah, that makes sense. Well, I would like to change my eye color to red, but that is it."

Snap!

Rhea snapped her fingers again and Enzo's eye color changed.

His eyes were changed to a beautiful crimson red color.

"Is that all?"

"Yes."

"Good. Now for the final bit before I send you off. You will be placed in a random starter village. There will be a lot of quests and other opportunities in the village."

She winked as she said opportunities.

"You will only be able to leave the village and the surrounding area once you reach level 10. That is when the tutorial dungeon will become available. As you reside in the North American region of the world, you will be placed in the Kingdom of Kular, once you leave the starter village."

"Do you have any other questions?"

Enzo was about to say no, but decided to take his chances with a question.

"Actually, yes. Is there anything you can tell me about how to find the Inheritances in the game?"

Rhea smiled after hearing his question.

"It may sound like a lot to you, but you are only the 127th player smart enough to ask me a question so far."

"There is only one hint I was given permission to give the players if they were to ask about inheritances. The hint is: the mayor."

"Any other questions?"

"No, that is all. Thank you."

"You are quite welcome Atlas. I hope you enjoy this new world."

Snap!

Rhea snapped her fingers and another bright light assaulted Enzo's vision.

When his vision cleared, he was in a completely different place and many sounds assaulted his ears all at once.

There will be an auxiliary chapter listing all of the different classes and subclasses and a basic description of each. If you would like to see them all then go read it as I will probably not show them all at once in a singular chapter.
