Enzo at first believed he knew how the experience system worked, but now he was confused.

"How much experience did you get from each of them?" Enzo asked Pepper.

"I got 500 from the level 4, 10 from the level 3, and 1 from each level 2."

"Okay, I got the same, but that doesn't make any sense."

"Yeah, I was very confused as well."

"Wait, it may be because we leveled up mid fight. We got so much from the level 4 because it was killed when we were level 2, but every other kill was when we were level 3."

"Ahh, that makes sense." Pepper responded.

"Anyway, I'll loot the rabbits now." Enzo went towards the level 4's corpse and looted it the same way he did with the wild boar.

Ding!

[You have looted:]

[+1 Rabbit Fur]

[+2 silver coins]

He then went to the level 3 rabbit and repeated the process.

Ding!

[You have looted:]

[+1 Rabbit Fur]

[+50 bronze coins]

The level 2 rabbits all gave the same loot.

Ding!

[You have looted:]

[+1 Rabbit Fur]

[+5 bronze coins]

Enzo gave Pepper the level 4 rabbit fur and 1 of the level 2's, 33 bronze coins, and 1 silver coin.

"Let's rest for a bit, I think my low stamina is starting to catch up with me." Enzo said.

"Okay."

They sat down with their backs to the nearby trees and started to regain their breath.

Enzo decided to look at the forums while they waited, because he hadn't seen them yet.

Enzo started scrolling through the different posts from players, but most of them were saying similar things.

[IHaveSTDs39:

[MercanaryMan:

@ExtantCompany it is way too hard to kill monsters just 1 level above you, could you guys make it easier to get kills? At this rate it will take weeks just to be able to leave the tutorial area.]

"Huh?"

Enzo couldn't believe his eyes.

How could anyone be having issues with these monsters? If anything he believed they were too easy to kill.

He and just one other person were able to easily kill a monster that was 2 levels above them at the time, not to mention the fact that this monster was traveling with other monsters as well.

"Pepper, go check out the forums. I can't believe my eyes right now."

She opened her forums as well, and after a few minutes she had the same expression as Enzo.

"Um, Atlas, what's going on?"

"I'm just as confused as you are."

What Pepper and Enzo failed to realize was that they were some of the only people to visit the training area in their whole starter village.

If only a few people were seen visiting their starter villages training area, then why would the situation be any different in the other villages?

Many players were arrogantly running into the forest and hunting down monsters as the first activity after loading into the game.

This was incredibly stupid, as not only did they have no experience with this new game, but many players also had no real life experience with weapons.

The players were learning as they played on how to handle weapons.

Many of them were using them completely wrong or were very clumsy in their actions, and Pepper and Enzo were no exception to this.

The difference was that both of them spent the time getting used to their weapons at least a little bit before charging into danger.

They were able to handle themselves and their weapons without missing a strike or accidentally injuring themselves like any others were doing.

Another factor that contributed to their easy hunting was their stat distribution.

Most players were trying to balance out all of their stats instead of focusing on just a few at a time.

Enzo only put 1 of his stats into something that wasn't agility.

He started off at a disadvantage from other players with his low agility stat, but now he was much faster than anyone else because that's all he focused on.

Lastly, there are only a few classes in the game that offer a bow as a weapon, and Enzo happened to choose one of them.

Having a ranged weapon offered a lot of versatility and opportunities if the player knew how to use it.

All of these things factored in made it incredibly easy for Enzo and Pepper to fight monsters even 2 levels above them.

They will definitely have more and more trouble as they level up to do similar things, and they both knew it, but for right now it almost felt too easy.

"Sigh, if they make it any easier it will be boring." Enzo complained.

"Agreed." Pepper said.

After 15 or so minutes of resting, Enzo and Pepper were ready to go again.

Enzo grabbed his arrows off the ground and stuffed them back into his quiver before following after Pepper.

The duo hunted all the way until their time was up in the game.

Ding!

[You only have 30 minutes left before you are forcibly kicked out of the game. It is recommended to leave in a safe area before then.]

"Aw man."

Enzo was having a lot of fun, so he was disappointed.

"I feel you haha. It's okay though, we only have to wait 4 hours before we can come back. Let's go to the gates and then log out." Pepper said.

They ran back in the direction of the gates to beat the countdown.

Enzo thought about their spoils of the day as they traveled.

They were able to find one more level 4 monster in the form of another boar, but it only gave 100 exp this time.

They were also able to kill 15 other monsters, all level 3.

Each level 3 kill gave them 10 exp.

Enzo was mostly disappointed because they only needed 20 more experience points before they could level up.

The duo was also able to secure another silver coin and 100 bronze coins each.
