Dungeon of the Vengeful (4)

Another surprise about the post is that it came from the number one ranked player on the leaderboards currently.

[Predator:

@JuliaGreen @ExtantCo Why can only a few classes and subclass loot monsters automatically? I didn't find this out until one of my teammates started doing it, but certain classes gain coins and other things from looting monsters. Other classes can only get the skin from the monster and we have to do it manually. Why is that?]

Enzo found out about this cool feature of his class soon after the game started because Julia couldn't loot the monsters but he could, so he wasn't surprised at all about this post. It was bound to happen at some point, he just had to wait for the rest of the players to figure it out and based on the replies to this post they knew for a while as well. It's just that the post by Predator exposed the feature to the rest of the people who didn't know and gave an outlet for the people who were upset about it to voice their opinions.

Even another player from the top ten got in on the conversation.

-[Moonwalker:

Yeah it's kind of ridiculous. These classes get an advantage that may not look like much now, but it will be game breaking later on. They should really fix this.]

Moonwalker is currently at the number ten spot on the leaderboards, so it was a big deal that not one, but two top rankers were talking about this problem.

However, in standard Julia Green fashion, instead of explaining why this feature was added, why it wasn't an issue, or even that they were fixing it Julia Green responded in a way most didn't expect.

-[Julia Green:

The classes that can use the looting feature: Warrior, Fighter, Thief, Bandit, Monster Slayer, Swarm Keeper, Beast Master, and Trapper.]

This response reminded many of how Julia handled the incident when players were complaining about how hard it was to level up and kill monsters.

Obviously, most players weren't going to be happy about this. There were many who were bashing both Julia and Extant under her response, but neither she nor any of the top ten players decided to respond to the thread anymore.

Enzo dismissed the forums screen and stood up after reading a few more responses. He was still slightly tired, but felt otherwise rejuvenated after taking a few minutes to rest.

He walked through the opening in the corridor finally and arrived in the next room of the dungeon.

Enzo walked forward slowly to hopefully activate whatever mechanism would summon the next wave of monsters.

As he was walking he pulled out his katana.

After only a few feet the first monster showed itself.

From his right side, a skeleton assembled itself from the bones stuck in the wall and started walking towards Enzo.

[Skeleton Warrior]

[Level 11]

[HP: 1,000]

The skeleton carried a cutlass and wore a pirate hat on its skull.

The creature was just as slow as the zombies, so Enzo wasn't really afraid of it like other players might be.

Enzo activated his Monster Slayer skills and started looking for the weak spot.

It was located in the middle of the chest, or rib cage rather, of the skeleton where a dull, blue gem sat.

Enzo ran towards the skeleton with his katana pointed towards the gem.

He would have used his bow again if he had any arrows left, but sadly they were all lost on the Zombie Leader.

He stabbed his katana towards the gem once he got close enough, but the skeleton ended up being much faster than he originally thought.

The creature brought its sword up and knocked Enzo's katana away.

'Shit!' Enzo screamed in his head.

It took him completely off guard, and if the skeleton was any smarter Enzo could have easily been killed just then.

"Good thing I'm facing monsters with little to no intelligence." Enzo grumbled.

It was true that both skeletons and zombies lacked intelligence, because either their brains are jumbled or they just don't have one in the first place.

Enzo brought his katana back around towards the skeleton, and it moved to block the katana once again.

However, Enzo was performing a feint move. He stopped his katana before it hit the cutlass and maneuvered it around the cutlass before stabbing at the skeleton's gem before it could stop the katana.

The skeleton crumbled to the ground and its bones split apart again.

Enzo got a decent amount of experience points from the monster because it was a level higher than him.

He then turned to where he assumed the next skeletons would be located, and he was correct.

There were three new skeletons now surrounding Enzo in a half circle.

"Sigh. Fight me one on one like real men!" Enzo shouted.

The skeletons looked at each other for a second before shrugging their shoulders.

One of the skeletons then stepped forward with its cutlass raised.

"..."

'There is no possible way that worked. You're not even men, you're just bones!'

Enzo readied his own weapon as well and faced the skeleton that stepped up.

Once Enzo readied his katana, the skeleton swung its cutlass towards Enzo's torso.

Enzo brought his katana up vertically and parried away the cutlass, causing the skeleton to stumble away a little bit.

Enzo quickly stabbed his katana through the blue gem and killed it.

The skeleton crumbled apart just like its friend did a few seconds ago.

Enzo then turned to the other two remaining skeletons.

The two skeletons were now five skeletons as three more had come alive during his previous fight.

Even though the creatures didn't have eyes, lips, or anything that could indicate their emotions Enzo could tell they were mad.

"No more one on ones?" He asked.

The skeletons gave their answer by charging at Enzo all at once.
