"Inside each of the 3 different pokeballs are 3 different pokemon," Professor Elm put the tray on the table. "Which one do you choose?"

Was it Liam that stepped up and chose first? Alex never bothered to try and remember the names of the newcomers, all he knew was that they were skilled enough to pass Professor Elm's test. The teen chose the one in the middle. As he pressed the button in the center of the pokeball, a white light appeared, and slowly died down to take the shape of a Elekid.

"This year, since the Kalosian Professor and a good friend of mine, Augustine Sycamore needed to study the 3 Johtean traditional starters for signs of Mega Evolution in their final evolved form." the Professor gestured to the Elekid "These pokemon however, are just as powerful as the traditional starters."

I went next, and I chose the pokeball on the left, and pressed the button. Again, a bright light appeared briefly before it died down and revealed a Horsea.

The girl on my left pressed the button on the last pokeball, and she got a Magby.

"Here, take these potions, they will help you during your journey." the Professor handed us each 5 potions." He also handed us each 5 pokeballs.

Just then, Professor Elm gets a email from his computer. "It appears Mr. Pokemon has found something he wants to show me, can one of you pick it up for me?"

I was intrigued, so I raised my hand, "Can I?"

"Sure! Mr. Professor's house is on Route 30, which is north of Cherrygrove City. Also, here's my phone number." I give him my Pokegear and he types in his contact.

I quickly check Horsea's status, and learn that his moves are Water Gun, and Leer.

"Its time to get going, explore the outside world and where goals and dreams begin!"

My Horsea sat on my shoulder as I walked on the winding Route 29. After about 30 minutes, I decided to ask my pokemon a question. "Do you want a nickname?" I asked

The Horsea thought for a moment, before shaking its head

Pidgey, Ratata, and Sentret were no match for Horsea, all it took was one or two water gun's to knock them out. It gave Horsea's battle experience a boost and his attacks were slightly stronger than before.

After walking for awhile, I found a potion lying on the grass. Since no one was in sight, I picked it up and kept walking.

Later, I met a guy called Tuscany, and he gave a Twisted Spoon. Neat I guess.
