Event

I am a full dive player, which means that I never log out of the game. Everyone playing this particular war-game is in the same boat, though most people can actually walk when they log out. You are only required to "sleep" in the game for one hour every day. One hour is equivalent to a full nights rest.

I woke up feeling rested in the Inn where I purchased a room. As soon as I walked out I ran into Legend, who was waiting for me. There was also a man with a black cloak and hood standing beside him.

"Myth! I didn't think you would ever wake up! C'mon we have to hurry if we are going to make the event. Bloom is waiting for us at the portal. By the way this is our new group member, Phantasmal. He is a shadow priest." Legend said as he pulled me down the street.

"It's nice to meet you, Phantasmal. What event! Hey! Wait!" I replied as Legend turned and started running.

"A PVP event! The moon elves are mounting a counter-attack. Hurry! We are gonna miss it!" Legend yelled over his shoulder.

A minute later I was standing before a glowing blue portal surrounded by players and NPC's . Bloom had given me a quick update once I had arrived. The Storm-Shield Guild is going to be at the event, so everyone would have to play nice. Bloom had also tried to turn in her leaf vouchers, but the store wouldn't be open until after the PVP event. The game designers made it that way, so neither side would gain an advantage.

I notice a window that allows me to view the stats of my teammates along with their abilities. I pull up Phantasmal's information.

Abilities-

{Dark Miasma}- Thrown Ball of dark energy sticks to target dealing damage over time.

{Life Scourge}- Erupts all of the dark miasmas within ten feet, transfers life gained to target of choice. 20 sec cooldown.

{Life drain}- drains life unto self through green beam of energy. Drains life equal to magic power.

{Blood sacrifice} - Sacrifices own life force to heal a target. Zero cooldown, instant cast.

{Life shield}- will convert 10% of damage taken into life. 5 sec cooldown.

I didn't see what the big deal with the event was at first, until bloom explained it to me. My father is an important guy, so my contract doesn't require me to participate in any PVP events. The others have contracts with the country of Gigan that require them to participate until they have lost so many lives. The better they do, the more they will get paid at the end if the war is won. If you have a terrible contract you will be considered "fodder", like Legend, Phantasmal, and InfiniteBloom. This means it is mandatory for them to participate and continue to fight until every life is lost or until the commander declares a retreat. If you lose all of your lives, you are out of the war which violates the contract, nullifying the reward. The better your contract, the less you have to risk your life.

I wonder who the commander will be...

I didn't have to ponder long.

Ding!

The Commander for this event will be Tower from the Storm-Shield Guild.

Bloom had told me that the NPC's were only able to create the portals because we had purified the corruption, so I knew he wouldn't dare touch us. As the Moon Goddesses chosen warriors, we were placed at the very front of the invading force.

Moments after the announcement, Tower walked up to the portal with a very important looking Moon Elf NPC. As he moved past us he quietly said. "Don't mess this up. "

He glared at Legend who just smiled at him, saying nothing.

Tower raised his sword and yelled out, "Lets Go!" as he entered the portal.

Ding!

You Commander has signaled the advance.

We rushed forward, entering the portal. The world shifted as we teleported across the planet. Half of the planet is covered in perpetual moon-light, and the other is ever doused in never changing Sun-light. We were attacking a small Human town on the Sun-side, named Harpke. We had 200 players and NPC's in our raid unit.

We appeared through the portal, and took a moment to get our eyes adjusted to the sunlight. There was a wall of enemies waiting for us outside of the town, blocking our entrance.

"CHARGE! Archers! " Tower yelled. A great cheer erupted as we charged forward.

I shifted into Draconic Wolf-Form and dashed ahead as InfiniteBloom cast her speed buff on me.

Ding!

Your speed has increased by 200% for 30 seconds.

Both sides began attacking with ranged attacks as the Melee users closed the gap. Arrows began to fly by my head. Fire, ice, and lightning spells flew every direction. The battlefield quickly became chaotic.

Ding!

An arrow struck me, but I kept moving.

Bloom was beside me, and she quickly healed me back to full health.

Legend threw a fireball which destroyed a mass of players with one hit.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

As we progressed, Legend racked up the kills, gaining more than 15 in less than 10 seconds. I was hit by numerous attacks, but bloom kept my health from going down. I was the first of the Melee attackers to arrive. I used shadow-shift to appear behind enemy lines, and activated howl.

My howl stunned those around me and sent many running in fear.

I attacked the nearest one with a bite.
