58 The Dimensional Void

After walking through the portal, Pete found himself walking on a seven-foot-wide path of light. There was nothing beneath or around it. It was a scintillating, meandering road over a sea of darkness. The light seemed to splatter and sprinkle as the boy stepped over it.

"What is this place?" Pete asked his new guides. "Where is it taking us?"

Ahead of him walked Rodrick and Raya, who had introduced themselves as members of a group called the 'Legendary Hero Council'. It was a tacky name, but Pete was considerate enough not to ridicule them about it. After all, they had answers to the critical question of his surprising and mysterious powers.

"We are walking across dimensions as we speak," Rodrick explained, looking ahead. "Consider it a shortcut."

"Alright," Pete muttered, unsatisfied with the answer. "Let me rephrase my question. WHAT is our destination?"

"The council is housed at the junction of dimensions, a place called Yggia."
