Battle Pods (II)

Seunghyuk smiled as he looked at the friend request sent in by Taejin, the bronze-ranked member in Legendclad that he just fought with, and accepted it without hesitation. Seunghyuk never really expected to see such a well-mannered Conqueror in the lower ranks, even under Kim Seongwon as well, so out of favour for Taejin, Seunghyuk simply accepted it.

Seunghyuk's next battle came rather quickly, and his fire-like excitement was similarly doused rather quickly by the bad attitudes of his next two battles with two separate bronze-ranked members. One of them was simply rude and cocky, calling names and insulting like it was a language of his own, another one was just a huge sore loser, giving millions and millions of excuses to try and convince Seunghyuk and the audiences watching online that he lost on purpose.

"Okay, I'm wrong. Taejin's just an exception, the rest of the bronze-ranked members under the company are people who look down on new members, people with lower stats than them, and are just plainly rude. These are the beasts Kim Seongwon raised?" Seunghyuk's brows furrowed angrily as he called out," System: Open Mission Page."

"Mission II: Battle Pod, Better Than Not

Seunghyuk opened the Beginner Statpack and waited for the specific moment. Seunghyuk waited for a good two seconds before binary codes rush out and dash all around the System screen, together with many more Ancient letters.

"Due to ??? Ring Of ??? being equipped, the Beginner Statpack has been upgraded and you received the following:

Strength stat point (3)

Agility stat point (3)

Defense stat point (3)

MP stat point (3)"

"Well, System: Can I upgrade my stats in the Battle space in Battle Pods?" Seunghyuk asked the System and the System replied with the usual monotoned voice, "Yes, it is better to upgrade stats and level up in areas like the Battle space as you would not destroy objects around you in real life."

"That's good," Seunghyuk said simply and sat down on the floor of the Battle space, then called for the System, "System: Use all the 12 stats."

Seunghyuk was assured that his body would not change any further due to the locking of his body physique earlier on. Currently, Seunghyuk was already pretty much used to the intense heating around his abdomen. The levelling-up process was completed rather quickly and Seunghyuk stood up gradually, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

With slightly higher stats, Seunghyuk was confident enough to continue engaging in more battles with the Battle Pod. He definitely would not want to pass up on the chance to get rewards by winning matches here.

"Let's do it..." Seunghyuk said with determination under his breath and the next contestant materialised right in front of his eyes, "System: Use Eye of Detection."

Seunghyuk processed the information he was given, then he simply prepared himself for the upcoming battle.

"Hey, how about you just give up and disconnect?" The silver-ranked member, Jung Jaewook, sneered at Seunghyuk and gave a mocking thumbs down but Seunghyuk just raised an eyebrow, rushing forward, "Well, looks like you're not going to learn until you get a beating, aren't you? I'm not the best Silver-ranked member of ConcCube for nothing!"

"It's not ConcCube anymore," Seunghyuk said and the Silver-ranked member frowned in confusion.

Seunghyuk took the chance and hopped forward with his leg extended as he kicked the cocky Silver-ranked hard in his chest. The poor member tried to catch Seunghyuk's foot but he was drove backwards by the strong force.

"What the hell! I don't know what you're saying about ConcCube but you're really asking for it!" Jung Jaewook got infuriated and ran towards Seunghyuk, and in the meantime, he split himself into three, two identical copies of him running alongside him as he shuffled his positions with his clones, "Now, let's see if you can kick me! Hahaha!"

The mouths of all the three opened and spoke, the layered voices sounded loudly but Seunghyuk merely dashed to the side and used the Eye of Detection.

"Extreme left..." Seunghyuk told himself softly under his own breath and intentionally used his right leg again to kick the member, sending the real Jung Jaewook flying backwards and the two clones disappearing, "Whoop, looks like I really did it..."

Jaewook's face scrunched up uglily in anger as he dashed forward, surpassing his limits as he split himself into 8 identical copies dashing at Seunghyuk. Seunghyuk simply used the Eye of Detection again and spotted the red, human signal on the 3rd body of Jaewook from the left, then he swung his leg hard on Jaewook's head. The other 7 clones disappeared once again and Jaewook sat on the floor screaming in agony and annoyance.

"I'm telling you I don't rely on luck," Seunghyuk conjured a ball of fire in his hands and willed it to swirl in his palms before sending it out to the poor figure sitting on the ground, "That's 2 MP gone."

Seunghyuk's swirling fireball dashed at a wind-breaking speed as it but when he hit Jaewook's body, it bounced off harmlessly. Seunghyuk's mouth opened slightly as he immediately used the Eye of Detection on the currently smirking Jaewook.

Seunghyuk saw the stats of Jaewook's Defense and immediately stopped his actions. Jaewook's Defense stat has doubled, and it is due to his skill Reinforced Skin. However, since it was only 0 out of 5 stars mastered, it should only last a few minutes. Obviously, Seunghyuk should just tire Jaewook out until the impermeable defense runs out eventually, but Seunghyuk wanted to wipe that smirk off Jaewook's face so bad that he wanted to break through his 18-point Defense.

"Let's teach you a character building lesson, Mr. Jung Jaewook," Seunghyuk voiced out intimidatingly as he walked towards Jaewook with his stats raised by using Short-Fused Explosion.

"Teach me a lesson? How?" Jaewook laughed at Seunghyuk mockingly as he presented his body with reinforced skin to Seunghyuk which Seunghyuk smiled and said, "Thank you."

Seunghyuk used another 2 Mana Points to summon fire on his legs and he boosted forward up into the air and when he got onto Jaewook's head level, he swiped his right leg with burning fire across Jaewook's head.

"Well that didn't hurt at all..." Seunghyuk continued to rotate his lower hip movements to swing both his legs around like orbiting axes, hacking down his body and when he reached Jaewook's lower legs, he stabilised himself and jumped backwards, taking the chance to conjure a fire tornado that slowly grows in size between both his palms, "Well, not that your tornado would hurt me anyway!"

Jaewook confidently dashed forward, casting a huge amount of wind to boost his speed with his skill Strong Gust but Seunghyuk released the furious swirling tornado of ember and Jaewook's body was blasted back exaggeratingly with a huge cracking sound.

"AHHHHH!" Jaewook screamed as he spreaded eagle on the floor, struggling to stand up but his injuries did not allow it, "But...how? I had really high defense..."

"Well I had really high Strength too, boosted by my really high Agility, and really high MP, that made up for the great stat point difference," Seunghyuk obviously did not say anything about his so-called ability of having a higher stat power than what is actually shown, "Your cockiness will be your downfall."

Seunghyuk immediately exited the Battle space before Jaewook would yap about how he was supposed to win and all that, but, when Seunghyuk opened his eyes, he came face-to-face with Yumi's face pressed onto the glass door, then he quickly hit the side button to allow the door to slide open.

"Erm...Is there a problem I need to settle?" Seunghyuk asked warily as he exited the Battle Pod.

"YES! YOUR BREAKFAST!" Yumi screamed in Seunghyuk's ears and Seunghyuk just sighed.
