Prologue

Long ago, demons invaded the mortal realm, threatening to kill off humanity. What soon followed was a battle that shook the world, the humans had no way to counter the demonic magic that the demons utilised, when all seemed lost, a light of hope shone over the horizon, as the beings called Demon Hunters appeared.

They were super humans, managing to battle on equal footing with the most fearsome demons. Some of them fought with martial arts, others with magic and in some special cases, some would fight with powerful weapons that could destroyed even the hardest landscapes. It looked like humanity had a chance of survival, until the king of humanity betrayed his kind and formed a deal with the demons, in exchange for power, the demons were to rule over humanity and Demon Hunters were to be killed.

The Demon Hunters tried one last time to rid the world of the vile demons. The demons had the assistance of the king's forces which made the battle the battle all the more difficult for the Demon Hunters, the battle lasted four fortnights and ended with the complete annihilation of the Demon Hunters.

The great battle was since then known as the Battle of Black hill. Since that day the five great demon kings vowed that no Demon Hunter would exist as long as the demons ruled.

Two hundred years later, a young man with a deep black cloak appeared in Zushi, the capital of the Empire. This young man is one of the Tenth generation Demon Hunters, Ryke Zeren.
