Childhood

In my very first two years of life upon this new world i spent most of my time sleeping, i am a baby after all, and even though i try to do strength excersizes, it doesnt seem to do very much. My stats really haven't changed. However i have been collecting information. It seems im in some sort of medieval world. My mother is a receptionist at the local warrior guild. My father is in a similar profession, he is a warrior. I've found out that he is strong, he is the within the top ten percent of the local guild. He actually met my mother at the guild, apparently wooing her with his good looks (supposedly) and his manly charm (supposedly). I've also found out something key. Our town has a blacksmith! I haven't been able to see him, but according to what father has been saying it seems that he is a well renowned smith. He is known for making knives and swords. This is perfect, exactly what I've been looking for.

"Sweetie." mom asked.

"Yes Mom?" I replied.

"Stop staring at the wall its creepy, your doing some sort of dead pan. I don't like it very much."

"Ok Mom." I agreed.

Why I talk like this well, I've already nailed down perfect speech. Some might try to hide their intelligence, however for me its too much of a hassle to hide my intelligence. I simply don't feel like it.

"Mom, could you get a tutor for me. I would like to learn more about this wonderful world." I asked.

"Ohh sweetie I think your a little to you for that." She replied.

"Mom, i'm ready, please!" I begged.

"Fine, if you think your ready. We can't afford a tutor so i'll see if we can send you to school. Honestly we've been waiting for you to ask. We've gone and found Niko's father. He is a wealthy man and he has gotten a recommendation for you to go to school." Mom replied seriously.

"Really can I!" I said.

"If you wait eight years." Mom replied.

"Are you serious. You tricked me!" I said angrily.

"Your simply not old enough. I'm so sorry. Instead, we are going to have your Father help you get stronger. For your wanting of world knowledge i will assist you. When you turn ten you can apply to whatever school or apprenticeship you want."

"Fine, I suppose that is okay." I said with a pout.

In reality this was perfect, because I had the body of a two year old. Although I was small in all aspects I believe that a few years of strength training, and learning of this worlds customs would do me well. In three years time i will be a whole new man (boy). However, this current boy is ready for his afternoon nap.

From that day on I would wake up everyday very early in the morning, to train with my father. At lunch he would take me to the guild and mom would teach me about the world when she wasn't helping an adventurer. I learned we live on a continent called Trea, and we live in a large empire known as the Nomar empire. The place we live is a small sized city with thirty thousand residents. Among other things i've learned common sense.

So this continued, and the days blurred into months, the months into years, soon it was a month before my tenth birthday. Today mom told me to go the tailors to pick up my clothes for my baptism, im getting super pumped up!

*Tink* *Tink*

Huh what's that noise.

*Tink* *Tink*

Where is it coming from. Out of the corner of my eye I see flames. I quickly flip around and look through a hole in a wall to see an older man wailing on red hot metal. Arc after arc, he hits the metal. It's the most majestic thing i had ever seen. I look on in awe. I just stare. By the time he's done I realized that it's already night. His finished product is beautiful, he has forged it almost to completion, his weapons profile is amazing. I'm breathing loudly, contemplating what I saw. While i'm standing there I exhale loudly, exasperated.

"Who is there!" The smith yells.

I quickly run away as fast as I can, the smith however thinking i'm a thief he chases after me. Eventually he catches me and scooped me up.

He asks, "Thief, hand over what you've taken!"

"Sir I didn't take anything check me, all I was doing was watching what you were doing." I replied with haste.

The smith quickly searches me before saying, "Why were you watching me?"

I reply, "It was just beautiful and majestic! I've been here since midday, I was so entranced."

"Really? Your interested in blacksmithing? Not many like this profession." The smith answers.

"It's my dream. I want to become a blacksmith and forge the greatest weapon ever!" I reply excitedly.

"Hmm, have you lined up an apprenticeship anywhere?"

"No I haven't. I haven't even told my parents that this is what I want to do. They want me to become a mage because my intelligence stat is so high."

"Hmm, is that so."

I ask sheepishly, "Do you have any apprentices?"

He replies, understanding where i'm going with this, "Sorry kid your too scrawny. Also the mage is a very well respected profession, you should do that."

"Please sir, I really want to become a smith!" I reply with determination.

"Hmm, fine. However, I won't be the one talking to your parents about this, if you are truly serious, you will tell them." He says sternly.

"By the way, what is your name?" I ask.

"Harold." He replies.

Later that night once I return home I gather my parents and I say, "Mom, Dad, I want to become a craftsman! I've already found a master."

After a few seconds my mom replies, "Okay, we will do our best to support you!"

"Really!" I say.

"Yes," they both reply.

For the next few weeks, I learn and absorb all the basics of blacksmithing. And before I know it, it was my baptism.

My whole family goes to the church, we wait a for a few minutes and then priest asks us to come forward saying, "We are here today to figure your sons destiny. I will now say a hymn, to draw out his potential."

[Oh gods, bless this young gentleman with all of your graces and offerings to make him a new man]
