308 Getting Tied Up

Xing went back to her courtyard and reread the letter she received. It was written that there is a weird disease spreading in the village she grew up in and two of the children in the Crimson Jade Manor she was raising were dead and it was suspected of poisoning.

Xing knew it was an urgent call for her to visit there but she didn't believe the children were in any danger. Xing strongly believed it because the letter was in Chenglei's handwriting and he will never allow for children to get hurt.

She placed a letter she has already written over her study table. The thick stack of letter was neatly folded and she placed her phoenix seal over the letter as a paper weight.

She changed from her golden empress robes to her usual Crimson robes and she tightly bound her chest to give the appearance of a male. She then applied the oil she usually used a long time ago to change her hair colour and braided it in her usual way. She also didn't forget to apply her skin darkening makeup.
