1 Arrival of a God

Amidst the myriad universes which made up the entirety of the world. There existed a sovereign which governed everything that happened in the entire universe.

With a single thought, he could annihilate innumerable civilizations and with his will, he could permit the birth of a cosmos.

He was the God of Darkness, Quaint.

Born alongside the first explosion which gave birth to the universe. He was the strongest being that could possibly exist. He governs the cycle of reincarnation, and he also manages the ascension of humans towards the higher realms of cultivation.

His eyes disregarded the concept of distance and pierced through a certain planet that brimmed with life, and his gaze landed on a young man whom along with his friends, traveled the entire planet and experienced the countless vicissitudes of life.

The young man met with enemies that barred his cultivation path and in the end, he died satisfied under the embrace of his beloved family.

Quaint revealed a slight smile on his face, because of his status as a God, the concept of lifespan didn't exist for him. But as he stared at the humans that lived their daily lives in joy and mirth. He became somehow envious.

However, he couldn't understand, about, Why are they happy about dying?

Do all humans feel happy when they're about to die?

A spark of curiosity flashed through his mind.

For as the God of Darkness, he always lived in solitude, all other Gods shunned him, partly due to the fact that those cultivators who walked on the path of evil cultivation, praised him as their sovereign.

"Ahhh... Just who the hell spread the idea that just because I'm the God of Darkness, meant that I am bad?! Now I feel lonely as hell..." He complained,

"What are you mumbling there? Quaint?" A feminine voice echoed behind him, and Quaint's expression became gentle as he turned his body around and said.

"You're finally here, Goddess of Light, Raichel."

His gaze, landed on a figure whose age couldn't easily be determined, however, deduced by the curves that she had, one could tell that she was quite young and she wore an outfit which stuck on her curves, greatly emphasizing it.

And her hair, that shone in a brilliant golden color poured down, and gently swayed in the vacuum of space.

The Goddess of Light, Raichel pouted and her arms, akimbo as she complained, "Did I tell you several hundreds of years ago that you can be more familiar with me? Why does it feel like you're treating me like a stranger? Just call me Rai or Raichel."

Quaint gave a weird smile, as a God and paired with his extensive knowledge. He knew that the Goddess of Light had a romantic feeling with him. However, how could a God like him, one that governed the dark, become one with the light?

That's why he felt quite helpless towards the matter and could only endlessly avoid it like the plague.

But today was different, for he needed to coax her into cooperation to succeed in his goal of escaping this goddamned place.

"Okay, then, I'll call you Rai." He awkwardly spoke.

But his words became the sweetest honey when it arrived her ears,

"Really?!" Her eyes beamed with excitement and she clunged on his arm before continuing.

"Then, can I call you, darling?"

"No, don't get ahead of yourself."

"..."

"Then? What is this favor that you're asking me about?" A cold and distant tone echoed,

"Ermm..." Quaint scratched his head.

"Can I ask you to cover my absence for a hundred years?"

"Haah? What are you saying? Could it be that you're going to descend?"

"Yeah, I've been itching to live with the humans for quite a while now, so please... at least give me this favor..."

"No!" She refused in a stern tone,

"Why?"

"Because the humans are not that good than you think." She sighed, "All of them are greedy pigs that only think of themselves, just why is it that you want to leave this Paradise?"

"Paradise? Being locked inside this dark space for several millions of years is called a Paradise for you? " Quaint raised his eyebrow and retorted, Raichel's countenance startled.

"Are you really that desperate to descend in the human realm?" She replied in a solemn tone.

Quaint didn't reply, instead, he just nodded his head and his expression, incomparably solemn.

"Okay, then, I shall cover you for a hundred years."
