Treasure Hunting

"Hahaha!!! The queen wants to marry you while one of the princesses fancies you. Hahaha!!!" The Chicken Lord laughed and laughed while he made fun of Jay's current situation right now.

"Mother! Are you out of your mind?" Princess Hailey shouted and pushed Queen Auburn away from Jay.

...

After all of those weird things that happened, the caravan's journey towards the Golden Phoenix guild hall went smoothly. Then around 5 hours later, when they arrived at Fisnar's Great Forest, Prince Frederick ordered everyone to take a break and make camp to let the horses pulling their carriages rest.

...

Somewhere in the encampment...

"Fisnar's great forest. A place that was once inhabited by elves and dryads. I wonder if..." Jay thought to himself while eating some barbecued meat. He also remembered some treasures hidden within the forest.

"If I start collecting those treasures now, it will probably take me a day or two. I should first bid farewell to everyone. And that certain item, if I manage to find it..." After thinking about this, Jay looked at the royal family that was in front of him.

"My queen, Prince Frederick, Princess Auriel and Hailey, I just wanted to say thanks for the free meal and transportation. But I still have some matters to deal with, so I have to part ways with everyone now." Jay said as he finished eating and stood up.

"Oh? Alright then. Do you need assistance perhaps? I can assign some of my men to you." Prince Frederick said casually since he knew Jay is a very busy man.

"Leaving already? Can I come with you?" Princess Auriel said while she faked a sad expression on her face.

"Sorry, but I have to do this errand of mine alone." Jay said as he waved his hand and said goodbye.

...

Somewhere else in Fisnar's Great Forest...

After saying farewell to the royal family, Jay decided to first climb a random tree and used 'Eagle Eye' to check the exact location where he was right now and see if he is nearby a treasure spot.

"If I remember correctly, there are a lot of treasures hidden within some of the gigantic trees and the two small lakes west of my location."After confirming his location, Jay transformed into his chicken form and jumped down the tree.

...

The first thing Jay did when he got down from the tree was he ran towards the small lakes. And while he was doing that, he also kept on destroying every gigantic tree he saw.

The moment he arrived at one of the small lakes, Jay already managed to destroy ten gigantic trees and managed to collect some precious items.

---------------------

Nature's Essence x10 (Rare Item)

- This item is believed to be the building blocks of nature. Just looks exactly like monster's essence except for its vibrant green color.

- Can be used in alchemy and potionmaking.

Oakwood Shortbow x2 (Iron/Rare)

- The commonly used bow of the wood elves.

- Damage rating: 75

Elven Lightweight Arrows x500 (Silver/Rare)

- One of the masterpieces of the Elven race. Unlike regular arrows, when fired, lightweight arrows are 4x faster.

- Damage rating: 35

"I hope that the spell book below the lake is the same as I remembered it." Jay mumbled softly before going back to his human form and diving down the lake.

...

After a few minutes later, under the lake...

'Night Hunter'

The reason why Jay used this spell was because it gave night vision to the caster. And right now, it was too dark under the lake and this spell was perfect for him to see the surroundings. And to make sure he can stay underwater without needed to resurface for air, he used a skill called 'Lunar Wind Armor,' a skill that belonged to the Lunar Winds skill set that Lord Tygon taught him.

The Lunar Wind Armor skill created a barrier of wind that copies the shape of the one using it. The wind barrier can be used as an attack or can be used to defend. But now, Jay was taking advantage of the wind barrier to create an air pocket near him so that he can just go there if he runs out of air.

"Okay... this is weird..." Jay did not know if he f*cked up again or not. In front of him was a gigantic snake with purple scales. Beside it were five large eggs which was obviously its unborn babies.

~Hisss...

"Purplescale Frost Python. If I remember correctly, it should be a rare/special elite monster that only spawns 5 times in Fisnar's Great Forest. It might have been a problem before, but unfortunately for this poor creature..." Jay sighed and decided to try out one of the skills he learned from training.

'Howling Fist of Love'

Jay balled up his right hand and just punched the monster in front of him. Of course, due to the effects of the skill, the Purplescale Frost Python did not even had a chance to do anything before getting knocked unconscious.

"What the f*ck? I thought it would take me around 5-10 punches... isn't this skill too strong? But I suppose I can only use it once per day... so I think it's pretty balanced." Jay thought to himself and used the 'Monster Essence' skill to capture the poor beast.

[Congratulations. You have captured the rare monster: Purplescale Frost Python]

[Would you like to name it?]

...

After keeping the large-sized purple blob which contained the Purplescale Frost Python, Jay looked around to see if the spell book he was looking for was here. But sadly, after an hour of searching inside the lake, Jay did not find it. The only things he found were some rare minerals.

--------------------------

Liquidite Stone x10 (Rare)

- A mineral that can be used to create other items that has an affinity for the water element.

- When exposed to heat, this mineral will expand. If it fully expands, water will start leaking out of it until it completely shrinks down and disappears.

-------------------------

Jay was about to leave but then he remembered those 5 eggs that the Purplescale Frost Python was guarding.

"What if I get those eggs and let them hatch? And if I let someone in the guild raise them... hehehe..." Jay had a wide grin on his face as he grabbed the eggs and stored it on the storage orb.

After that, Jay resurfaced from the lake and went towards the other small lake which might be where the spell book he is looking for is.

...

Somewhere else in Fisnar's Great Forest...

"Foul beast!"

"You think you petty elves can kill me?"

The surrounding trees were cut down, the ground was scorched, and there were people fighting. There were 10 Wood Elves who were trying to kill the monster in front of them which caused the destruction of the forest in this area.

If Jay was here, he might be shocked if he saw the 'monster.' It just looks exactly like the demon he and the Chicken Lord fought back at the tournament.

"Brothers, run! We are no match for this beast. Tell father that I, Prince Aerendyl, died for his people."

One of the wood elves who was wearing a white and exquisite battle robe shouted and rushed towards the demon as he unsheathed two swords on his waist.

"No! Prince Aerendyl! Don't do this!" A female wood elf shouted as she was dragged away by her companions as they ran and left prince Aerendyl to buy them some time.

...

As the nine wood elves ran, just as they thought of their prince fighting for them, they suddenly saw another mass destruction of trees in front of them. But unlike the ones from before where the trees had scorch marks on it, the broken trees in front of them looked as if it was blasted with a powerful spell.

"Damn beasts! How dare they do this to our forest!" The female wood elf shouted as they ran and tears flowed down from her face.

"Doreah, be strong. As long as our king and queen makes their move, all of the beasts that caused all this destruction will pay." One of the wood elves said as he comforted the female wood elf, Doreah.

...

Sadly, Jay did not know that his looting of the gigantic trees will cause another great kingdom to reveal themselves in the upcoming war... and this was just the start of many and unfortunate accidents that Jay will cause.
