1 The Blood Realm Calls...

My name is Derrick Shepherd 28 years old, and today has been a hell of a day. I got to the job site at 5 am and these lazy assholes were drinking from the water tanks like they were dying from thirst, and not a damn thing was done yet. All they did was mark out the dig zone. I swear I have to do everything here... Getting up into the excavator, I started tearing into the ground. Before long I felt a strong reaction in the rig, and heard a loud metallic grinding noise. Sighing, I got out and yelled at the boys asking them why they didn't do a proper scan of the area. Shaking my head at their lackadaisical answers, I climb down into the hole that I dug, and I found something very odd. A sword made out of a clear crystal of some sort, but it feels like metal. As I reached out and grabbed onto the handle, an intense wave of pain shot throughout my body starting from my hand, and as I was passing out I heard the words, "Blood calls, feed the hunger my heir!".

Falling through darkness for what seems like an eternity, I suddenly felt something wet and sticky all over my body. When I slowly forced my eyes open, I almost passed out again. Because what I'm seeing right now is too horrific for words. I'm currently lying in the middle of a battleground filled with thousands of corpses and the ground is drenched and flooded with blood right now. Clenching my fists, I realized that I am still holding the crystal sword which is obviously the culprit for bringing me to this hell. As I struggled to stand up, I realized that I'm wearing some type of steel armor and it's in tatters. After I noticed this, I felt intense pain shoot through my mind, and I learned who I now am. First Lieutenant Julius Argor of the Vampire Suppression Squad. The name of this world is The Blood Realm, and there are endless wars waged here. Mankind versus Demons; just like the myths from Earth, there are many races of mankind such as beastfolk and elves, and for demons there's vampires and succubi etc. My squad was wiped out and so was the previous Julius, but now he and I are one and the same, so let's go report to HQ.

Limping my way across the battlefield, it took me from when the sun was overhead to almost sunset before I finally made it back to HQ. When I arrived, some sentries got into a combat stance and were preparing to attack me, when a man with shoulder length white hair, and blood red armor shouted, "Cease your actions, he's one of ours! Welcome back First Lieutenant, I am glad that at least you survived that massacre." The man who spoke to me was Jeffrey Dunbarius, and he's the General in charge of The Vampire Suppression Squad. With a sigh, and a firm grip on my shoulder he said, "Come Julius, let's get you to the med bay and get you cleaned up. After you get the okay from the healers, there's some things that you and I need to talk about." I followed behind the man through the army camp, and looked at the elves, beastfolk, humans and other races around me. Seems for sure this isn't Earth after all. Ducking into a tent, the General left me behind and I stepped forward to the healers inside.

The healer girls made quick work of removing my scrapped armor, and before long I was buck naked in front of them. They cleaned my body with purification magic, then had me lay down on a bed. They then proceeded to chant a spell and gently moved their hands in the air above my body. I felt a warm and itchy feeling inside my body, and before long all of my wounds closed. Yes wounds, the previous owner of this body died in battle after all. Half an hour later they gave me the okay to leave, and handed me some clothes to wear.

Looking into the basin of water next to me, I finally saw a familiar stranger. Silver colored eyes, and pure white hair. Albino white skin, and standing at around 6 feet tall with aesthetic muscles, I'm a piece of living art if I do say so myself. Oh and little Julius is an Emperor he he he. Done fooling around and confirming my appearance, I got dressed in my red silk tshirt and white dress pants, and a pair of leather boots. Grabbing a sword sheath from by the wall, I put my crystal sword into it and buckled the sheath into place. Let's go and let the General know that I'm okay now.

Walking outside of the med bay tent, I made my way through the camp and headed to the central tent to see the General. Five minutes later I finally made it outside, and was saluted by a few soldiers. I made my way into the tent and found General Jeffrey and... My mom?! Hurling forward, I stopped by General Jeffrey and saluted him. He looked at me with a warm smile and gestured to my mom. I looked over to her, and saw her face covered in tears. She suddenly blinked forward and I felt myself being crushed in her bosom.

"Juli! You're alive! I heard that your entire squad was massacred, and there was little hope that you survived. Thank the Supreme One's you're okay. However, you're being sent home with me dear. After this traumatic event that happened to you, it's been decided that you're being honorably discharged." My mother Juliette Argor, a Sword Saint in the Alliance Army, is asking me to go home from the battlefield with her. This woman is a battle maniac in my memories, so I'm surprised to say the least, and my dad Rufus Argor is a nobleman who's retired from the war due to an old injury. Yep, yours truly is a bona fide noble.

I looked at Jeffrey my General who simply nodded and I knew that I'm being sent home for sure now. I shook my head, but am kind of relieved. Although this body has battle experience, and memories I'm still adjusting and am definitely not mentally prepared for war just yet. And it seems I've been discharged from the army, so I guess I'll be a mercenary or adventurer to get my own battle experience. The future is yet to be decided. Following my mom out of the camp, we stopped next to a gigantic wyvern with golden orange scales, and my mom leapt onto its back. I followed suit, and realized this body of mine is extremely agile. This is good news. Now we're both on the wyvern, and it suddenly took off into the air. I felt my stomach sink for a second, then I was okay. My mom looked back at me and said in a loud voice over the buffetting winds, "Your father will be happy to have you home. He never truly approved your decision to join the army. Even I was hesitant, but you've certainly done well for yourself and even gained a title of your own. 'The Bloodking'. Wherever your sword travels, surely blood will spill. Your aim is always true. Well done my son, you've earned this retirement from the army."

Hours later, we finally touched down at a manor in the center of Rivera the capital city of Rosewood Empire, and the seat of the human government. The name of the manor is the Elric Manor. Hopping down from the wyvern, it took off into the air, and I followed my mom through the tree line and headed over to the front door to my home. Julius Argor, unlike my old self, is only 16 years old and is of the age to be married. Julius ran off to join the army to avoid the arranged marriage set up by his father. Now it's probably time to face the music now that I'm back as the guy and get all of his baggage, or rather I should say my baggage now. Time to fully embrace my new identity I suppose. Walking through the door behind my mom, I was suddenly tackled by a little fairy. Or rather that'd be my 14 year old sister Annabeth Argor.

Pulling the little marshmallow into a proper hug, I wiped away her tears and said, "I'm home!" to which Annabeth replied, "Welcome back you big idiot!" She then hit my chest and cried a little more. Suddenly I heard someone clear their throat, and I looked up to see my father Rufus standing behind my little sister. I stepped forward and hugged him. He stiffened in surprise but then relaxed and said, "Welcome home you stubborn and reckless fool. I assume you're prepared to accept the arranged marriage with the Shropshire girl?" I smiled wryly and nodded my head in response. My father beamed happily, and called the kitchen staff and asked them to prepare a welcome home feast for me and mother. The staff scurried off, and I headed up the winding staircase in the middle of the entryway to the second floor. Once there, I walked to the end of the hall and reached my bedroom.

I opened my door and found a bedroom worthy of a young noble boy. Large room, and huge canopy bed and a regal looking writing desk. I walked over to my walk in closet and found loads of fancy outfits, and shoes. After checking out my room I jumped onto my bed and laid back and sighed. Today was one hell of a day, my crew didn't do crap at the job site and I got teleported to a hellish war torn world with a crystal sword in hand. As I grabbed onto the blade, and focused on it suddenly a voice sounded out. "Soul signature confirmed. Verification of bloodline in progress. Confirmed. New Demon King found. Initializing bloodline awakening ceremony." What?! Demon King?! The ruler of the enemies of the Alliance?! This is supposed to be me?! I'm so damn screwed!
