58 Three Visitors?

Just as he had promised, Captain Jarjaha took Savyrran, Minyet and Pan back to the manor of Master Nien Dinra two hours later. However, the head of the soul recovery school was still attending to Ovandarrak. Thus, the children had to wait for another thirty minutes in a large waiting room.

"He has visitors." Captain Jarjaha said to Master Nien Dinra. The master had just finished with Ovandarrak's treatment when the captain walked into her laboratory. As the Captain of Soul Recovery School, personally appointed by Master Nien Dinra, Jarjaha Kon-Montu was one of the few people in the entire school who were allowed in the laboratory while there was a patient undergoing soul recovery.

In soul recovery, a doctor had to sit through an entire treatment no matter how long it took. Thus, whenever Master Dinra was treating a patient, she did not want to be disturbed. Even Captain Jarjaha, who was allowed in the laboratory, understood this, and thus, out of his own discretion, often stayed out of the laboratory whenever the master was treating a patient.

The only reason he came back was because he knew that within the two and half hours they had stayed away, the master would have finished with Ovandarrak's recovery.

"Which visitors?" The master asked, observing Ovandarrak's calm face. Since the gaping hole in his soul had been healed after almost three hours of healing, the colour on Ovandarrak's face had been regained a little. The boy was still unconscious though. But after resting for a while, the master knew Ovandarrak would awake soon.

"His sister and friends. There are three of them."

Master Dinra finally looked up at Captain Jarjaha, a calm motherly smile on her face. The captain stiffened for a moment, as those still gray eyes searched deep within his soul.

Every time Jarjaha saw Master Dinra's eyes, he could not help but think that the master's refusal to meet people was a good idea. It was like the master had the power to hold people's souls hostage simply by looking at them. Though the captain had never seen Master Dinra use her essence or soul armos in an act of aggression, he strongly believed that the master would be a force to be reckoned with if she did. She was a blue user after all.

"Let them in."

"You want me to bring them in here? Only one of them belongs to the Soul Recovery School."

The smile on Master Dinra's face never faltered. "It's okay. They won't see me in here anyway."

Jarjaha nodded, quickly understanding what the master meant.

….....

"Ahhh… I thought he said we should come after two hours." Pan blurted out suddenly after his patience ran out. "Why are we still waiting?"

"I hope he is okay." Minyet added.

"He is. My brother is no weakling."

"Speaking about weaklings. Ovandarrak said you are very strong. He said you are even stronger than him. Are you also a green user? Or maybe you are a blue?" Pan said, a mysterious glint in his eyes.

"Goodness! Are you a blue user?" Minyet's brown eyes widened in shock. It was already a shock to her when she found out that Ovandarrak was a green user with a shape shifting soul armos. And now, she was hearing that Savyrran was a blue user. What kind of overpowered siblings had she come across?

Savyrran chuckled lightly when she realised that her two companions actually believed she was a blue user. How ironic. She did not even have a red essence.

"You know, I'm more surprised that Ovandarrak told you these things. How did you get him to speak to you?"

"Right? People say I'm annoying, which I agree. But Ovandarrak takes the crown. Most people get irritated when I annoy them. But he just ignores me, like I don't even exist."

Savyrran laughed when she heard Pan's confession. "Yes. It's why I'm surprised he even talked to you. You seem like someone Ovandarrak would avoid."

Pan's mouth opened, however, no words came out.

Minyet burst into laughter as though she had just heard the funniest joke. Her laughter became even more intense when she saw the sincerity with which Savyrran had said it. The twins may be as different as day and night, however, one thing they both shared was their unabashed sense of honesty.

Thankfully, before Pan could have a comeback, Captain Jarjaha entered the beautifully furnished waiting room. "Follow me."

"I hope we are not going to wait again."

"No, Pan. We are not going to wait again."

"Good, because my buttocks have reached their limit."

Soon, Captain Jarjaha led the trio to the large laboratory. In addition to the medical equipment, herbs and potions that gave the room the feel of a laboratory, there were several dozen beds. It was like the room also acted as an infirmary of some sorts.

In the academy, Master Nien Dinra was not the only soul recovery doctor. However, since she was the best soul recovery doctor in the entire Second dimension, extremely serious cases of soul injuries or damages were referred to her and she did those treatments in her laboratory.

When the children entered, the room was empty. Only Ovandarrak was lying on a low bed at the corner of the room.

Savyrran sat next to her brother and then gently touched his face. He looked so peaceful in his sleep.

"The master has finished with the recovery. However he would need to rest for a while to regain both his physical and soul energy." The captain explained.

"How long is that?" Savyrran's eyes never left Ovandarrak's face. As she stared at her brother, there was an inexplicable feeling of sadness that grew within her. Though she believed her brother would be fine, something within her told her that her brother might not be awake to see her trials.

"We can't say for sure. But he should be able to wake up before three days."

"Three days?" Pan exclaimed. That must have been some serious injury. For a moment, Pan was thankful he did not participate in the violet level. At the same time, he could not help but feel sad about his new friend's situation. Well, Ovandarrak may not think of him as a friend, however, he felt differently. After all, Ovandarrak had saved his life.

"Don't worry. He may wake before the three days. We've all seen how strong Ovandarrak is."

Minyet gently patted Savyrran on the shoulder. Ever since she met Savyrran, Minyet had never seen her without a smile. As a Norh, she did not understand the attachment people had to their family. Seeing Savyrran care so deeply for her brother truly stirred something within her. Is this what people meant by the love of family? Though Minyet had been worried about Ovandarrak, she could tell that Savyrran's emotions were very different from hers.

Suddenly, Savyrran stood up. A small smile lit up her shiny black eyes.

"He will be fine." Minyet said, holding Savyrran's strong arms.

"I know. I was hoping my brother could see my trials. It's rather unfortunate."

"It's okay." Pan said. "Tomorrow, we will watch your trials."

Savyrran chuckled. "I don't doubt it. Anyway, we should go. Ovan needs to rest, and I need to find out when my trials begin."

"I just told you though. Your trials begin early tomorrow morning. I heard one of the seniors saying it."

"Ah, I see. I guess I should go and prepare then."

Captain Jarjaha nodded, then led the children the door.

Once Savyrran, Minyet and Pan were gone, Captain Jarjaha silently shut the door and then went back inside the laboratory.

"So what do you think?" He said.

Slowly, an endless streak of deep blue light appeared out of nowhere. Out of the blue essence stepped the fair-skinned and long golden haired master. This time, instead of her gray eyes, her pupils had become blue. Once the master fully stepped out of the blue light, her eyes returned to their normal gray colour, while her blue essence vanished back into her soul.

"I thought you said there were three of them?"

"There were."

Master Dinra thought carefully about what she had just heard. Well, it did make sense that there were three children, after all, she had heard three different voices. She even recognised one of them by their voice and soul energy. So why was it that she only saw two of those children?

Well, since she was blind, she could not see them physically. So instead, she could see their soul energy. One of them had green soul energy, and she knew that person was Pan. The other one she could tell had a very powerful yellow essence. From how extremely powerful that yellow soul energy was, Master Dinra was sure that the owner of that soul energy practised some kind of mystic art.

But the so called third person was nowhere to be found. All she could do was hear her voice, however, she could not see anything. There was no soul energy being emitted from the person, and thus, she saw nothing. From her intensive research, Master Dinra had come to understand that every natural thing had a soul energy.

Even if a child had not yet manifested, Master Dinra could still see a pink soul energy around them. Someone with a damaged soul, whose soul energy was not strong enough to power their soul armos also revealed a brown soul energy in her eyes. Never had she ever met anyone whose soul energy she could not see.

She remembered that though she could not see the person, she had heard the voice refer to Ovandarrak as her brother. "Which of them was Ovandarrak's sister?"

"Savyrran. Savyrran Thark. She is applying to the Combat School."

"The Combat School?" Master Dinra ran her fingers through her long golden hair. How was someone obviously without soul energy applying to the Combat School? There was something awfully strange about Ovandarrak's sister, and the master wanted to get to the bottom of it.

"Jarjaha, I need you to arrange a meeting with Master Haniki for me."

"Yes, Master Dinra." Jarjaha bowed lightly. Once Master Dinra dismissed him, he left the room.
