1 Chapter 1 - The Beginning.

A starry sky is stretched across, leaving the light of the moon to shine upon the world. The flame of a campfire flickers across the night, revealing an older individual as well as seven younger children. The older individual was a grandma, in her seventies, holding a book, while waiting for the seven kids to quiet down.

"Now, now, quiet down."

"I need everyone to settle down, so I can read this story."

"Alright grandma!"

"Alright then, this story has grown along with my family for generations. It's been said that the book was actually written by my ancestors, but I believe it was the guardian of the forest. But worry not, it's still in decent condition."

The children stare at their grandma in awe, fascinated at the book at hand. The book was in tatters, and looked like it was repaired consistently for generations.

"Well children, this book is quite magical I must say."

The children looks towards the grandma, with their undying attention, listening to her.

"You see, I'm not going to read this, because this book will reveal itself to you."

The kids looked at each other with a face of suspicion, thinking that a book telling the story within it is impossible. Gradually, they looked back at their grandma and responded together.

"Okay, grandma Lyra."

Grandma Lyra looks at the book's title and sighs with relief. The book was called, "The Watchers of Arion."

With this, the story will be passed onto these younger generations. And when I'm gone, I hope they tell this story to their children.

The book opens and shines throughout the night. Time seems to have froze with it opening, while only those that were in the vicinity was able to move. Images are spread across this dome like vicinity, and the story is told.

The camera zooms out of view of the group, and turns towards the sky, afterwards it faces towards the dark forest. Suddenly, a figure of a women appears out of the forest. Her hair was green and reached towards her mid back. She was wearing an extravagant green dress that signifies her to be some sort of queen, as well as having accessories on her hair, signifying that she was a part of royalty. Indeed, she was the guardian of the forest.

It seems like she is telling the story to the younger generations. It will help them in the future.

"Return to me, my scout bird, and leave them! We must return to the forest, I do not trust my husband enough to handle affairs with nearby countries."

The guardian of the forest returns and leaves nothing but the darkness of the night.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun arises, indicating that morning has come. It's rays pierces through the darkness, awakening all living things. Plants dance upon the sunlight, taking it in as energy to begin their day, while different amounts of insects begin their march. Different animals are seen, dashing around the forest, as well as some, racing towards a hill. The animals on the hill looks upon the rising sun while feeling the breeze pass through their fur. They know, that it's another day of survival. They know, they must move, and cross through various mountains; only then will they find a new home.

A village, surrounded by forest, begins to awaken to the cries of roosters, as the villagers are abruptly disturbed of their sleep. Some are already seen stepping outside of their wooden homes, stretching, to begin their day. Some, are getting ready to get to work. However, this is not where we begin this story.

Clouds begin to spread out as bells starts to ring. An entire castle could be seen as well as the building that surrounds it. People are seen scurrying towards a building, as the day starts.

Two old man and a women are conversing amongst each other as they make way towards the hall of the building.

" It's that time of the year again, isn't it?"

"It is that time again. As usual, we have to let fate decide. We are not in charge of this, so I wonder… who is it this time?"

"Although, we are spirits living here, we still have work to do."

Time passed slowly as the three make their way towards the building where the crowd has gathered. The moment the three individual stepped into the building, the entire crowd turn their gaze towards them. Awaiting something from them. One of the old man look towards the crowd and spoke with a calm voice.

"I know why everyone is here and I hope this goes smoothly. So without wasting any time, let's begin."

The old man closes his eyes and releases a spell, in order to receive the message from the watchers of the world. He can be seen engulfed in light, with ripples of light emitting from him. His spell lasts for a minute, and he opens his eyes. Having received the message, he looks at the crowd and begins his speech.

"As you all know, I, Creos, have received this message. This message is a task that has been given to us. It says that, one of the watcher's child is amongst us. And that, he must be sent down to survey the world for 10,000 years."

After hearing the speech, the crowd gasps in shock. Knowing how horrendous the request is.

"That's terrible."

Three others get up and start raising their fists at Creos.

"What's up with this!? This isn't no task, this is more of a punishment. Are these people going insane?"

"Now, now. You see, they told me that this kid is ready for this, and that there's no need to worry."

Another member in the crowds charges toward Creos in a fury.

"Even still! There's no need to send someone down there for 10,000 years, let alone, it being in spirit years. Especially since 10 years down there is equivalent to 1 spirit year. He would look like an old man in no time, even worse, unable to even fulfill this mission."

"About that, he apparently has a special condition that makes him look like he's 16 for eternity."

The crowd, shocked at the fact that the child gains limited immortality for this request.

'What the hell!?"

Creos, trying to calm the crowd down a bit.

"Yeah, apparently the watchers had thought this through, when they had sent him down to us."

Another individual walks up towards him.

"Alright, that's fine, but who or where is he right now?"

"Well, he's not gathered here right now. But you know what, let's go to where he's living."

Creos leads the crowd of people out of the building, and towards the gates of the castle. They enter the forests that surrounds the castle, and make their way towards the river. They then follow the river downstream, until they have reached a decent looking home.

On the way, a girl from the crowd begins to spout out words of amazement.

"My god, he sure has had time. How did he build this house here near the river?"

Noticing how surprised she was, Creos calmy spoke.

"He didn't, it was here when he arrived."

Minutes later, the crowd eventually arrived. What they saw was a decent wooden cabin that look like it could house a family of eight. It was surrounded by crops and small animals and fenced in by wood. As the crowd arrived, they slowly walk towards the wooden gate and stood there as Creos walk towards the home. When Creos arrived at the stairs leading towards the door, he could hear the squeaks of the wooden boards and the sounds of walking inside the home. He calmly knocks at the door.

"Hey! You in there?"

"Uh, yeah. Hold on!"

The watcher's child quickly runs toward the door and opens it. The moment he opened the door, light shines through and what can be seen is a child, standing at the doorway. As the child look towards the crowd, he can see them, surprised at the sight of him, but in his mind, he knew it was due to him residing in the house.

"Oh no, this is wrong."

"What the hell? They intend to send a child?"

"Uhh... yeah, he looks like he's only 8."

"Hey Creos! What the hell is going on? And how old is this kid?!"

Creos quickly turning back towards the crowd.

"Alright everyone! Let me be clear here. He is 8 spirit years old. And I KNOW, this is messed up, but there's nothing we could do."

After turning towards the crowd to quell the anger, he turns back to the kid.

"Child, I'm sorry, but we have received word from the watchers that, we have to send you down, to Salaent."

The child, still intimidated by the sight of the crowd surrounding his home. Was stunned by the words that Creos spoke. Still inhibited by fear, he musters what little strength he had to help him talk.

"I'm being sent down...Why?"

"That I can't say. Only that it was "The Watcher's" that had requested it"

"Does that mean, I have to go down alone?"

'I am sorry to say this, but that's right; however, you will remember your name when you arrive down there."

His eyes, waters as the crowd watches.

"I see. Then, there's nothing I can do. If this really is fate, then I'll let it flow."

After all this time, I'm still treated as an outsider, I guess this world really hates me.

Many of the onlookers can see his tears flow down his cheeks. It breaks their heart that a child must be sent; however, they do not know the reason why he was truly crying.

Normally, only those of age 16 and older in spirit years would be sent down. This is to let the individual train both physically and mentally before going. However, this one was a special case.

Creos walks up to the boy and comforts him, while walking with him through the crowd in order to return to the commute building.

"Quickly, we must get you prepared to depart."

"... but who's going to watch my home while I'm gone?."

"No need to worry, we'll call someone to take care of it while you're gone."

After time had passed, they have finally returned to the city. Creos and two others can be seen separated from the crowd. The four head towards another building in order to change the boy's clothes to something a bit more casual. As the four are left to go on their own, the crowd begins to split into different groups as they await the four at the commute building. Some are seen entering while others are leaving as they please.

The building that the crowd had entered, the commute building, was beginning to become more lively than usual. Due to the nature of these "missions," not many had stayed to witness the individuals being sent off. It was either due to it being family only or just the fact that it wasn't of much interest. Except on this day, it was more unusual than ever. Because no one has ever heard of an 8 year old being sent that, inevitably, it has become the talk in the commute building.

When the four arrived, it was in the middle of the afternoon. The crowd had become silent and the gaze of many are turn towards them. Creos begins to calmly speak towards the crowd.

"I know you all are here today to witness this child being sent. I can assure you, the ceremonial ritual will be quick and this dispute amongst us will be settled."

The crowd begin looking at each other in confusion as they all thought to themselves.

What dispute? I don't remember there being a dispute.

Was it that drama that happened earlier today?

Could it be?

"Quiet down. We are going to begin the sending now."

Creos closes his eyes and begin to immerse himself in light as the ritual begins. Words can be see circling him as he chants the spell. Slowly, the light begins to envelop the boy and eventually, he is completely covered. The boy begins to look at all the individuals that are present and then looks at his hands. He can see that he is starting to fade within the light as it guides him towards his next destination.

The light begins to fade out and the child is completely gone. The crowd, witnessing the sending, were all sitting quietly at this spectacle, not moving an inch.

Creos opened his eyes and saw that the crowd that was gathered in the building was quiet. In order to break the awkward silence, he needed to do something.

"Ermm....and with that, the job is done. So you can all leave now and return to your daily lives."

After listening to his voice, the crowd begins to stand up and slowly walk towards the door.

During this whole ordeal, 4 knights are seen near the commute building. They were walking towards it, trying to not look suspicious.

"Is it here?

"Yeah."

"Ah crap, they got another one."

"You serious?"

"Yeah."

"Is he the mastermind behind this?"

"Yeap, thats Creos alright."

"If the king hears about this, he's gonna flip."

"Well, that's why we gotta take him in now."

"Alright, but as soon as the crowd leaves."

The ones leading the crowd through the commute building opens the door to the outside. All of the people that were in the commute building began to leave. Slowly, many leave one by one until all those who were left was just Creos and the other two.

"Guess we can say that this was successful."

"Haha yeah. These idiots wouldn't know a damn thing that happened."

"How did you even find the boy Creos?"

"I was just walking around the city and just saw him outside."

"What about "The Watchers" thing?"

"Bullshit just to scare them and convince the in thinking that they're real."

"What about that light?"

"What? Do you mean 『Light Flash』 ? Anyone can learn that and control it to this state. Hell, if you were good enough at magic control, you can make it seem like anything. Even using a curse to heal someone. You can just mask it with that light skill."

"Is that so?"

"We are using『Transform』right now aren't we? Besides, these spirits wouldn't know a go...."

As Creos was about to finish his sentence, the four guards that were walking towards the commute building entered. Seeing them, the three prepare to make their grand escape.

"Halt!"

"We know who you three are! So you better not have any ideas!"

The old woman turns toward Creos and whispers to him.

"Crap, we've been found out. Let's get out of here."

A guard notices them quietly talking to each other and suspects that they're trying to escape.

"Hmph, don't even try."

A barrier was erupted and covered the entire commute building.

While the barrier was taking form, onlookers begin to see it form and went towards it.

"What's going on?"

"Wait, didn't a child get sent to Salaent?"

"But wasn't this the decision of The Watchers?"

"What are you talking about? The Watchers don't communicate with us like that."

"You idiots! You were conned!"

A crowd start to gather and an uproar begins to play outside the building.

Meanwhile, inside the building.

"Oh shit, there's a crowd now."

"Yeap… his majesty is gonna be pissed."

"It's unavoidable.. Sigh"

"Let's just get this over with..."

Creos and company began to leave quietly, while watching the knights ramble.

"Hurry, while those guards aren't watching."

"Alright, alright."

Creos quickly casts a spell in order break the barrier.

"hmm , this should do it."

He casts 『Spell Breaker』in order to destroy the barrier surrounding the area. However, those efforts were in vain.

"Ohh no you don't! 『Silence』!"

In a matter of seconds, the knight stops the skill from being cast. While another knight follows up with another spell.

"『Chain Prison』"

Chains begin to emerge from the ground as it quickly ties itself upon the three's leg.

One of Creo's member sees this and quickly counters.

"『Frost』"

Frozen ice begin to appear on the chains and slow down the process of the spell. The chains had also turned into ice during the process..

"Quickly, break it!"

The three broke the brittle chain and began to escape.

"Ohhh no you don't. 『Gravity Prison』"

As soon as the spell was cast, space itself was starting to distort. A feeling of heaviness had covered the area that Creos and Co. was standing on.

"High level skill?"

"Quick! Get out!"

Creos quickly grabs his two friends and toss them outside of the zone.

"Ughhh"

"Creos!!"

The heaviness has struck him as he seen kneeling on one leg in pain. Slowly, the ground beneath him starts to break and all that was left was him under the pressure of the prison.

"You bastard!! 『Ice lance』!"

An Ice Lance that was around roughly 9 foot had materialized and launched itself towards one of the knights. Every second the lance traveled, it leaves piles of ice in its wake.

"『Flame Barrier』! Quickly, you guys! We can't stall this anymore!"

Two knights hear this and the both simultaneously cast spells.

"Gotcha, 『Heaven's Prison』!"

"『Requiem of Blades』!"

A prison of light envelops the three, as rings begin to appear one by one until there 10 rings as well as there being a light screen to box them.

While the prison of light formed, 12 blades materialize and surrounded those captured in the light prison.

As the three saw these spells, they knew, there was no escape. If one were to touch the barrier or cast spells against it, it would reflect the damage 10 folds back to them; however, if one were to spell break the barrier, they would be met by a flurry of blades.

Creos turns toward the girl that was besides him.

"I guess this is it. I can't let you die here without anyone reporting the mission."

She looks at him and nods.

"I know."

She begins to sob as Creos gives her his final farewell.

"So, us two are going to stay here. We may be tortured like no tomorrow, but at least i know you're safe. So please, escape."

Creos places a stone that is etched with different types of symbols into her hands.

"Take this, it will transport you out of this mess. Normally, I would take us all, but I just don't have enough mana to get us out. So it's all up to you, Sofia."

"I know." Sniff " I wish you two luck."

Sofia looks at the two and smiles with tears in her eyes, while the other two smile and laugh slightly.

"Take care… Sofia"

"Yup!"

"Goodbye Creos… Martin."

Sofia transfers mana into the stone and she is immediately teleported out. The stone crumbles upon use and the four guards are shocked to see her disappear.

"These punks, they had a teleportation stone."

"Aren't those really expensive?"

"Yeah they are."

Creos and Martin turn towards the knights. Creos can be seen casting a spell at the knights

"Youuu bastaaarddss won't get away with this! This is our last stand here!

『Piercing Light Arrows』! "

Countless arrows of light materializes and begins to move towards its targets at a high speed. Unfortunately, one of the knight sees this and reacts quickly.

"『Guardian's Grace』!"

A glowing shield appears and covers the four as a shell, while countless arrows are sent flying, trying to break it.

"Seems like your skill is useless"

One of the soldiers said mockling with a grin on his face, while they were looking towards Creos and Martin.

"Not if i can help it! 『Frost Trident』!"

A three story trident materializes in the sky and freezes the surrounding area. It began to fall straight down in high speeds, shredding through the roof of the commute building. When the spear had reach the knight's shield, the knight's spell had begun to crumble. Slowly, Guardian's Grace breaks and the knight can be seen spitting out blood.

"No!"

"That's it! 『Dimensional Prison』!"

The prison overlaps with the current light prison and Creos and Martin disappears within it.

While trapped, the two starts having a chat.

"I guess it's over Martin"

"Yeah, it's over, but it was a good run."

"Haha really? You say that now out of all the times we had?"

"True… but it wasn't as serious as this one."

"Haha, you were my best friend when were young Martin."

"Same."

"I just hope that Sofia is safe… if she could get back and report this to the watcher king, everything will not be for naught."

"I hope so, besides… that last kid we sent. He was the last one here, and I'm glad that he's gone now."

"Well, it kind of sucks that we had to talk like that when it ended though."

"It couldn't be helped, they walked into our radar with evil intent, so we had to do it like this to make it seem like we're the bad guys."

"Haha… guess it's going to be awhile."

"Yeah.."

The two sigh in relief knowing that their task is finally over.

Meanwhile, outside of the dimensional prison.

"We finally caught them."

"Yeah, but that took way too long."

"Whose idea was it to not just use these spells right off the back?"

"Drop it! The job is done so forget about it."

"Welp, we better take them back to the castle dungeons asap."

"Also, take him to the infirmary. I'll handle it here."

The knights have a short conversation as they prepare to head out.

One of them is seen carrying both Martin and Creos in the prison towards the castle. Two of the knights can be seen heading towards the infirmary while the last one stayed behind. The last knight that stayed behind quickly casts spells to repair the building as well as removing the trident and the ice in the surrounding area. Afterwards, the knight casts a spell to erase the memories of witnesses and then went towards the castle.

The knight arrived at the castle and proceeded towards the dungeons, where the two were being kept.

The dungeons were dark and damp. The groans of those that were incarcerated was strong enough to create a breeze that can blow an individual back a couple feet. The smell of the dungeon was putrid due to the sheer amounts of corpses that has been left in each cell. If one were to identify which was which, it would had been documented as 70 percent of the decaying bodies were from demons and the rest were whatever the city deemed as an enemy.

Upon arrival, the knight meets up with the other three as they began to question Martin and Creos.

"You two! Get rid of those disguises at once!"

With the demand from the knight, both Creos and Martin removed 『Transform』. Both of them looked quite young as if they were in their mid 20s to 30s.

"Answer me! We will only ask you one question. Which side do you reside!?"

"Isn't that obvious!? We will stay by and forever with "The Watchers"!"

"I see, then you two shall perish here for eternity you damn demons!"

The knights leave the cell and went straight out of the dungeons to the city.

Meanwhile, in the dungeon.

"Those bastards, they're the real demons here!"

"Just quit it bro, and relax. We'll get out of here… one day right?"

"Yeah, we'll get out one day. Please, Sofia. Please be safe."
