Republic city and training
The next morning jon woke up and was surprised to find that his injuries healed over night
"Well damn being a bender is really the best" jon said as he clenched his fist testing his body
After he was done checking his body he looked around at the semi-destroyed medical room and sighed
"The sister is gonna make me clean it anyways so I may as well start now"
Jon grabbed a nearby broom and began sweeping the floor and picking up the droped medical supplies and reorganizing them, as he was finishing up sister lily came in the room and was surprised to see him out of bed.
"Jon you unlocked your bending? Congratulations? Sister lily said with a smile as she looked over his body.
"How did you know sister?" Jon asked confused by her deduction.
"Hehe you probably didn't know about this since you were not a bender but. Normal benders need only half the time non benders do to recover from injuries, and that time only decreases the stronger you become" sister lily said with a smile
"Well that's good to know" jon said as he sat down on the bed
"So jon what element did you unlock? I always pegged you for a fire bender but I personally would love more water benders around here" sister lily said as she began to day dream about teaching more kids waterbending.
"Haha about that sister, I'm an airbender" jon said with a sheepish smile
Sister lily was silent for a second before she chuckled
"Very funny jon but besides the tenzin the son of the avatar there are no oth-" sister lily began to say until jon in his infinite wisdom blew a gust of wind from his hand at her causing her clothes to blow upwards
Luckly sister lily was a modest woman so she always wore spanks underneath her robes but her anger was surpressed by shock
"Y-y-your an airbender!" Sister lily screamed and pointed at him
"Haha yea I guess I am" jon said sheepishly
"Jon this is amazing, do you realize that there is only one air bender besides you? Well their are rumors that tenzin's wife is expecting but still" sister lily says as she bounces in her chair
"Yea it exciting isn't it" jon also said as he bounced in his chair along with her
After a while of bouncing and giggling we stopped and got serious
"Ok jon what do you wanna do about this?" Lily said turning serious
"Eh? Youre not gonna report this to city council or tenzin himself? Jon asked confused
"Jon I know I've only known you for 6 years but I can tell your not the nomadic type you love meat too much" sister lily laughed "also the council while dependable in certain matters would definitely try to exploit you" she finished
"I won't let anyone manipulate me" jon said seriously
"I know you won't, I've seen the looks you give your bullies as they harrass you and even tho I try to keep bullying to a minimum I cant be everywhere at once, not to mention the other categivers who neglect the other non-bending kids" sister lily said with a sigh.
"I guess i couldn't hide it from you huh?" Jon said with a sigh
John not only got the memories from this body but also the emotions that came with them and hate dosent even begin to come close to what he felt about his bullies, hell If ot wasn't for people like sister lily he'd probably hate all benders he even started exercising to try to fight back, he would have definitely became an amon chi blocker he had the reflexes and flexibility for it but that probably can also be attributed to the fact that he was an airbender he probably would have awakened once korra opened the spirit portals.
"Also while I have you here let me say this" sister lily continued "now that you have you're bending I hope you'll take it easy on the boys, they are just jealous because of your smarter than them and that you get most of the attention not only from the teachers but the girls too" sister lily said with a sad smile on her face.
"I won't lie sister Im definitely going to confront them, but I won't hurt them too bad that's all I can promise" jon said while looking her straight in the eye
"Sigh fine i won't stop you I just hope you think about it more before anything happens, also I hope you wont become big headed like the other bender kids around here" sister lily said
"Don't worry sister while I'll try my best to stay humble but again I won't lie and say I dont think I'm superior to others, I thought that way even before I was a bender if I'm being honest but i can promise to to become a bully like the others" jon said with finality
Sister lily sighed again and just got up and began to leave the room,as she got to the door she turned around and said
"Breakfast will be ready in ten minutes, at least try not to fight in the cafeteria please" sisyer lily said as she left the room
"No promises sister!" Jon yelled back as he also left the room to prepare for breakfast
After a quick shower he headed to the cafeteria and ate his breakfast quickly before leaving the cafeteria, as much as he wanted to put those bullies in their place he had bigger issues to worry about.
After leaving the cafeteria he stepped out of the orphanage and stared in awe
"I didnt fully believe it but its true, Im in republic city" jon said as he looked around at the city, the streets were crowded with people and mutible voices over lapped as everyone went about their day either going to work or just walking around doing mundane things.
The streets were filled with satomobiles and the skys had air ships with different emblems on them, some belonging to the police and others belonging to companies shiping out cargo
As he walked through the city he pondered on his next course of actions
'Well off the bat i should start training immediately, being weak in this world is a no no and I refuse to live a mundane life especially now that I've been given power on a silver plate' jon thought while grinning
'I also have to figure out how to involve my self in the plot, going straight to tenzin is going to be a last resort Im no nomad and Im definitely not pacifist, I 100% believe in defending yourself and the people you care about with deadly force if its necessary' jon said with a serious look

'Also I really do love meat too much to give it up' jon thought with a smile on his face
Jon continued to ponder as he made his way towards an abondoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city, he wanted to hide his airbending abilites for a little while so he opted to practice the offensive and defensive side of air bending here and focus on meditation and lung training back at the orphnage
"Ok if i remember tenzin's words right air bending consists of flowing circular movements, you cannot force it you have to let it flow" jon said as he cleared his mind and began to move in a circular rhythm while bending the air around him to follow his rhythm.
After danceing for hours he finished off with running through the crowded streets of republic city bobbing and weaving in between the people in a effort to train his reflexes and reaction speed while using air bending to not only reduce air resistance but to boost his speed, this helped in his control of the element as well as gauging his chi so he can find his limits.
After a full day of training he returned to the orphnage right before curfew and ran into sister lily at the entrance.
"Jon is everything ok? You never stay out this late" sister lily said worriedly
"Im fine sister I was just out training" jon said as they walked through the halls
"Jon please be careful, even tho I'm not a know-it-all when it comes to the in's and outs of the city I do know how much an airbender is valued by curtain parties that would want you on their side by anymeans" sister lily said seriously as they reached his room
"I understand sister lily, goodnight" jon said as he walked into his room
"Sigh I hope he'll be ok" sister lily said to her self as she left for her own room for the night
Jon took a late shower and went to bed, as he lay in his bed he thought back on what sistet lily said
"Damn I was so caught up in my bending I completely forgot about those who would want to use my abilities for their own gain or just straight up kill me" he thought as he thought about the different antagonists of this world
"Well then again the only people id have to worry about are amon and tarrlok due to their proficiency in bloodbending, every one else can be dealt with when Im strong enough" jon said as he drifted off to sleep.
