A.N: I realised that I never gave a description of the MCs looks, and after careful deliberation I decided to just be lazy so just imagine the MC looking like xiao from genshin impact look it up if you don't know who that is or wait for someone to post a pic in the comments, enjoy the chapter
Night time after the fight triple triad territory

"So you expect me to believe there's an airbending orphan living it the orphanage you work in and has no relation to those monks on air temple island" a middle aged man wearing a fancy suit said as he sat behind his desk with two goons standing on each of his sides.
"Y-yes sir, on top of that he's very violent he pretty much sent three boys to the hospital and the healers aren't even sure if the last boy will wake up again" one of the orphanage workers said while looking at the ground nervously
"You know what happens to those who lie to lighting-bolt-zolt correct?" Zolt asked while leaning fowards in his chair
"Yes I know and I swear on my life its true he's a young boy with dark green hair with light green highlights and sharp golden eyes he's almost impossible to miss" the man said while shaking
"Hey boss I think I've seen a kid that looks like that running throughout the city, sometimes he runs so fast he's like a green blur" the grunt on the right whispered to zolt
"I see" zolt said before turning back to the orphanage worker "thank you for your intel, pay the man for his troubles" he said while turning towards the window that looks down on the city
"Thank you sir-" the man couldn't finish because an earth spike shot up from the floor and stabbed him through the chest killing him instantly
"Have some men scout the orphanage for the boy, once we confirm his patterns we'll srike and take him, I refuse to miss this golden opportunity" zolt said while looking out the window before turning to face a grunt
"Also we'll need to figure out who else knows about him and silence them before they spill the beans" zolt finished as the grunts moved the body out of the room
"Damn now I need a new carpet" he said as he looked at the blood seeping in his expensive carpet.
Republic city police station main branch

"Ugh so much paperwork, I need another assistant" a grey haired green eyed woman with two scars parallel to each other on her lower right cheek going down to her jaw said while drinking her last cup of coffee trying to finish the paperwork for today
Suddenly two knocks sound out from the door before one of her assistants opens the door and pokes his head inside
"Chief befong a sister lily is here to see you" the assistant said
"Huh? I don't have an appointment with a sister lily" lin said confused
"Your right but the woman said its very important" the assistant said sheepishly
"Sigh, send her in I need a distraction anyways" lin said as she chugged her coffee and organized her desk
After a while sister lily came in the room and sat in front of lin's desk
"Thank you for meeting me pn such short notice chief, I assure you what im about to say will shock you so brace yourself"
"Sister I've been chief for decades i dout anything you'd say would shock me when compared to the things ive seen and heard in my career" lin said as she sat back in her chair.
"Ok well" sister lily said as she began to narrate the life of jon from beginning to end
Ten minutes later

"..." Scilence
Sister lily began to shift uncomfortably in her chair as lin stared at her slack-jawed
"Um chief?" Sister lily said nervously
"Cough, sorry im just shocked, this is alot to take in" lin said reorganizing herself.
"So let me get this straight a boy originally believed to be a non bender gets beaten by bullies so bad he's bed ridden?" Lin asks and sister lily nodds sadly
"Then he wakes up an airbender?" Lin confirms and lily nods again
"After that you try your best to double down on the bullying by your lonesome for 4 years to keep everyone safe and avoid an inevitable fight that you know will go badly?" lin asked
"Yes, i really tried my best to prevent it" sister lily said as her mood drops again
"Then while you were doing some repairs rhe bullies confront him and he beats them so bad that one has a concussion, one has a broken arm and wrist, and the last one was beaten so badly his face will most likely be permanently scarred and he has yet to wake up?" Lin sighs as she rubs her temple's
"Thats right" lily says with her head down and tears spilling from her face
"Well, first of all don't feel bad you did the best you could, the ones to blame are the other workers who turn a blind eye to the bullying" lin said giving lily a comforting smile
"Thank you" lily said while cleaning her face
"But you aren't completely without fault, for starters why didn't tou report the presence of a new airbender in the first place?" Lin asks
"He asked me not to he felt like he wasn't cutout for the air nomad life, and after knowing him for as long as I do he really isn't" sister lily said
"Ok so why report this now?" Lin said while squinting her eyes
"Well the whole orphanage saw the fight and after i was finished helping jon clean up I overheard some of the workers saying they were going to sell information about him to gangs and corrupt politicians and now I'm worried for his safety" lily said as lin's eyes widened
"How long ago did you hear about this!!" Lin asked now full of energy
"About 10 hours ago" lily said shrinking in her seat
"Goddamit" lin said as she pressed a button on her radio "some one get tenzin on thw phone urgently" lin said hurriedly
Seconds later she got a response "tenzin is currently at city hall in a meeting with the other council members and isn't able to answer the phone at the moment" a detective answered back
"Ok get a satomobile ready we're going to city council directly, sister lily you're coming with us" lin said as she put on her combat armor and walked out of the room with sister lily trailing behind her
Republic city, city council office

"And with that thus council meeting is ajorined" a tall man with tan skin and three long dreadlocks going down his back and wearing noble north water tribe garments bangs the gavel ending the council meeting.
Before the other council members can leave a commotion is heard from outside the meeting hall
"Chief, you can't go in yet their still in a meeting" a nervous assistant said trying to stop lin
"Outta the way pipsqueak" lin says throwing the poor man back down the hall and storming in the hall
"Chief befong I hope what ever it is its important enough to just barge in here like this" tarrlok says with a calm face
"Hmph councilmen tarrlok" lin greats with a huff
"Hello lin you're looking beautiful as alw-" tarrlok couldn't finish due to lin speakind directly to a tall bald-headed man wearing orange and yellow robes finished off with a red cloak that drapes around his sholders with strange light blue arrows drawn on his body starting from his head and going all across his body.
"Tenzin I need you to come with me, its very important" lin says seriously while ignoring tarrlok
"Lin what's wrong is it my family?" Tenzin says a little panicked, his wife gave birth to his first daughter jinora about three years ago and she's pregnant with another, and while hes confident in the white lotus protecting his family the amount of people spotted trying to sneak into airbender island has greatly increased since jinora's birth.
"No, as far as I know you're family is safe, however I think you'll want to come with us to here what sister lily here has to say" lin said while gesturing to sister lily who's standing a lityle behind her
"Well if you think it's so urgent lin I'll-" tenzin said before tarrlok interrupted
"Well hold, on I think the rest of the council would like to hear about this situation as well" tarrlok said still keeping a calm smile on his face
"Sorry councilman but this is personal to tenzin" lin said trying not to reveal too much
"Really? You just said his family is fine and tenzin clearly wasn't expecting you so it must not be a personal as you make it out to be" tarrlok said trying to fish for information
"Ugh alright listen here you-" lin was about to explode on him before tenzin stepped in
"Lin its alright! Just tell us what's going on please" tenzin said with a sigh as the rest of the council members sat back down and hoped they could go home soon.
"Well sister you have the floor" lin said as she stepped back and let sister lily have the floor

"Thats preposterous my father was the only air bender left in the whole world!!" Tenzin said with a shout startling the other councilman.
"Well it looks like avatar aang either wasn't the last airbender or he wasn't as spiritual as he let on" tarrlok said with a chuckle
"What did you just say?" Tenzin said with his face red with furry
"All right boys thats enough!" Lin shouted
"Right now we nmed to come up with a plan to protect the boy from the most notorious gang in republic city and other criminals who want nothing more that having an airbender in their service"
"Well its obvious that I'll take him in and teach him the ways of the nomad" tenzin said with finality
"But sir he's made it pretty clear that the nomadic life isn't for him" sister lily objected
"Don't worry miss he's still a child once I show him how strong he can become under my tutelage I'm sure he'll be enthusiastic about being a nomad, besides no offense to you're orphanage but air temple island has better facilities, better food, and its safely guarded by the white lotus making it the perfect place for practicing airbending as well as meditation" tenzin said while puffing out his chest in pride
"Yea and in exchange he'll have little to no freedom, won't be able to eat meat, will have to wear those atrocious robes and will have to shave his hair, sounds like quite a life" tarrlok said under his breath but was clearly heard by everyone
"W-well he'll have freedom to leave the temple any time he wants, he'll just have to have guards with him... And be back by 8" tenzin said with an embarrassed look
"And their are plenty of meat substitutes nowadays, and while the robes are mandatory he won't have to shave his head if he doesn't want to" tenzin finishes whit his face fully red with embarrassment this time
"And all of that is if he even accepts you're offer, I hope you weren't planning to force him to join you?" Tarrlok asked with a raised brow
"Ah yes of course if he accepts the offer" tenzin said regaining is bearings
"And even if he refuses your offer i'd be more than happy to take the boy onder my wing instead" tarrlok said with his same smile while the others gave him a side glance
"Yea right you just want a loyal dog to wag his tail at you're every command!" Lin spat
"Lin, I'm appalled at you're accusation's" tarrlok said looking taken aback "I dont want a dog as you put it I just want give the boy another option once he turns down tenzin, and while its true I'm no airbender everyone knows that waterbending and airbending go hand and hand in when it comes to style, I'm sure that I can impart some wisdom to him, not to mention help him control that temper in an environment that isn't as suffocating as the air nomads" tarrlok said finishing his sales pitch
"Rrrright" lin said while rolling her eyes
"For now I've already sent some of my metal benders to the orphanage to look out for any suspicious activity around the area, tenzin you should alert the white lotus and have them get ready for a fight, I have a feeling the triple threats will put more effort in obtaining him than what they try with your family" lin said as everyone began to prepare for the worst.
