Transmigration

On the dark hard ground laid an unconscious boy with closed eyes. He was thin and had short pitch-black hair, deep dark-blue eyes, wore rags and was covered in dirt from head to toe.

When he woke up, his eyelids wavered and he moaned, "My head," as he tried opening his eyes. Succeeding not on the first nor the second but on the third attempt, he saw the beautiful blue sky and a huge puffy white cloud covering the sun.

"What the hell happened?" he mumbled with confusion in his voice.

The cloud slightly moved and the sun no longer blocked by the cloud hit his face. He squinted his eyes in response and moved his left hand to block the sudden sun rays. But then he noticed something strange. "Why is my hand so small?" he mumbled once more.

Moving his eyes downwards, he couldn't help but exclaim in shock, "Why is my body so small?!"; then a stray thought went through his head, "Didn't something hit my head?"

He moved his left hand to the top of his head and began touching it thoroughly as he expected to find some kind of a bump, but he found no such thing. "Did I just imagine it?" he thought as he moved his hand away, but then a sudden pain assaulted his head. A burst of memories flashed through his head, but these were not the memories that he possessed. These were new memories.

"Drog?" he mumbled. "Who the hell is Drog?... These… These are my memories? Am I not Yun Xia? No! I am Yun Xia! I am certain of it! But these memories and this body..." a sudden realisation hit him – "I died and got transmigrated."

"No!" he shouted out. "I couldn't have died! Not me! I am the elite amongst the elite! It's not possible for me to die! A normal person can die but not me! I am Yun Xia! I do not fail at anything! And so, I did not fail at something as basic as living!" He attempted to get up but he found that he couldn't move his legs or his body.

"Why the hell can't I move?!" he shouted out angrily and a memory surfaced in his head. He frowned. "I was beaten to this state?" he thought. "Something hit my head and I was beaten up. There is proof of only the latter happening—but that means that I, Yun Xia had died and got transmigrated into Drog's body…." He closed his eyes and shook his head before saying in a clear loud voice, "No, that means that the world was threatened by my existence and attempted to take my life. But I survived by transmigrating into Drog's body. If the world finds out that it failed and I am alive, it may try to take my life once again… For the time being, I will discard my name Yun Xia and take on the name Drog."

Drog rested his body and explored the previous Drog's memories. From these memories, he found out that he was five years old and was an orphan. That he was no longer in China or Earth for that matter, but on the continent known as the Raikou continent. In which people were categorised into either cultivators or cripples. But these cripples were only referred to as cripples because they couldn't cultivate; they were looked down by upon everyone around them.

Drog also found out the reason why the previous Drog was beaten to death. It was because he ate a loaf of bread in front of the three children who wanted to extort it.

Drog rested until the sun disappeared from the horizon before attempting to move again. And this time he succeeded. He rose up from the ground and departed towards the only place that he knew of – the village that the previous Drog lived in for his entire life.

Finally arriving in the small village after half an hour of walking, he made his way to the house that the previous Drog called home. He opened the door and was met with the deadly stare of a woman in her twenties. She was the one that took care of all the orphans living in the village and she was known as big sister Ri.

"Drog! How dare you come back this late!" she shouted out with anger in her voice.

Drog looked at her for a short moment before apologetically bowing his head. "I am sorry, big sister Ri."

Big sister Ri heavily breathed out. "It is fine as long you understand that you were in the wrong to return so late."

"Yes, Big Sister Ri."

"Go to sleep."

Drog walked up to his bed which was just a sheet placed on the floor and laid down.

The night passed and the morning came. He rose up from the bed and the door to the house opened. Through it entered big sister Ri.

"You are awake?" she said with confusion in her voice.

"Good morning, big sister Ri," Drog said with a faint smile on his dirty face.

"Are you really Drog?" she said as from her memories Drog was always the one that had to be woken up.

Drog smiled. "I am."

Big sister Ri slowly nodded her head and said, "I prepared some water for you, go wash up."

"Thank you, big sister Ri," he said and walked out of the house. He walked behind the house and saw a bucket filled with water. He first washed his face. Then, he stripped off his clothes and washed his arms, chest, privates, legs and feet. "I don't want to put on these dirty clothes but I don't have any choice," he thought before putting on his dirty clothes. He returned into the house and saw big sister Ri preparing to start a fire so she could cook.

"Big sister Ri wait."

Big sister Ri turned her head back. "Why? Aren't you hungry? Don't you want to eat?"

"I want to. But more importantly, I want to become a cultivator."

"Why are you saying this to me now?!" she shouted out in surprise.

Drog slightly tilted his head to the right side. "If not now, then when?"

Big sister Ri's eyes widened. "You?!" She looked at Drog with a stunned look for a few seconds before saying, "The admission tests into the sect will be beginning soon. But if we hurry, we might make it. Let's go."

They hurried out of the house.

"Get on my back," big sister Ri said and Drog did what he was told.

Big Sister Ri made sure that Drog was holding on to her. "Don't let go and bury your head into my back! I will go at my fastest speed!"

"Okay, big sister Ri," Drog said and buried his head deep into big sister Ri's back. Her smell entered his nostrils and he couldn't help but think about his girlfriend. His grip on big sister Ri tensed up as he realised that he will never see Xue Yer ever again, the one that he loved more than anyone else. The one that was even more important to him than even he himself.

Big sister Ri nodded her head and dashed in the direction of north-west. She was moving so fast that the only sound Drog heard was the sound of the whistling wind.

They travelled for two hours until big sister Ri came to a complete stop. "We are here."

Drog pulled his head out of big sister Ri's back and got down from her. He saw that they were at some town's entrance.
