0002: BOTW System

After some time Arthur felt his senses coming back but it confused him because he was not in the hospital.

'What is happening? What is this dark place? Huh, what is that?'

He was feeling scared and at that time he saw something in the pitch-black darkness, at the corner were some small letters that were shining brightly.

'New Game? What the hell? Did I die and entered a game like those people from the web novels? Am I going to be reincarnated?'

Arthur was sceptical about all this situation but also somewhat hopeful, he has been living in a hospital for all the life that he remembered, he didn't have any family or any person that he knew as the doctors said that they all died in an accident, so he didn't even have a place to call home.

Hospital also kept him just because of his unique disease, they just wanted to research his unique condition.

While doctors always gave him anything that he asked for but there was one thing that he wanted the most, freedom... a thing he couldn't get.

Arthur wanted to see the outside world, so he searched for another option and at last found a world that helped him escape reality.

The world of games and animes.

He thought that by watching anime and playing games he would be able to escape reality yet he was wrong and as he watched more anime and played more games, it increased his thrust of freedom even more.

In the darkness, Alex looked at the word and tried to touch it but stopped at the last second, in his mind a different thought appeared.

It was about the nurse who took care of him for more than five years, he recalled how she took care of him every day and became somewhat hesitant, he didn't know what will happen to him after he touched the words or will he ever meet her again but that hesitation ended in no time as he said with a smile

"Nurse Angela, for more than five years you took care of me like your own child, I will never forget it, when I will meet you again I will repay you ten folds, this is the promise of this Arthur."

And with a hopeful smile on his face Arthur touched the words

[Ding!]

A sound rang in his head, he then slowly opened his eyes and was surprised by the view.

It looked like he was in a big medieval European room, it was very beautiful and was giving a sweet lavender smell, he slowly moved and saw that he was laying on a big king size bed and his head was resting on a soft red pillow.

There was no light bulb in the room, all the light was coming from two sources, one was the window from which sun rays were coming with the subtle breeze of air and another source was small shiny orbs that were embedded in the ceiling.

He slightly moved and felt pain all over his body but he ignored it and stood up from the bed, it was nothing compared to the pain he felt in his heart in his past life.

He looked at his hand and body and saw that it was somewhat smaller than his body from his previous life, it looked like a body of a 15 or 16-year-old boy.

"Hm, looks like I got transmigrated..."

He looked around to see if there was a mirror in the room and found one in the corner, he quickly came in front of it and got shocked.

"He is so beautiful, how did he die?"

The reflection in the mirror was of a 15 or 16 years old boy. The boy was somewhat small and looked malnourished still he was very good looking and cute. He had neck long purple hair and amber-coloured eyes that were like a burning ball of flames.

Arthur didn't know anything about his predecessor, but he knew that a person this good looking and this young would not die on his own and just by looking at his reflection he felt very sad, he could tell that there was a story behind this sad feeling, so Arthur pointed at the mirror and spoke as if talking to the previous guy.

"I don't know what your story was but it has not ended, I will complete your story. You have given your body to me, so from today onwards all your burdens will be mine."

Something happened as Arthur said that and a big line of text appeared in front of his eyes.

[Main Quest: Will of the Fallen.]

The texts appeared for some time then disappeared leaving behind a shocked Arthur whose mouth was wide open as he questioned.

"What was that? I have a system with me? How should I open it? Wait, it looked like the quest message from Breath of the wild game, then should I say Adventure Log?"

As Arthur said this, a screen appeared in front of him. It was the same as the Adventure Log from the BOTW game, in the left were four menus showing the main quest, shrine quest, side quest and memories while the right side was showing the description of the quests.

Arthur checked all four menus but they were empty except for the Main quest menu, which was showing the two quests.

He touched the first one and its description appeared on the right side

[Main Quest: Promise to Repay]

[Nurse Angela took care of you like her own family, repay her kindness tenfold by full filling her requests.

Quest Reward:- ???]

The description was short but it gave Arthur many hints.

Like if he is in another world then there should be a way to travel back to the earth but he knew that he won't be able to complete this quest now so he clicked the another quest

[Main Quest: Will of the Fallen.]

[Arthur Lionheart, wanted to do many things in his life that he couldn't do, you promised that you will share his burden so please complete this quest.

Chained quest: (0/8)

Quest will be started when certain conditions are met.]

After reading the description of this quest Arthur found many important things.

"Arthur Lionheart, so that is my name in this life...Arthur Lionheart...I like it and this quest, well I have not even left this room, I will think about it later."

Arthur said and started looking at the other things on the screen, he saw that there were two more things on the screen, one was the rupees icon on the upper right corner of the screen that showed that he had 0 rupees and another was the word 'Inventory' on the right side of the Adventure Log just like how it appeared on the console screen.

He swiped his hand on the screen and the screen moved and changed from Adventure Log to Inventory.

The inventory screen was also the same as the BTOW game, with the seven menus on the left side with the icon of Sword, Bow and arrow, Shield, Clothes, Material, Food, Key items.

There was also a 3D image of Arthur on the right side of the screen, he touched the screen and saw the 3D image copying him and also moving his arm.

"That's so cool"

Alex was surprised but controlled himself and checked the inventory but found that it was empty, he then swiped the screen once more to go to the next menu screen but the screen didn't move which confused Arthur.

"Where is the setting menu? Is it not there?"

He searched and found that there was no Setting menu.

"Looks like there are only these two menus, there is not even a map and runes, damn this is really how it felt when I opened the game for the first time...powerless...I don't even have a tree branch."

He was speaking to himself as he slowly walked to the window and looked outside, there was no big building in front of him like the hospital. The whole view was filled with plants was trees, it looked like a beautiful garden. After the garden was what looked like a city centre as he saw many stalls and houses, he looked carefully and even saw many people there.

Looking at this scene Arthur asked himself

"Is this the start of my new life?"
