5 Fighting fire

"No! You're doing all wrong!" Shouted Josie shaking her head. She and James were in the warehouse construction site practising using Josie's fire ability but it was proving to be a more challenging thing to teach that it first seemed.

"Hey! That's easy for you to say. The only expirience I have with creating fireballs is in videogames and all I needed to do then was press a button." exclaimed James who was exhausted from training all day.

"Look, if there was anything to make this easier I would have already brought it...Oh. On second thoughts, I may have just remembered something. During our training days as young fire elementals, we were given bracelets with a small piece of crystal in them that would help us control our abilities. If I remember correctly then there is a couple of those bracelets in my ship that we keep in case of emergencies. If we can find were they landed after my ship exploded then you'll find it easier to control fire."

"One problem, where did they land?"

"Easy, they give off quite a strong radiation of energy so all I need to do is sense where it's coming from and we'll be on our way!"

Josie concentrated and searched in all directions until she found the bracelets. They were a mile South of where James had been training so it didn't take long to walk there. They then arrived at a metal fence with a sign that read: 'NO UNAUTHORISED PERSONNEL BEYOND THIS POINT! TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT!'

"I guess we won't be able to get the bracelets then." said James with an angry and sad tone.

"Don't give up so easily. Jump the fence, run and get the bracelets and then run back. Simple!" said Josie trying to encourage James. James looked left and right to see if anyone was around and saw there was not a single person in the fence off area. He built up confidence and in one swift motion he vaulted over the fence and began to run. He didn't want to stay for long.

"Turn 20 degrees right and go straight 4 metres." echoed Josie's voice. James could see a small black box on floor in the middle of a small crater. It looked burnt and pretty beat up from both the explosion and fall. Without stopping, James grabbed the box, turned around, ran back, and vaulted the fence again.

"I am defiantly not doing that again." said James laughing.

After returning to the warehouse, James opened the box to reveal four silver bracelets with tiny pieces of diamond shaped crystal in them. Picking one up, he slipped it onto his wrist and it immediately started to change shape. Shrinking to a snug fit on his arm and extending an extra two inches, the crystal glowed red. A massive flood of energy filled James and he felt as if he was burning up. By instinct he thrusted out his hand and fire gathered as if out of thin air and swirled into a ball in front of his hand. With all his might he threw the ball at the far wall and watched as it rocketed towards the concrete before hitting it's mark with a mighty explosion. Taking example from anime, he held both of his hands above his head and channelled his energy to his palms. Another fireball appeared and grew to massive ball that looked like a miniature star. James could feel it's weight pushing down on him as he swung his arms forward and threw the ball. Once again it hit it's mark but the explosion was even mightier and blew most of the wall out.

"Having fun?" said Josie laughing.

"Hell yeah! I've never felt more alive. It's as if I've got a while new body." exclaimed James who had given up on containing his excitement.

"Good, now that you can control fire a bit easier, let's get into more complicated techniques. How about we start with..."
