17 So what had happened was

"And this is why we do lower class dungeons, even though they are still dangerous but with the right supervision I'm sure I can bring back at least ninety percent of you alive. Just remember your teachings, never go away from the group and never panic. Follow those three simple rules and you'll make it ninety one percent certainty." Professor Zak would chuckle at his own comment. He gathered up all the papers with signatures from the students stating they have been properly instructed on what not to do during the exercise.

Once the professor sits down a portal opens near his desk startling him to fall over on his chair. In that same moment a booming sound erupts from the portal making everyone cover their ears.

"Olivia Greyheart and Familiar, come through this portal time now." The voice was rough, yet calm and collected. Olivia stands up and walks towards the portal, Seraph pokes her eyes out from the scarf to see what's going to happen.

Iremn, Academy of Mages, Grand Magus Sanctuary

Olivia steps through the portal, after a flash of light they are in a big auditorium  with a dual stairway in front of them leading to a cavern and a desk just in front of it. Olivia walks up the staircase until nearing the top she sees the Grand Magus at the desk. She presses on knowing what will happen. The Grand Magus would be reading a few books in front of her, she looked up to see the two and sighed while looking behind her closing three books she was reading with air magic.

"You know i can't be bothered to deal with every child y'know?" The Grand magus would say over her shoulder before looking at Olivia. She motions Olivia to take a seat in front of her desk.

"Alright let's see what you did." A few papers would warp to her desk, she glances over each one and looks at Olivia Once In a while. Until she clasped her hands together and leaned in.

"Can your familiar come out for us?" Grand Magus would stare Olivia dead in the eyes, almost like she was looking at something over her. After a few seconds Seraph hops from Olivia's neck and lands on the desk.

Seraph would look at the Grand Magus and the big green dragon behind her. She waved her paw at the dragon.

'Hewwo weird human and spooky drago, is this because I killed a hooman?' Seraph would look around at the books the Grand Magus had laid out, a lot of them were as thick as a brick.

"Yes, you killed Borris Eberhart, a prominent Beta with a heavy financial family backing up the school's funding. You are here to be judged for your actions and all that crap. Say your side of the story and we'll determine a fitting punishment. If I don't find the response satisfactory and ultimately a waste of my time you'll die right here and now." The Grand Magus pulled out two objects, an hourglass and a bag of candy. She flips the hourglass and starts popping candy into her mouth as she provides most of her attention to both the familiar and the girl.

'I was searching for my human, and found her being bullied by a hooman. I removed restraints on my human and we went to leave the area. The hooman decided to escalate the situation by blocking our path. He disrespected my master so I thought I'd give him and his familiar a swift death. We went to class to study for some dungeon thingy we'll be going to later.' Seraph was going to add more detail until the Grand Magus raised her hand.

"You're telling me you killed a human because they disrespected your master?" She puts her right hand against her face sighing heavily

'To be fair I would have killed the crowd of forty humans just watching and not doing anything my human said not to.' Seraph would wag her tails, she looked over at the green dragon laughing his ass off Inside the cavern.

Olivia watched the situation in confusion, because the Grand Magus and Seraph kept looking at the cavern.

"Alright, I have a rough idea of your mentality. You're practically a danger towards this establishment so I need to eliminate the threat. Any last words before I blow you up?" The Grand Magus puts a spell around Seraph's neck.

'I regret nothing?' At that response Seraph's head explodes leaving black and purple blood all over the desk and on Olivia.

The green dragon shaked his head, continuing to chuckle.

'That familiar was pretty funny, did you really have to kill her?' The green dragon showed itself scaring Olivia to fall backwards

"If I didn't kill it, it would have killed many more assets and I'm not exactly the kind of person to worry about financial issues. I protect the Empire and create mages, I don't do paperwork because a familiar decides to kill financial assets." The Grand Magus turns back to talk to Olivia, but what she was about to say got interrupted by a pillar of light slamming across her jaw launching her into the green dragon. The dragon was pushed back several feet before stopping the momentum of his master. They both looked at the top of the desk at the monstrosity before them.

Seraph's body still stood perfectly upright, but where her head was is replaced by a vortex of black and purple blood swirling around at high speeds. All the blood on Olivia and the desk flew towards Seraph. Bones started to uproot from Seraph's spinal column creating a skull, the blood formulates around the skull creating veins, muscle and finally skin with fur growing out. The final product was Seraph's original face, no damage or scar was left. It was like she never got attacked in the first place.

'Ow! That fucking hurts! Since my human said I can't kill I'm going to disable the fuck out of you.' Seraph launches herself towards the Grand Magus, she gets smashed by a giant green tail. The dragon smashes the same location three more times before he wreaths in pain, part of his tail was eroding thanks to a black miasma where Seraph was. The Grand Magus relocated her jaw and cast a high tiered containment spell. Seraph finds herself inside a bubble of water, surrounded by raging fires, lightning flares and sands flying about in different directions forcing Seraph to turn about within.

"What the hell is that thing!" The Grand Magus looked at her dragon. She would cast multiple spells to layer the structural integrity of the prison she just made.

'I'm going to say Immortal for sure, kind of like my dad except very small.' He'd use healing magic on his tail to fix what he could. He stopped once a flying object smashed his snout in, cracking his nasal cavity. He fell backwards into the cavern walls taking some scratches from the shards of rocks lodged underneath his scales. Seraph jumps from his nose and smashes down towards the Grand Magus. The Grand Magus dodges the attack, having her dragon take a gut punch for her. She was about to create a portal to escape but spears of light surrounded her, thousands of lights blanketed the air all pointing at her.

"Stop fighting!" Olivia screamed to the top of her lungs before falling on her knees. All of the light fades into obscurity, Seraph leaps from the dragon's stomach and lands near Olivia nuzzling her hair.

The dragon and Grand Magus just stare at Olivia for a minute then at the familiar. Their wounds seemingly heal from a strange light which returns to the familiar.

'I think you need to approach this situation differently, unless you want our asses thrown about by that immortal.' The green dragon would lift up the Grand Magus and bring her behind the desk. She spins the chair slowly and sits adjusting a few books that got dusted from the fight. She cleared out her throat and looked at Olivia.

"So what had happened was an idiot courting death disrespecting a familiar's master. I shall request a pardon from the family for raising an insolent child, as for your familiar… I would like to suggest you send her to the familiar educational program to ensure the death rate of this school will remain minimal. There's the portal to return to your room, you're excused from class today to talk with your familiar." The Grand Magus lays back in her chair watching the two leave through the portal. The chair breaks, having the Grand Magus fall backwards onto the floor. She stays there for a bit contemplating life choices.

"Boris, I'm scheduling for another vacation. Inform the Elders that the ancient laws need to be in effect for Olivia Greyheart and her familiar. Anyone who does harm outside of schooling is subject to execution by the familiar or by staff members if they even make it in time." Rachel would lay there just looking at the ceiling for a while until Boris looked down at her.

'Hey it could have been worse, if that immortal wasn't bound to the human girl we'd be in a more precarious situation than we are in as of now.' The green dragon would run his back from all the rocks lodged up his scales. He also checked his nose a few times just to make sure it was still there.

'Why is a Immortal with a human, bonded by a contract no less. Like what the hell I had my whole day planned out. Kill the brats pet, enjoy some coffee, read a few books and get some sleep. Now I'm just tired and my jaw hurts.' Rachel would pout and she removed a pillow in her desk and smothered herself with it.

Iremn, Academy of Mages, Olivia's room

After stepping through the portal Olivia plops on the bed. Seraph hops up and nudges her to check if she's alright but gets her face smushed.

"What are you really?" Olivia didn't remove her face from the sheets she muffled in.

'I'm Seraph, just a fur ball who doesn't take shit from anyone.' Seraph flicked her tails side to side, wondering what her human was thinking.

"Why are you so violent? Why can't you be more considerate." Olivia looked at Seraph for a brief moment.

'I'm sorry whose head exploded? And you're telling me I shouldn't be a little pissed off since some old lady wanted to kill me on the spot? Though the familiars pact meant we were friends not that you'd question why I didn't roll over and die for that hooman.' Seraph was annoyed, staring at Olivia so she jumped off and went for the door.

"Where are you going?" Olivia stood up to watch Seraph explode the door open with her light magic.

'I'll be over at the Familiars Sanctuary since they were curious and respectful for who I am more than you are at this moment. Consider our pact over.' The chains binding both shattered within that very moment, causing the magic lights to flicker and spark. Seraph walked out of her room and went straight to the sanctuary.

Seraph's rage would disrupt the mana flow within the hallway, physically warping the walls into unnatural shapes wherever she passed. Soon she calmed down once she saw the familiar sanctuary, she opened the doors and went inside. The trees and grassy area still held true, so she hopped up one of the trees and rested her head there. Some familiars showed themselves wondering why she was there, but the aura she was giving off made them decide to talk to her another time.

Daemons mountains, forested regions, maw

Within the kilometer radius of the summoning circle there were three clad in black iron armor, these three searched the grounds until they converged on the spot Seraph cuddled her tails. The one with red markings is the first to speak.

'The summoning was completed. The demon lord will be pleased to hear this.' He took a few strands of hair and threw them into the air, a dark magic with a purple aura surrounds the hair.

'It is flawed, but possibility to mitigate condition is ensured.' The black iron soldier with blue markings would state as he took soil samples.

'Humans tracked it, premature pact could of been established. Our lord will not be satisfied for such.' The black iron soldier with orange markings said while looking at several old prints under the newborn grass that's starting to grow over the recent devastation.

The hair faded into nothing and the dark magic returned to the red marked soldier. He stands up and looks towards the setting sun.

'The familiar has recently broken a pact, it is experiencing confusion and anger. Perfect conditions for coercion. Gladifer Empire currently holds it.' He adjusts his gauntlets, each one springs out twin blades from the sides pointing one meter in front of his hands

'Suggestion, diversion of humans. Create some necrohorrors should suffice.' The blue marked would take out a triangular bottle and present it to red marked.

'Only concern is Grand Magus and green dragon, Rest are weaklings.' Orange marked would stomp on one of the human skulls that were present.

'Blue shall create the diversion, orange and I will overpower those in our path. Blue rejoin once diversion is set, admiring personal work not recommended.' Red marked walked forward only to be distorted out of sight, blue and orange marked did the same leaving the summoning site quiet once again.
