40 Awful News

Inside his consciousness, he met Eroditus and Skyrion again who never stops bickering against each other.

"Cow-man, I already said that this place was made for you to graze on!" Skyrion mocked.

"Are you dumb? This place was made for you to plant the seeds after you ate the fruit, self-proclaimed God of pigeons!" Eroditus retorted as they are fighting in front of a large expanse of land.

"What's this place?" Luis asked when he saw the land.

"We just saw it now when I was wandering around your consciousness, but I didn't know this God of pigeons is following me here," Eroditus explained.

"No! I found it first Cow-man! That's why I'm giving this place for you to graze on!" Skyrion mocked.

"Stop it you two! Let's first see what this place is." Luis stopped the two from fighting as he walked towards the land.

He felt that the land was energy abundant and is suitable for planting medicinal herbs.

He walked further and the energy changed, it is still energy abundant but the temperature is hot.

He walked further and the further he gets the more the characteristics of the soil changed.

From hot to cold into damp and static. It felt like this land has all of the environment where different classes of herbs lived.

"Wait for me here! Let me try something!" Luis exclaimed as he concentrated to get out of his consciousness.

After a few tries, he found the way to enter and exit his consciousness at his will.

He heads towards the Alchemy Room and gathered the herbs he stored and tried the method he discovered to enter his consciousness to bring the herbs inside. He succeeded on his first try.

He made his way back to the land and tried to plant the herbs in the suitable lands that they might prosper.

The Crimson Dragon Lily was planted in the lands where the energy is hot.

He planted the Peeler Mushnion and Yellow Spotted Mushroom on the damp lands and finally, he put the petal of the Mystique Flower in the pond that was in the middle of the lands.

"Wait, if I remember correctly, the book left by Chad mentioned that an independent mental space was included in the spell? I think this is that space he mentioned?" Luis thought as he roamed around this land which spans hundreds of kilometers.

"I guess a human mind is really so vast that can't be compared to the world we're living!" Skyrion muttered.

"I'll leave this place to you Eroditus, please take good care of my herbs!" Luis handed the responsibility towards Eroditus.

"Why not me?" Skyrion asked Luis.

"I don't trust you with this responsibility because I'm afraid that you will mess things up!" Luis responded.

"That hurts!" Skyrion playfully tried to look sad in a sarcastic way.

"At least I didn't call you God of pigeons! Be happy that I didn't mock your title as the God of the Sky!" Luis snorted as he went out of his consciousness and took a rest.

Morning came and their celebration continued as some of the members smell something fishy going on between Jay and Julianne.

They usually hang out together and Jericho also said that Jay frequently came to School of Combat to fetch Julianne for a dinner. The two became the focus of the teasing at their party.

Two hours passed when a knock can be heard from the front door. It opened by itself as Mufar entered the house.

"Good morning bro!" Luis greeted but when he saw Mufar's expression, a frown emerged from his face.

"What happened? Is something matter?" Luis asked seriously.

"Can we talk, alone?" Mufar requested. Luis nodded and guided his big bro towards his library.

"What happened?" Luis asked as soon as they sat down.

"I think I need to inform you about this," Mufar spoke worriedly as he looked straight into Luis's eyes.

"What's wrong? I don't feel good about this..." Luis spoke anxiously as his heart beats fast that one can feel it when they touched his chest for a moment.

"Eristreas Town is no more..." Mufar sadly informed as a look of guilt appeared on his face.

"What do you mean by no more?" Luis asked but after a moment, he regretted what he just asked because of the response that he received.

"It was destroyed... The faction that followed Chaos attacked the town. No people were spared from that attack, men, women, children, and the elderly. Nothing was spared... Even Old man Dave died trying to save the town." Mufar responded with guilt as he saw the devastating look at the young man's expression.

"No!" Luis shouted that echoed inside the house as he ran fast outside his house, tears running down from his face.

"What happened?" Alyssa asked as she looked at Mufar confused.

"Let him be... He received a piece of awful news. The man needs some time alone." Mufar responded with a sad look.

"What news?" Serion asked as Mufar told Luis's story to them from before he entered Divine Prophecy until now and then he told them the awful fate of the town where Luis came before and the fate of his foster parent who took care of him.

The cheerful atmosphere suddenly made a turn and became gloomy after they heard everything.

Julianne even cried after she heard the story as a tear escaped from everyone's eyes.

They all felt the sorrowful feeling Luis had just from the story, what more to the one who is in the story itself.

Night came and Luis still didn't come home, so the Sky Chasers and Mufar decided to find him.

When they are about to leave the house, a howl echoed inside the house as Luna ran towards them.

"I think Luna is trying to tell us something?" Alyssa stopped as she picked up Luna. It howled as it tried to escape from the lady's arm.

It pointed its paws towards a direction and ran towards it.

"Let's follow her! I think Luna knows where her master was!" Mufar directed as they followed the wolf pup.

They noticed that they are running from the side of the river towards the opposite direction where it flows.

After an hour, they reached a place where a waterfall can be seen. It looked so beautiful as the moon shines brightly towards the water flowing down as it shimmers.

On a large boulder was a man who was sitting facing the waterfall while hugging his knees closer.

This is the first time that they saw the backbone of their team, the mastermind, and influencer of the Sky Chaser, this broken deep inside.

The man was crying as the light of the moon was reflected from his tears.

The scene was so sad that the team didn't notice that they are also tearing up and crying.

The sorrow and pain that Luis felt were transmitted to all of them as they all felt how painful it was for him to hear the news.

They hide as they watch the man mourning alone above the boulder.

The longer they watch him crying alone, the more they felt the pain. They didn't notice that their marks from the back of their hands are slowly fading as it slowly changed from their respective mentors' mark, into a brand new mark.

A mark of a wolf that has a pair of wings and flying past the clouds.

The insignia of the Sky Chasers was branded as they all felt the connection that they made because of this sad event.

Tears continued to pour down as memories of the past continued to reveal themselves like a sad movie flashing in front of him.

The sound of the leaves rustling as the wind blows and of the water crashing from the top of the cliff, gives the solemn silent night sounds as sobs of a mourning young man gives the sad vibes that even the beasts around the forest felt the overflowing emotions of the young man.

Hours passed and the young man was still sobbing as the sun slowly rises from the horizon.

"I know you're there guys, come out!" Luis spoke with a broken voice.

The team come out and approached him with red teary eyes as they surrounded the young man and gave him a tight, warm hug and from there, he knew that there's still a family that is willing to share these emotions that he felt.

"Bro, I want to go to Eristreas Town now. Is there any carriage that is going that way?" Luis asked while sniffing.

Luna jumped towards his embrace as the wolf pup caressed its head as if she was comforting her master.

"I'm afraid there isn't any carriage available right now," Mufar responded.

Luis only nodded as a response, he strolled towards the forest as he looked back to his teammates.

"Wanna come with me?" Luis asked.

"We won't leave you alone! Remember that!" Alyssa responded as they walked towards him and they were devoured by the ground.

"My apprentice became strong very fast. I didn't even have the chance to be a mentor to him!" Mufar muttered as he wiped the tears from his face.
