2 I Will do it

Marie looked attentively around while she guarded the area with her fellow soldiers, the back entrance of the palace didn't lose in points of beauty against the front entrance the staircase was at least 2 to 3 meters wide, at both sides of the big metal ornamented door was a statue with a height of around 5 meters and decorated with gold and other expensive metals.

How much alone one of the gold statues had cost? How many days could I live if I had this much money to built one? Marie thought to herself while she admired the view.

And so the time passed while nothing happened sometimes they could hear shots in the near vicinity, but often it was 2-3 streets away.

"Commander how long do we have to wait here? I Am sick of guarding this place."

"Just be patient and wait till I give the call to leave this area."

Soon after their conversation it started to rain and the already cold weather with the rain didn't made the wait any easier. As none of the soldiers including Marie, Jack and the commander bring any raincoats with them they could only endure being wet.

After a while a gunshot could be heard again and as always Marie and the rest focused on the environment to spot any incoming human. This time as well there wasn't any movement whatsoever and so the only sound that could be heard was the falling drops of water crashing onto the ground.

Suddenly there was a gunshot again and after the sound of the shot faded away a dump sound could be heard Marie immediately looked into the direction where the sound came from only to see that one of her fellow comrades lied on the ground with blood all around him.

"Everyone seek cov-…"

The commander could not even speak his sentence to end before the second gunshot could be heard. His body was now on the ground like the other soldier who was shot.

And so, Marie and the others looked around to see if there is any cover to be safe against the marksmen.

Marie and Jack hurried inside the palace to guard themselves so that they will not be killed. And so did the other 2 remaining soldiers, while Jack and Marie where on the right side of the door entrance the other 2 where on the left side.

"Jack do you know where the shots came from?"

"How should I know there are tons of buildings and locations where they could have been."

The discussion went on and the other 2 soldiers also gave their opinions on this matter. One of the soldiers was called Wolfgang, he was a bulky man around 30 years of age and you could see that he participated in quite a few battles before this.

The other man was called Reinhart he is a very tall skinny person and he gave the impression that this was his first assignment he got after finishing his training.

"Somebody has to give the leadership a status report that we get attacked." Said Wolfgang while looking outside the door to see if any rebels are approaching to this position.

"I will do it." Uttered Marie while looking at Jack, Wolfgang and Reinhart.
