16 A Ray of Hope

When he was supposed to make his case, Elian instead found himself out of words, just looking at him. Kian appeared slightly overworked, there were dark circles under his eyes, his hair were untidy and his skin had become a little pale, however the charm in his countenance was still intact. Elian could feel his pheromones leaking just by staring at the omega.

He shook off the thoughts in his head and said nervously, "I came to apologize to you for-". "I don't want your apology, so quit wasting my time", Kian interrupted. "You gave me a minute so just hear me out", he requested. He took a deep breath and turned around to face the wall, "I know that this isn't a fair excuse but I still feel the need to explain myself. I've never been a considerate human being because I have always assumed that it is okay for me to be bitter since I've been through pain that other people fail to comprehend. But that day when I saw the tears welling in your eyes, I felt like looking in the mirror, I felt like I was hurting myself. It made me realize that I can't live like this anymore. I can't hate yo-", before he could complete his sentence he heard a loud thud that made him turn around. Kian was laying on the floor, unconscious. Elian sprinted towards his body and patted his cheeks multiple times but it didn't help. Unable to think of anything, he picked him up in his arms and carried his body to his car.

(An hour later)

"Why am I here waiting for him to wake up like I'm his boyfriend? I should just leave", Elian thought to himself while sitting on a wooden bench in a hospital alley, with a black face mask covering his face and navy blue polo cap on his head. But for an unknown reason he couldn't move, a part of him was deeply concerned about Kian.

Eventually a doctor stepped out of the ward and Elian quickly stood up in his place, "Is he going to be okay?", he asked worriedly. "You must be his partner! Don't worry, he fainted because of the weakness. I think he has been skipping meals. It is important not to do so during pregnancy, in fact you should focus more on nutrition considering his hemoglobin is surprisingly low for someone his age", the doctor spoke without letting Elian the time to react. "What? Wait a minute he is... he is pregnant?" , he asked. "Oh you didn't know? That's alright, he's just two weeks in, you can tell him yourself" he patted his shoulder and walked away.

Elian stood there utterly stunned, "Two weeks? That's exactly long how it's been since that night-", while he was still processing all this information he felt a firm hand on his shoulder. He turned around instinctively and a punch landed on his face. "What did you do to him? Where is he? I shouldn't have let you near him in the first place", the man said aggressively. Elian took a proper look at his face and realized it was Levi Henderson. He came again at him and held him by his collar, "Where is he?", he asked. "I didn't do anything to him, he fainted so I brought him to the hospital and…", the man loosened his hold and let go. "That isn't your job! You should've told me if that was the case", he scolded. "I know but I just freaked out", Elian defended. Levi turned his face away from him and looked around, "Where's he? Is he okay?". "He is okay but….", Elian hesitated, he felt slightly scared of revealing what he had just learned given that he was responsible. "But what?", Levi asked with a worried face. "He is pregnant and apparently it is, I mean I'm just making a guess considering that he is two weeks in, I think it is mine", he said hoping he doesn't get punched again.

However, when he peeked at Levi, he saw him standing completely still. When he saw the concern on his face, Elian began to grasp the gravity of the situation. He began thinking about what this meant for him, "A child?" he thought.

He had never thought about having kids as a part of his future. As a matter of fact, he'd never thought about the future, he was just living like a zombie until now, barely trying. It was first time for him worrying about something like this. Would it be difficult to take care of it? What would it look like? Like him or Kian? How would his brother and Irene react to such news? What would it mean for his and Kian's relationship?, several questions appeared in his head. However, despite the feelings of worry there was something blissful about it. He hadn't felt like this in a long time, a feeling that you only have when you have family. "Yeah, the child would be my family", he thought.

After a long pause Levi spoke, "I think you should leave now, I'll take care of the rest", he said in a calm voice. "I can't just leave, I'm entirely involved in this", Elian protested. "Kian is not going to be happy when he learns about this, I know he wouldn't want this child and I don't think you'd want people to know about your involvement with an omega either, so you should just leave". His heart sank listening to those words, a certain sadness took over him. "I would like to talk to him about this", he demanded. "Are you not listening to me? This isn't about you, it's about him and it has to be his decision", Levi argued. "This is about me too, I have a right to interfere, but all I'm asking for is a chance to talk to him about this. He can have the last say", Elian said in a stern voice. Levi felt his demand was fair, "Alright, but I'll be in the room this time".

Kian was sitting on the hospital bed with a glass of water in his hand when the two entered. "Why is he still here? You said you'd make him leave", Kian frowned looking at Elian and Uncle Lee. "He brought you here after you fainted", Uncle Lee answered in a low voice. "Oh so he's waiting for me to thank him?", Kian retorted. The other two remained silent and only glanced at each other and then looked back at him.

"What is happening?", Kian sensed that something was wrong. "I brought you here because you fainted, but then the doctor told me that yo-you're, that you're pregnant ", Elian revealed. Kian's body froze, his eyes widened and the glass slipped from his hand spilling water all over the white sheets. For a moment he looked like he had forgotten how to speak. Just when he thought things couldn't get any worse, there it was, his worst nightmare. He calmed himself down, "Did he say really say that? Can abort it right away?", he asked looking at Uncle Lee, who instead turned to Elian, who looked completely disheartened. "You're just two weeks in so I guess you can but I have a proposal", Elian replied on his behalf. "Please just leave now!! I can't tolerate you anymore!!", Kian cried and rolled his head into his hands. Elian reached closer towards the bed and kneeled right next to him, "I know you hate me, but I came today to apologize and I know you're not doing well….but if you carry my child I'm willing to give you anything. Anything I promise, just let it live. I would do anything you want. And I know that in the end it would be your decision, but I'm begging you, let it live", Elian pleaded. Kian looked at his face, his eyes were filled with tears. Kian got off the bed and left the room without saying a word.
