4 Chapter 3

Third Person POV



It was Thursday, Mae's fourth day of school. She went home late the night before because she was with Yvonne, Lane, and Rane at the mall. The bright sun woke her up. She has two classes today, Marketing Management at 10 am and Marketing Research at 12 noon. She went straight to the bathroom to brush her teeth and take a bath.

After an hour, she walked into her walk-in closet and grabbed her black long sleeves shirt and her long skirt. She matched her outfit with a pair of plain black sandals. She went to school after grabbing her school works.

On the other hand, Hero, Trever and Roland were on the way to their Marketing Management class. Both Eleanor and Dash's management class were held by Prof. Villegas. Mae was surprised when she saw them coming in. They easily attracted the girl's attention. She and Rane were sitting beside each other.

"I forgot to tell you that we have the same teacher in marketing management" Rane whispered when she noticed Eleanor's confused look. Elly nod at her and then looked in their direction. She was more surprised by what Hero did next. He sat next to Eleanor that made her cover her mouth in shock. He smiled at her.

"W-why are y-you here?" She unconsciously asked.

He frowned. " Of course I'm here for class"

" I- I mean why sit beside me?" her heart was beating so fast. Her heart and mind were arguing. She has a boyfriend but her heart is skipping its beat for someone else.

"Just because I want to" he answered and smiled. It wasn't just a smile. It was a smile as if he's going to make fun of her.

"Hey" Rane's voice suddenly arose. The boys and Mae looked at her. "Are you going to make fun of her?"

"Maybe?" Hero teasingly said. Trever and Roland looked at Hero. Is he serious? They were thinking of the same question.

"I thought you've changed?" — Roland.

"Yeah" he nodded and looked at Roland who was sitting beside him. This made them confused. "What I meant was she..." he then pointed at Elly "is going to be my only target" this made Elly nervous. She was going to say something but Mr.Villegas came.

Elly was not able to concentrate in class. It was as if her mind was floating. She can feel Hero's look. He was also not listening. He's looking at her while her head was on the table. She's trying to pretend that she feels nothing.

"Until when are you going to look at me like that?" she asked that question in a low volume.

He smirked, " Until I'm satisfied". Her eyes widen and immediately looked away from him. She could feel her cheeks were burning hot. She avoided his look so he couldn't see her cheeks turning red. Her heart was beating so fast again. He was so straightforward.

Until their class was over, she was still avoiding his eyes. She was too nervous to meet them. She was going to go straight to the bathroom but she was stopped by the hands who grabbed her wrist. She looked at the hands and to the face of the person who opens them. It was Trever.

"W-what?" she nervously asked.

"You dropped your phone" his voice was so cold. She got chills because of his tone.

"Ahh thank you" she muttered and grabbed her phone. She was going to go outside but was stopped again. This time it was Hero. She still couldn't look at him.

"Ughhh! What now?!" Rane asked as she was annoyed.

Hero lowered his face. He bent forward which makes his face a few inches away from Elly face. Even though their faces were so near, she still avoided her eyes. He smiled " I think you owe me something"

"What is it?"

He stood straight. " Come to our room after your class and I'll tell you" then he walked towards the door. He was laughing inside while looking so calm outside. Elly and Rane were the only ones left inside their room. Eleanor couldn't keep but to bite her lips because of the nervousness running all throughout her body.

She can't help but think about what she owes to Hero. The two of them went straight to the cafeteria because Rane didn't eat breakfast. Her hands were cold and her heart was racing so fast.

"Girl, relax," Rane said advising not to worry when she noticed how cold Mae's hands were. Mae took a deep breath and finished the sandwich they ordered. After twenty minutes they finished eating and went straight to Mr. Pascual's class, their Marketing Research professor.

Time went by so fast and their class ended. Mae was arranging her things and notes when she remembered what Hero told her. "Come to our room after your class and I'll tell you"

"aishh!!" she annoyingly shouted. "why couldn't he just tell me earlier?"

"who?" Rane totally forgot about what Hero told Mae earlier.

"Who else? Hero!!" she started to feel nervous again. "Can you come with me?" and pouted to Rane.

She put her hands on two sides of Mae's face and shook her head "I'm sorry but Hero doesn't want anyone to hear when he talk to someone in private. All I can do is take you to their room and wait for you outside"

"Okay" she nodded lazily and then they left the classroom. After ten minutes of walking, they arrived at a room named 'The Pent'

"Good luck!" Cailey teasingly said.

She grabbed the doorknob and slowly opened the door of that room. She went in and was amazed by what she saw. There were two luxurious couches, one facing the door and one facing the huge television. The center table was made of glass. That place has a billiard table. There was a shelf full of books. There was a chandelier above the center table. She went to the kitchen and saw clean and shining counters and utensils. There were two other doors, one for the bathroom and she don't know what the other room was used for.

Hero closed the door of that room and faced Mae's direction. "Sit down," he said in a formal tone.

She was nervous, again. She looked around as if she's finding something and noticed that the other members of the group were not there. She looked at Dash and asked, "W-where are the others?"

He sat on the couch which was facing the door and crossed his arms. " Blaze is in his duty in O. Hospital, Axel is in his class, Roland and Trever went home."

Mae took a deep breath and then straightforwardly asked "So what do you want from me?" she tried to hide her nervousness by asking him but Dash slightly smiled upon seeing Mae trembling hands. This made Mae frown.

"Actually, I know your secret" Mae was shocked by what he said. Does this mean he knows that she's in disguise?

"What?!" she asked subconsciously.

"your secret" he repeated what he said. This made Mae's eyes widen. "I know you're in disguise"

"H-how?" she asked.

"I saw you even before school started, you were shopping with your dad and then on the first day of the class, I saw you going ut of a luxurious car and then your father saw me and asked me to protect you. there I know that time he was a major stockholder of this school" he said. "and then I saw your Gucci pouch earlier."

She opened her mouth in awe. She couldn't believe that he found out so soon. "Can I ask you a favor?" she couldn't meet his eyes.

"What favor?"

"Can you keep it a secret?" she hesitantly asked

"Sure. But..." he deliberately cut off what he was going to say. Eleanor looked at him with a questioning look. "In one condition"

"w-what condition?"

"You'll do everything I want," he uttered.
