3 Divine Grasping, Safe and Sound!

Fire chief, Qi Lixue, received a report that a student wanted to commit suicide at Huashang University.

After hanging up, he rushed to the scene with his crew.

As soon as the fire engine entered the university campus, they saw a young girl squatting on the roof of the laboratory block. Qi Lixue immediately gestured to the accompanying police cars to turn off the siren so as not to alarm the rescue target.

The police swiftly swung into action maintaining order and preventing the onlookers from making provocative gestures to further agitate the suicidal subject.

As Qi Lixue and his men were setting up the safety air-mattress, they were startled to see a small fig tree right in the middle of the road! In this critical life-or-death situation, they did not have time to chop down the tree.

The firefighters tried ways and means to place the air mattress, but to no avail. In the end, they settled on laying mattresses on both sides of the tree. The leafy canopy of the tree might even serve as a buffer to cushion the fall.

After the rescue equipment was in place, the firefighters hastily prepared themselves to go upstairs to talk to the suicidal subject.

At this precise moment, a black shadow rapidly bore down on them overhead. The onlookers covered their eyes and started screaming!

"She has jumped down!"

"Ah! Somebody save her!"

Qi Lixue looked up, squinting his eyes.

Horrified, he thought, She really jumped! This is not good!

The falling shadow loomed bigger and bigger in Qi Lixue's eyes. Before he could swallow his breath, an even bigger shadow followed right behind!

Qi Lixue gasped. Why was there another imitator?!

Before he could react, the bigger shadow grabbed the falling girl with one hand, and with the other, grabbed hold of the edge of the building!

A collective roar of astonishment erupted from the onlookers as they watched the couple swaying in the air!

"That guy caught her!"

"Damn, he's quite cute! Which class is he from?"

At this moment, Chen Yeliang, who was hanging outside the building like a piece of laundry, was still in a state of shock. Fortunately, he reacted quickly. Otherwise, he would really be dead!

He raised his arm with all his might and tried to pull Lan Sixi up.

However, at the slightest movement, Lan Sixi would scream and struggle violently, twisting Chen Yeliang's arm until it hurt.

"Lan Sixi, stop struggling! Otherwise, both of us will be finished!" Chen Yeliang shouted.

Unfortunately, no words could penetrate the mind of a person in a state of crisis.

Lan Sixi's shoulder was beginning to hurt. With her free hand she covered half her face and cried, "Sob sob sob! Daddy save me. Daddy save me!"

The wind at the top of the building caused the two of them to sway precariously. Their combined weight fell on Chen Yeliang's single arm, and the constant scraping against the rough concrete ledge caused painful abrasions.

The cement dust seeped into the wounds, causing Chen Yeliang to grimace in pain.

He shouted with all his might, "I can't hold on anymore, come and save us!"

No doubt these words were directed to the firefighters below. Qi Lixue then came to his senses, cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted back, "Hang in there, kid! We'll be right up!"

Without further delay, Qi Lixue swung into action! With three crew, he rushed upstairs.

Chen Yeliang did not know if he would be able to hold on until the backup arrived. The palliative care boost provided by the system ensured he would not die, but it did not indicate if he would be paralyzed if he fell down.

Moreover, the wind was so strong up there. He couldn't be sure if Lan Sixi would land squarely on the air mattress.

If she were to die, he would really be left with nothing!

Chen Yeliang screamed silently, I can't just sit around and wait for death!

He shouted towards the rooftop, "Li Tan, are you there? Hurry up and pull us up! If we die, you won't be able to escape responsibility! Do you hear me!?"

Another gust of wind blew past. There was no sign of anyone up there.

Chen Yeliang gritted his teeth, livid with rage. Damn it! That son of a b*tch ran off!

But right now, he did not have the strength to scold anymore. Chen Yeliang could feel his fingers trembling violently. He could not hold on any longer!

He lowered his head and glanced down. The dizzying height made his scalp tingle and his heart thumped so hard it felt as if it was going to burst out of his chest. He then looked at Lan Sixi. She, too, was at her limit.

Like a lonely wind chime dangling in the air, her forlorn appearance suspended in the air was unbearable to watch.

Chen Yeliang steeled himself, bit the tip of his tongue to calm himself down and thought, I'm going for it! Being paralyzed is better than death!

Under everyone's shocked gaze, he suddenly let go of the concrete ledge and the two of them plummeted down!

Downstairs, another wave of screams erupted!

"Ah! They fell down!"

"The firefighters have not reached the roof! They can't make it!"

"Somebody save them!"

The crowd was in an uproar. The onlookers stepped back instinctively. Some of the more timid ones covered their eyes and ran away before turning back for a peek.

What's worse, the strong winds threatened to blow their trajectory off course. The two of them were about to fall outside the safety air mattress!

Chen Yeliang held his breath and summoned the system to activate his skill!

Divine Grasping Hand!

Upon activation, immense strength gushed through the hand that was holding onto Lan Sixi!

"Go!"

With one mighty swing, Chen Yeliang flung the petrified Lan Sixi towards the center of the safety air mattress. The exertion caused an opposite reaction that sent Chen Yeliang flying in the other direction!

He consoled himself silently as he watched Lan Sixi land safely.

It's fine. I won't die since I have the palliative care boost! If I'm paralyzed, I'm sure Lan Sixi will be willing to push my wheelchair for me.

Just as he was indulging in his flights of fancy, Chen Yeliang felt the world turn dark. He could hear the sound of rustling and the sound of fabric tearing.

He could feel his falling speed slow down.

The leafy branches of the small fig tree slowed down his descent. Even though the ensuing small abrasions burned with pain, it was still better than not feeling anything.

It was the first time that Chen Yeliang felt so affectionate towards the sensation of pain. It was solid proof that he was still alive!

Gradually, the discomfort from the weightlessness dissipated. Chen Ye closed his eyes and knew that he had stopped falling.

"That boy fell into the tree canopy!"

"Quick, save him!"

"Where's the emergency medic? How about campus medic? Campus medic, come over quickly!"

"Is the person on the tree dead? What should we do? I don't dare to go over."

"Everyone, stay back. Leave this to the police and the firefighters!"

Chen Yeliang turned his head. Through the gap between the branches, he could see the crowd in a chaotic mess. Most of the people had thrown themselves onto the air mattress.

Probably worried that the fallen body would have been cut into pieces by the tree branches, regular folks did not dare to approach the potentially bloody scene. Only two policemen came towards him.

"Mr. Policeman," Chen Yeliang waved tiredly. "I'm here."

The young officer did not expect Chen Yeliang to still be alive. With a joyful look, he immediately shouted over his shoulder, "Quick! Quick! Bring the garden shears. He's still alive!"

The young officer's voice was almost as loud as a public broadcast. It attracted everyone's attention.

Chen Yeliang gestured with a smile. "No need to trouble yourself. I can lower myself down."

He extracted his right hand and felt around behind his waist. After breaking a few big branches, he freed himself and landed lightly on the ground.

Chen Yeliang massaged his arms in disbelief. It was unbelievable! He did not die or become paralyzed despite falling from such a great height!

Other than the stinging pain from his many abrasions, there was nothing else amiss!

As the dumbfounded onlookers watched this scene unfold, their jaws practically dropped to the ground.

This guy standing before them fell from the top of the building without breaking any arms or legs. He even broke off the tree branches to free himself and calmly leaped down. It had certainly saved the police officer a lot of trouble!

The concerned onlookers immediately morphed into rubbernecking gawking spectators.

The students broke through the police's barricade and surrounded Chen Yeliang, bombarding him with a barrage of questions.

Chen Yeliang instantly became the most attention-grabbing celebrity!
