Magic council Tribunal

If there is one thing that Mages these days hates the most then it would be to be called to the Magic Council Tribunal. Mostly you would see dark mages who were being sentenced to the Rift penitently for breaking the magic laws set by the council. These laws have existed since the all races treaty was signed 200 years ago and those who break it would face the force of all races on planet Earth.

Year 2100 in the human territory was a big event for the council elders as one of them was brought forward. It would have been easy to just scrub all these under but because of the power struggles inside the council and the elder on trial causing too much trouble it was not hard for them to put a verdict.

"Elder Seri as one of the 10 elders of the council, a well-respected man, one of the peek researchers of our race and a man that should be setting an example for the younger generation how is it that you could even do such a thing?"

Elder Seri was bound with hard steal chains on his hands welded into the floor; he was wearing a white robe as the decision has yet to be given, his eyes were red as he looked at the people ahead of him like he was looking at idiots and had an arrogant prideful aura about him.

"This world used to be our human race world, now it's full of these filth races who if not for a common enemy would have eradicated us long ago, is it wrong to do what is beneficial for our human race. We used to be on the top of the food chain in this world, there were no areas that we could not go to if we set our minds to but now we are at the bottom of the food chain that even some ogres from the beast continent take our children for slavery and what does the other races do, nothing all they need from us are guards for that barrier where thousand of our brothers die everyday."

Some elders frowned while listening to his reasoning. His words had some truth in them, yes they used to be the only race on this planet, there had freedom to go anywhere in the world whether it was the sea or space everything was theirs to command. Their pursuit for power and the unknown had led to almost the destruction of their race. One of their pursuits led them to find a peculiar energy on the moon and through studying this energy it brought a disaster that would forever be a mark on their race.

The beginning of this energy was calm that there were even people who were getting special ability and when they thought of it as a good thing the energy increased too much that there were earthquakes after earthquake that shock the entire continent to its core. When these events stopped more followed, islands that were never on the planet started to appear, islands then turned into continents and more changes arrived with the increase of the energy.

Using satellite images four continents which were as big as the human race continent or even bigger appeared and these continents were not empty. What followed was a war that lasted for ten years, talking was not an option for the humans when some unknown things appeared in their world, so nuclear weapons were fired but alas they were only able to destroy a quarter from one of the four continents. That era showed the end of science and the beginning of magic as the barrier of the other continents were hard to penetrate and the earth had been strengthened with this new energy that nuclear weapons could only damage a little.

The human race only had one advantage and that was they were over populated than the other races and had more soldiers to sacrifice. These races displayed skills far beyond human reach and finding out that their firearms were useless put the humans in a dangerous position.

As the war progressed between these races the human were too much weak for them to put much effort and they them discovered a dangerous enemy that they could not ignore. This creatures were from the other continent that appeared, they were good at magic and all they did was devour each other, seeing this the other races were frightened that they decided to join hands and defeat the enemy.

The enemy was too strong to defeat so with the contribution of the other races except the human race they build a barrier using their resources to jail the entire beast race inside and the humans were made into the guards outside the barrier. Humans were too week to fight against such difficulties, besides they did not contribute much in sealing the potential danger, as they were weak they could only be used as screaming alarms for some weak beast that passed through the barrier to wait until a mage from either races deals with it.
