6 Chapter 6 Metamorphosis

As we headed back to the camp, Vanessa wouldn't let me carry anything, I think she blames herself. I sat down inside my tent and started wrapping my arm then put on a long sleeved shirt, who knows what Alex would do if he found out. For the most part I just sat in silence. Only later did Alex return with a deer. "Oscar get out here I may need your help. I don't know how to skin a deer I said exiting. Vanessa looked at me then quickly back at the fire. "No worries just help me and I'll do all the work mate. It was disgusting but I had no choice but to help if I wanted to eat tonight. It wasnt until after Alex had finished cooking that I no longer felt hungry. I went back to my tent, hoping to just wait until I turned but I felt no different than a few hours ago. Vanessa then walked in joining me with two plates. "I'm not hungry. "Well eat anyway, she replied handing me the plate. The food had no flavour, actually it taste more like sand than anything as each bite went down it became harder to stomach it. Could my body be rejecting the food? "Vanessa I can't eat anymore. She just stared for a moment. "I'm sleeping in here tonight. "You can't, not realising I almost shouted, what if I turn while your sleeping. "It's exactly why im staying in here, in case you turn I can, She paused I can kill you. "No It's too risky. although my efforts to change her mind failed I fell asleep anyway. I woke up later in the middle of the night. She ended up falling asleep anyway. I should of turned by now? Without time to react myself, I vomited up last night's dinner without it looking even remotely digested. "What the hell? My shoulder was healed completely along with the bite on my arm. That's, impossible? I said to myself. "Vanessa? I shook her a little, Vanessa? "What, she mumbled. Oh, damn, what you didn't turn? "No not only that my shoulder is healed, look even the bite is gone! "It's, amazing? but how is this even possible? The both of us were filled with many questions but couldnt find any answers. my only thought was I must of been immune. It didn't explain my recovery though. Without any time to think Vanessa hugged me tightly. "I see you two are comfy. It was Alex as he stood outside my tent. "It's not what it looks like Alex. Vanessa quickly let go sitting back up. "I don't care but your both being too loud were gonna have to move soon, it's a bit early but let's start packing okay. Yeah okay, even though nothing was really going on, other than just finding out I wasn't a zombie. It didn't take long to pack everything up, I left out what happened to my food this morning and hopped in the car with Vanessa in the passenger again. this time we went west instead of going to the back towards my house.
