1 Birth filled with death

It was an ominous night filled with tension in the dragon tribe of Pyro continent. Usually, the birth of a young tribesman should be a good news to the tribe but, tonight it is going to be filled with great suffering for the tribe.

In a magnificent palace were the upper echelon of the tribe gathered for a meeting. This meeting will be about one of the member of the tribe who was pregnant.

On the head seat sat a majestic woman who exuded the aura of royalty and grace in the normal times but now full of distress and helplessness. She was the dragon queen who, after the death of the previous ruler took the helm at an older age and was struggling to maintain the peace within the tribe.

The dragon queen looked at the elders with a pale face as if she was pleading for their support. This all began with the love between a female dragon and a tribesman from the Turtle mountain. In the dragon tribe love is not that much forbidden but propagation of the offspring should not be done with an outsider without permission from the both tribes.

But the female dragon who was pregnant was an unknown for both the tribes. This caused the misery for the dragon queen as the other tribe has no restriction for marriage outside the tribe but the dragon tribe followed it staunchly. The one who became pregnant was close to the queen as she accompanied the queen during times of need and played a key role in maintaining the peace in the tribe.

All the elders of the tribe decided to kill the mother and child as punishment for violation of the rule of the tribe. The queen was against it but she was powerless to do anything. She tried to plead for leaving the child alone as it didn't do anything wrong. But she was faced with rebuttal.

In the tribe the dragon in question was absent from her residence as it was not safe to be in the tribe. Outside the tribe was a big forest inside there was a small hut in which there were two people. One was lying on a bed with a face scrunched in pain and filled with perspiration, which was the female dragon. The other was a handsome man with devilish charm and face that looked like as if came out from a painting. He was filled with anxiety and worry seeing his loved one in pain.

At that time from outside the hut sounds of movement was heard which made the couple to be tensed. At the door came a man panting as he came there in rush. He entered the hut and shut the door behind him. The couple were relieved as the one who came was a trusted aide of the queen.

The man looked at the aide with anticipation and asked," How did it go?" As soon as this line was uttered the aide's face became pale and looked at the couple with pity.

" It was a failure. The elders are all banded against you and are planning to kill both the mother and child ".

On hearing this the lady became flustered and asked, " What is the queen's decision?"

"She asked you to leave to a safe place other than this as this place is discovered and is not safe ". Suddenly his expression changed. "Immediately leave the place they are coming and are nearby".

The tension in the room increased. The man faced the lady,"Dear wife you have to leave, for the sake of our child".

"How can I leave you alone to face those cold hearted fellows?"

"I will face them and stop them from harming our child. So, it is necessary for you to leave the place. For now go to the turtle mountain and wait for me there".

As the couple were talking among themselves the royal aide was standing at a corner of the room, hearing to their every word and on hearing the final line his expression changed. A gleam of light shone across his eyes. A look of viciousness which was not seen till then appeared on his good natured face for a fraction of second and he came back to his previous concerned appearance again.

The man faced the royal aide with pleading eyes. That look made the aide stunned for a moment. He understood the meaning and replied with a curt nod and grabbed the hands of the lady and forced her to leave the place.

The lady cried the whole way along. It started raining and they took shelter in a cave. The cave was a large one. They decided to stay in the cave for the night. The royal aide although he had ulterior motive he decided to play along.

In the middle of the night the ring on the lady's finger started to glow faintly. As it was a large cave she was resting in the depths and the aide chose to relax at the opening of the cave so she can't escape as there was only a single entrance to the cave. So, the aide didn't see anything abnormal that can rise suspicion.

The lady was awake the whole time as she was worried about her husband. She noticed the ring which made her raise her falling mood as it indicated a message from the dragon queen. She concentrated her spiritual power and recieved the message.

On reading the message she was shocked to find that the royal aide that came to her help was a traitor and was aiming to kill her and her child. The good natured face that the aide made in front of her and her husband flashed in her mind and her anger went over the roof.

She immediately wanted to ask him about it. Suddenly her labour pains started. That was a bad time to have labour pain. So she used the rest of her power to make a temporary shield around herself.

The pain was excruciating and she was completely covered with sweat. Even though she refused to make a single sound. The aide was unknown of the proceedings inside.

After hours of pain she gave birth to a healthy girl child. The lady was filled with happiness and she forgot about all things that happened to her that day. She was full of fatigue from the labour and she drifted into slumber.

The next morning she woke up early and bundled her daughter in her clothes and left her hidden in the cave. As for her stomach she managed it with her powers to make her look like pregnant. After she kissed her daughter one last time she left for the cave opening.

The aide and the lady resumed their journey. The aide was unaware of her knowledge about his loyalty to the dragon queen. She determined to take the birth of her daughter to the grave with her so as they were passing through a bridge she accumulated all her strength and suddenly launched an attack on the aide.

The aide was caught off guard and was stuck on the head which killed him instantly but the lady was drained of all her power fell limp at the middle of the bridge. But before her death she sent the location of her daughter to the queen and breathed her last breath on the bridge.
