1 1. Reminiscing

Deep in the vast nothingness of space sat a young man in his 20's on top of a floating rock, legs crossed , arms crossed, and head down.

Dressed in a white t-shirt, jeans, and some sandals.

Black shoulder length hair tied in a lazy ponytail hanging down his back, sharp eyebrows and some stubble in the shape of a beard.

The young man seemed to be in deep thought, but upon closer inspection you would see that his head was slowly nodding up and down, and if you listened closely you would here a sound....he was snoring.

Around the rock he was sitting on there were bodies strewn about the place and wreckages of space vessels scattered about. All around him was destruction but the young man seemed to be completely unfazed and unharmed, except maybe some creases on his white t-shirt as if he just dug it out from his laundry smelled it and shrugged his shoulde-

"HEY!!! Don't go telling people my business!!! And I only wore this shirt for like 10 minutes the other day to go get some snacks at a convenience store!!"

The young boy woke up and started yelling into space an-

"I'M NOT YELLING INTO SPACE I'M YELLING AT YOU!!! FORGET IT!!! Let me tell this story." the boy pouted.

"Hey hey hey, look at me...yes me..no you.. look at me... I'm telling this story now."

"Ahem"

The boy cleared his throat, he sat up and adjusted himself wiping the dust off and began to speak.

But as he started speaking his voice became very echoy and far away prompting the disembodied voice to take over.

------

It was an ordinary and very average day in a small rest stop of a town just outside the city of Alcropoli, a city in which the mysticism of cultivators and the mysteriousness of magicians meet. Where one could see sky high towers of the mages and the sprawling vast sects that were scattered about.

In the town of Menpur, in an ordinary yet bustling inn we come across a young boy cleaning tables and taking order left and right just trying to make ends meet and support his old grandfather.

The boy, Alex, was a poor 13 year old who didn't have the luxury of knowing one's parents, by the time he was able to have any coherent thought, he was already being raised by his grandfather. Alex is your typical malnourished adolescent, skinny figure, shorts, t-shirt and a pair of worn out shoes, but one thing did make him stand out from the rest. It was his eyes, when one looked into his eyes it was almost as if they were looking into the void of space, so black yet so mesmerizing that it was almost impossible to look away. With a short head of pitch black hair he could be seen running from table to table filling out his little notepad with peoples orders and clearing tables one after the next.

Now due to his grandfathers aging and frail body, Alex had been working overtime that day and was extremely tired by the end of the day, but he still had the energy left to get on his bike and start slowly pedaling home to his grandfather.

Somewhere in the lower orbit of this planet called Aerth a giant inquisitor class warship was circling the planet and scanning it trying to find something.

....Inside the warship....

A man in a white lab coat like coat is speeding through the halls of the massive ship, sweat dripping with an anxious look on his face. He was running with his all to get to the main deck, and finally upon entering the door he started shouting.

"Commander!! We've located the signatures!!"

Hearing the man shout, the "Commander" turned his head revealing the face of an old man in his 60's with sharp yet bushy eyebrows and a scar running down his face from his left eyebrow down to his lip, his eyes exhumed the pressure of a man that has gone through the harsh vicissitudes of life and war.

With gray almost white hair poking out of his hat, along with a coat of white trimmed with some white-gold and 3 white gold stars on the collar. Just by looking at the man one would be able to feel the pressure he exudes as if it was tangible.

"Where?" the commander said in his deep and gravelly voice.

"Just outside of Alcopoli! Sir!"

"So...you've finally gotten tired of hiding huh? Old friend...I'll be seeing you soon."

The commander turns around sharply and exits the command deck while gathering a group of others in coats similar to his with varying embellishments signifying their ranks to board a smaller ship to find his so called "old friend".
