1 What is happening?

"This is I, Lumina Ciel Lucia nee Wisteria's last testament and will. I am not held under any force and I am sound of mind while writing this.

Firstly, For my Parents Alexander and Rosamond Wisteria, I leave behind the bakery house from my private property as well as the farm field in the Mouyin Village. Live healthy and well.

For my Brother Lucas Alexis Wisteria. You are the family head now, take your life seriously. I leave you 100'000L, make your dreams come true brother.

To Sally and Emma, I leave you the summer mansion in the Sandreas along with the surrounding property. Please take care of my little Nebbia well like you have taken care of me. Thank you for everything.

And for my one and only son Nebbia Ren Lucia, I leave you everything else as well as my private library gifted by the late Queen Dowager Lizbeth Nebbia Lucia. Grow up to be a strong, healthy and smart young man. I'm sorry for leaving you this early.

Lastly to the Emperor Charles Nuvola Lucia. Only one at fault for this is me. I ask you to spare my family and the people involved. Please keep your promises.
Signed

-Empress Lumina Ciel Lucia nee Wisteria"

Placing the pen down, I gently folded the paper and placed it inside the black envelope. It was promptly sealed then given to the guard standing beside the cell I'm residing in.

"Please take it to His Majesty, I have finished what he requested"

Taking the letter gently from my hand, the young guard nodded. His eyes looked sad, it was obvious he was pitying me. I think I remember him, he was the one that served as my bodyguard when I last went to the town before all this mess happened.

"Yes, Don't worry your majesty. I'm sure The Emperor will-"

"Don't, please just go"

I silenced him and watched as he left with the letter in his hands. It's better this way. That man will never show me any mercy but he will keep his promise. He always does…

Once his majesty receives the letter, he will start the execution. Then my head will roll before the cries of all the people of the kingdom. They must hate me, for I have started a war after all. Sighing I turned away to look at the window, pushing away the thoughts.

Little bits of moonlight entered the dingy cell through the bars of the window, creating a serene but lonely feeling. It looked kind of melancholic, nostalgic for me. Now that I think about it, everything started in a night quite like this didn't it? In a room much comfortable but small as this cell.

Ah, I had wanted to live quietly but happily without inconveniencing anyone. I was fine with not being loved, to just live surrounded by my family. Guess I started yearning for that kind of love at some point.

I sniffed slightly, my eyes burnt slightly from the tears gathering.

"I'm pathetic…"

I mumbled, wiping away the tears that still gather no matter how much I tried to stop them. Why am I even crying? My family will live, the country is peaceful and Nebbia will grow up to become the crown prince. Everything is great and I won't have any regrets. So why can't I stop?

I want to see my son Nebbia grow up! I want to spend time with my parents until their time comes! I want to see Lucas become famous for his accomplishments in the medical field! If only I had another chance….

I sniffled again and bit my lips. I can't think like that! That will just lead me to nothing but delusions. This is the reality, I should accept it as it is. No use dreaming of another start when that isn't possible in the first place.

'Still, If I had another chance to start over. Then I want to live for myself. I want to be happy…'

Once again sighing, I stood up from the old chair and walked towards the old bed. I should rest now. Tomorrow is the grand finale of this farce called revolution. Closing my eyes, I slumped. The moment my head hit the pillow, I was already slipping away. Maybe I will have a good dream tonight…

…

Clock ticked away as the sun and moon switched.

Hourglass turned, golden sand brushing past my fingers. But…

Why is it going up?

I woke up

…

Gasping for breath, my eyes snapped open.

What was that dream? Today is my last day so what use is it even dreaming of time? Was it my thoughts from last night that made me dream of an hourglass with it's sand flowing up and not down? How ironic. I wanted to dream a good dream too. One about that picnic day with my family would have been great. I sighed and sat up, long blue hair running down from my head.

'Wait? Long?..'

I cut my hair after the Civil War started so why? The mattress felt soft too, not to mention the covers. What was going on? I looked around the room. It looked suspiciously like my childhood room back in the Wisteria Family's mansion. I moved out once I got married but how am I here? Did they kidnap me and bring me here?

My family should have given up their title of Dutchery. Did the Emperor decide to let them keep the land? If so, that was very kind of someone like him. I was sure this wasn't a dream cause if it was then I would know. So why am I here? For the first time ever since that day, I felt stumped.

Just then the door opened and my head instantly turned towards it. My hand grasping for the knife that wasn't even under the pillows. Mass of long black hair peeked through the door, blue eyes brighter than my own twinkling with mischief. H-How? -

Before I could stop myself the words left my mouth.

"You.. How are you alive?"
