Prologue

As the cold chilly wind blew an amount of moonlight slightly made the house visible from a distance in the pitch dark night. It was old but it still stood out due to its looks and maintenance. The green climbers that grew from the ground took its way up to the grey wall of the house. Anyone would have cut them off but not the lady who lived there because she loved them to grow naturally. They just needed a right path to be shown and they would just climb in a beautiful pattern.

But not everything that looks beautiful has beautiful stories behind it. He knew it very well. He knew that they might not let him get inside even though it was freezing outside. Even so he shoved his hands into the pockets and walked towards the house with slower steps. In hope that his mother might at least open the door if not let him inside the house. He missed her, his sister and the entire family.

The experiences he and his family had to go through had nearly broken them apart. It was never like this before until his father got into an accident. But that was not the end,he was not ready for the consequences that came along with it. He had never imagined something like that to happen.

It's been almost six months or maybe more since he left them. All this time he had never contacted them nor did they bother him. He just wanted to be forgiven but maybe the misunderstandings were more powerful than the truth. Nobody wanted to believe him. He was in the darkest spot right now which made him hate himself. He was betrayed, punished and shamed. He was weak, anxious and hurt but he still walked through that bylane thinking this time might be different.

After a few moments he felt like someone was walking behind him with that same pace. He immediately turned back to see a person wearing a strange face. He was old and by seeing him Jake could assume he must be someone from the police department.

Of course he can easily recognize them just by seeing their physique, not to mention that he has been an undercover agent for a while and worked in some big cases until he got a permanent job working at a minister's office. Keeping in mind his experience in the few days after his release, he thought of pretending a little bit in case he's assumption was wrong.
