3 Chapter 3

"Okay." I said sighing, grasping my left arm stump with my right hand. "It really does have a cool burning sensation, like a strong mint…"

Garrison hovered over towards me again and spoke. "I'd recommend looking at some abilities to fill in for your primary abilities and queue them to activate while you earn Divine Points…"

I rubbed the right side of my head, I still had some hair there after all, though full of bone fragments and coagulated blood. "Sure… How do I look through them?"

Garrison face changed to show me a long list. I naturally tried to touch it, which made it function like a tablet. "Huh…" I let out a soft expression of disbelief, "You even have a filter function…"

"Yes, I can even assist you sort and search, just tell me what you think would be best."

I sat looking through the list of abilities, apparently I can select upwards to three primary abilities and can queue them like he said as I earned Divine Points, the abilities will level up by themselves. I first looked at (Core) Regeneration again:

I needed 20 points to move it to Level 3, though I touched it again and looked at (Primary) Regeneration, which would cost me 10 Divine Points…

"Wait, can I buy it again?"

"Buy Regeneration again? That does not sound efficient at all…"

"Hear me out…" I sat and thought for a moment to clarify my logic as I read the Primary ability:

"Primary Ability: Regeneration

Basic - Increases natural healing processes by a multiple of 2 per level, requires additional sustenance and metabolic processes.

Primary - Will restore the body to a complete state, though may cause severe pain and discomfort while limbs are regrown, requires a considerable amount of additional sustenance and metabolic processes."

"Knowing this… I could take the primary ability and gain another multiple of 2 for 10 Divine Points, whereas doubling my (Core) Regeneration again would cost me 20 Divine Points…"

"I am not aware of any Champion taking the same ability both as a Core and Primary…" Garrison put on a pondering face… "I do believe you have a good idea, since you are so feeble this would be a good way to ensure you are in good condition as you do break and bleed so easily."

"Thanks…" 'Did he have to be redundant?' He did make a good point, I should focus on an ability to make me stronger and more resilient towards… well anything, I really do not want to experience the pain from the explosion again…

I sat for what seemed like an hour looking through the catalog on Garrison's screen and selected the following abilities:

Primary Ability: Body Enhancement

Basic: Enhances the body by twenty percent to include recovery rate, skin, bone and muscle density, strength and flexibility.

Primary: The Body adapts and will grow towards a most efficient form and becomes denser using Divine Energy without gaining weight.

Primary Ability: Resist

Basic: Enhances all manners of the body's resistance towards all natural and unnatural conditions by ten percent.

Primary: Unnatural states of the body are included.

"Interesting choices, I see they both have a strong synergy with your Core ability as well as providing meager defensive and offensive options…" Garrison's screen showed a face of approval.

"Thanks, it only took about an hour…" My stomach hurt a bit, but was overshadowed by the pain in my side, my tongue was a bit dry and my lips, of what was still there felt a bit dry…

"Any chance for a glass of water or a bite to eat? I asked while looking through the queue function on his screen.

"Only once you get to the estate."

"Ah, of course, and which direction is it in?"

"When you are ready to travel, I will lead the way."

I could not see that far in the distance, there was a slight haze after about 400-500 meters as well as hundreds of those floating balloons in the way. I picked up some of the broken bones on the ground from my left arm to use to pop these balloons from a distance.

"Let's go."
