25 Fleeting memories

SongJae after finishing his discussion, seeing that Lily wasn't coming back, went looking for her. He had noticed a crowd of people looking at a scene. He didn't realized the main actress of the scene was Lily until he got much closer and now looking at the state of in which Lily was, he was not having it. Who dared to bully his fiancée?

SongJae came quickly next to Lily while she was trying to clean up her dress. He looked at the offenders with such a glacial stare that everyone around them could feel the temperature drop.

The woman looked down, still looking pitiful. The man in front of him was however challenging his authority.

Dai couldn't believe his ear when he heard the word "Darling" coming from the man in front of him. Who was he to call HIS Ran "Darling"? He couldn't help himself challenging him with his eyes. Both men were measuring each other, with the pressure coming from each of them growing in intensity with each second.

SongJae could sense the man in front of him had feelings for Ran. With his longing gaze, the way he was looking at her in a disgustingly tender manner, there is no way it wasn't the case. But who was he to Ran? He had known Ran for a long time and had never met the guy. Seeing how the man was extremely handsome, probably as much as he was, he would have recognized such a rival. If he had known there was such a rival, he would have gotten rid of it right away.

Seeing...or rather feeling the tension was rising, Lily broke the silence.

"It's nothing...This lady is a bit clumsy and confused. She dropped some wine on me and thought I had pushed her in retaliation while she had just lost balance..."

In a few words, Lily had managed to diffuse the situation and made Minh looked like a brainless and senseless woman. Lily smiled and added magnanimously, "It's just a dress, there was no need to cry."

Hearing Lily's words, Minh raise her head and looked at Lily's venomously. She dared!!!! But with Dai at her side and SongJae at Lily's side, Minh couldn't do a single thing. Looking at SongJae, Minh couldn't believe another handsome man was willing to stand next to Ran. SongJae and Dai were both handsome but SongJae looked like nobility while Dai had that dangerous aura. As different as day and night. But both man wanted Ran.

The favor of the people around them had now turned.

"This young lady is so forgiving! What a generous heart!"

"She tripped herself and accused someone else, what a rude person!!!"

The event was drawing near its end and Lily was tired. Though the appearance of Dai stirred an unknown feeling in her, her intuition was warning her to not entangle herself with him.

"SongJae, let's head home?" Lily smiled at Minh and Dai, bide them farewell and exit the event, her hand in SongJae's hand.
