22 Fleeting memories

"Dears esteemed guests, please continue enjoying. We should start the ceremony in not too long"

What just happened had flustered the crowd of guests. They were not accustomed to see that kind of drama unfolds so publicly. In all the years of tradition, never such a scandal had ever happened. It was bound to aliment gossips for years to come.

"Poor girl, being dismissed in public like that, there is no recovery."

"I am so glad I am not her. But what a jerk!"

"hahaha her reputation is ruined and in shambles now, she deserves it. I have never liked her."

Iris understood that she had completely lost face and retreated from the stage. It should have been HER NIGHT! The night where she would finally shine as the Queen of the bal. As she wasn't very popular in her circle, ladies were sneering on her passage. She couldn't sustained the humiliation anymore. Raging, Iris left the bal, promising herself she would take revenge and kill that S**UT of LILY.

Definitely oblivious to Iris's feelings towards him, Jun had never even considered as a potential date so he wasn't aware that she had developed specials feelings toward him. All he cared about at that moment was to be able to catch up Lily and ask her for explanations.

Actually, he would first kissed her and hugged her until there was no tomorrow and then ask for explanations.

However, as soon as he got to the location where he had seen her, she was no longer there. He did look all over in the garden, but still couldn't find her trace anywhere. There was also no signs of the handsome youth that was with her neither. How was that possible?!

Refusing to believe that he wouldn't be able to find her, Jun walked around the venue at least 3 times, even asking ladies to double-check the ladies washrooms for him. He meticulously combed through all the guests. Even when subtly and casually asking friends and acquaintances of his and Lily if they had seen her. They all answered that they didn't and were even surprised to learn she had attended.

Lily's disappearance was still kept a secret at this stage, but her family had the spread the rumor that she was sick and went on trip to recover. They wanted to keep the information low-key as to not alert whoever was responsible for her disappearance. Knowing her character, they were sure she didn't willingly do that disappearing act.

The event had ended and the venue was now empty. Jun, who stayed until the last worker of the event left, was now convinced Lily was no longer in the vicinity. A wave of desperation came over him. Again and again, he was given leads and each and every single one of them turned out to be nothing. Tonight, when he had seen her, he was sure it was time for their reunion. Still, all he managed to catch was that glance of her.
