2 Beginning or end?

Lily was still floating amidst her dreams when she noticed a strange noise.

Someone was calling a name faintly... She couldn't quite understand it. But the voice was so sad, she felt her heart breaking.

"Who's there? What are you saying?"

The voice slowly died off and couldn't be perceived anymore.

The silence worried Lily, so she opened her eyes but couldn't see anything at first. A bright light was blinding her. When her eyes got accustomed, Lily was then able to see what was around her.

She was in a courtyard of a sort, near a beautiful pond. Surrounding her were rows and rows of bright flowers. A little further, she could see stone walls. She was lying on a long chair, and beside her was a table where tea and light snacks were available. She could feel the warmth of the sun on her skin.

How did she end up here? Wasn't she in a jailed room? Lily tried to remember what happened prior, but her head felt really heavy and painful.

"Young mistress, I will now play your favorite piece."

Lily was startled by the sound. She had not noticed someone else was with her. On her left, a man was sitting with an erhu in his arms. His head was down so she couldn't tell how he looked but he seemed young. His voice sounded gentle.

The young man started to play and for reasons, she couldn't understand, Lily felt sleepy again. She wanted to fight her drowsiness but couldn't in the end.

IN AN OFFICE SOMEWHERE

Two men were standing near a tall window discussing. The first man was directly the window. He had a dominating and confident aura. At the first glance, it was impossible to not think this man was born to lead. Behind him, the second man, though manly, still looked like a sheep compared to him.

"We can't keep her in that state for more than 1 week. If this continue, we will be forfeiting her life."

The first man smiled.

"Will she remember what had happened?"

The second man answered nervously and quickly.

"It is almost impossible. Nobody had ever remembered anything after being given the forever forgetfulness potion. "

"Let us stop artificially maintaining her state and see what fate will bring us then!"

The first man started laughing. The second man started to feel fear deep in his bones.
