Nothing, not even a facial expression of worry or concern was shown on his face.

Seeing the man didn't seem concerned at all, Serenity ordered the staff to stab the woman in the chest. In shock, she let out a small scream as blood seeped down her chin and her lips.

Her breath hung heavy as she glanced at Serenity. "Useless tricks like these... won't work," she said while smiling bravely. Serenity ignored her comment as the staff dug deeper into her chest while at the same time extracting her mana.

"Enough," the man suddenly said.

Upon looking over Serenity discovered that the man had been freed from the roots and was holding his sword toward her as her roots were burned to ash. Taking advantage of the queen's surprise, the man used his sword to cut the roots and freed his partner. The second the woman was free, she pulled out the staff and threw it to the ground while groaning at the pain as she held her bleeding chest.

The man beside her looked at her and warned, "be careful,"

The woman nodded.

They looked at the queen and the woman was stunned, she looked more closely and noticed the queen's wings were glowing and reflecting the night sky, and her hair flowed calmly in the wind. The woman stared in awe but it was short-lived once the man glanced at her.

"If you tell me the reason for your visit, I will let you leave," Serenity said as a green barrier formed around them.

Seeing this, the two stayed closer together while the woman drew out her sword and faced the queen seriously with the intent of fighting. The queen narrowed her eyes and frowned.

"You two would rather die than leave here alive?" asked the queen, and the woman responded, "We don't fear death but who would trust the enemy to keep their promise?"

With clear eyes, Serenity said, "I have lived for hundreds of years and made hundreds of promises, and from those hundreds of promises, I have not broken a single one. Therefore I will not lie to you two and I will keep my word,"

Hearing such words the woman faltered a bit while the man only clenched his sword more.

"There's nothing to say," The man spoke and suddenly the queen felt dark energy coming from the man. She frowned and raised her hands towards the staff that had been thrown to the ground. Like a magnetic pull, the staff flew into the queen's hands. The queen pointed the staff in the man and woman's direction then spoke seriously, "It seems I've only wasted my breath,"

With no more words said the queen let out an energy beam that would surely kill anyone below the gold rank. But suddenly the woman dodged and moved towards the trees, the queen noticed it and summoned five tree giants. When the tree giants were summoned, they immediately knew the orders of the queen and followed the woman.

The queen then looked at the man only to see him unscathed.

'How did he-? with how young he is he shouldn't have reached the gold rank yet,' The queen thought but it was cut short as she chanted an incantation and the ground started to shake and the ground under the man started to split.

"Ha...hahaha,"

The man laughed, suddenly attracting the attention of the queen and the woman, who was still busy dealing with the tree giants. The woman felt the overwhelming power coming from her partner and seeing that his aura was no longer controlled but let out freely, she sighed.

'That idiot, no matter how many times I told him not to use it, he still used it,'

Feeling as if the power was familiar but unfamiliar, the queen tried to recall where she had felt this overwhelming power before. She looked at the man once again and the appearance of a man with a blood-stained face and hands appeared in her mind, she shuddered and felt a bad premonition.

The man, on the other hand, smiled crazily and looked at her.

"It's been a long time...my queen,"

"Luke...Luke...Luke..."

His ears were alerted by the voice of a woman. Not knowing who was calling him, his mind became muddled. In a way, the voice felt familiar, but at the same time, it didn't.

Luke grew more confused as the call continued. In an attempt to drown out the voice calling him, he covered his ears. He was scared by the voice, which sounded sad yet haunting.

"Luke...Lu-"

"Go away!" Luke yelled, but the voice persisted. Closing his eyes and covering his ears, he tried to ignore the voice. Whoever was calling him, he didn't like it at all.

Suddenly he felt a warm hand stroking his head. Slowly, he opened his eyes and was stunned.

"An angel?" he murmured in a low voice.

He saw a woman in white clothes and blonde hair but couldn't see her face. She was covered in light but for some reason, it didn't blind his eyes. Although he couldn't see her face he knew she was smiling at him.

"Who are you?" He asks while his hands no longer covered his ears but trying to reach the woman. The woman slowly walked away, her back turned towards Luke. Luke frowned, "WAIT! Who are you?!" He yelled but the woman only stopped and looked at him. She looked as if she was trying to say something but Luke couldn't hear nor understand what she was trying to say. Soon after, the woman was gone and the lights had dimmed.

He stood still in place not knowing what to do. He didn't know where he was but he could feel his heart beating and chills going down his spine as if someone was looking at him. He looked around but found no one only making his heart more scared and beat faster. And as if it was the perfect moment, his brain decided it was the best time to play tricks and make him think of all the creatures and monsters that could be hiding in the dark where he couldn't see. He clenched his fists from time to time trying to control his scared heart and his rugged breathing.

Ca-chunk!

clang!

Luke froze hearing the sounds. He looked at his wrists that were suddenly feeling heavy.

His breathing and heart almost stopped when he saw his wrists being chained. Luke cursed under his breath and pulled on the chains harshly trying to get out of them but nothing happened.

He kept pulling and pulling not caring how about how much his wrists were hurting. Finally, after what felt like hours of trying Luke got one of his wrists freed and the chain dissipated into thin air. Luke looked at the other chain and it dissipated as well. He took heavy breaths as his eyes and body grew tired, his legs gave out and his body fell backward and his eyes closed.

"You good?" Adrian asked when he saw Luke opened his eyes. Adrian had been watching Luke turn and toss and even heard him curse in his sleep which made Adrian felt Luke would be grumpy when he woke up. Of course, he didn't just stare and watch, he had tried to wake Luke up, but he wouldn't wake up, so Adrian gave up and just watched him.

Luke looked at Adrian and then stared at the ceiling. He was confused, he felt he had dreamed of something good and bad but couldn't remember the details. He got up and looked at Adrian.

"What time is it?" Luke asked groggily.

"It's time to go meet with the masters, are you ok? You kept tossing and turning," Adrian said and Luke only nodded.

"I'm fine," Luke replied although he felt he had forgotten something.

'Weird, what did I just dream about?'
