8 Chapter 8

It's been a few days since they reconciled. The days are repetitive but joyful for the small family. The small actions of talking to each other on the dining table, the passing of food and joking about trivial matters may look nothing to other people. But for the broken souls of the small family, these days are one of the happiest days of living for them. No nightmares at night, no lack of sleep, only warm and fuzzy in their hearts. The members of the small family all wish these days will always continue on and never breaks apart. They wish dearly so.

Diana felt happy living peacefully like this for she had always wished for the days like these dearly. The loving husband, the sweet daughter... She had always wished that they would reunite like this as if quarrelling never occurs and the family has broken apart. Her wish indeed came true. Her man would talk softly to her, they would mutter sweet nothings to each other and be understanding for her. Whenever she saw other men doing like this to their wife's or girlfriends, she was envy and jealous. And now that her man is caring to the family and had understood his mistakes, she felt happy. She wishes these days would never end...

Lindra felt that the days are unreal. She always hoped that her family would never break apart. Whenever she saw other children holding their mom and dad hands, laughing and enjoying each other's presence, she felt like wanting to destroy the image. Why did her father leave them? Why did our family was cold and the other families look warm and happy? She felt jealous. She had always wanted her mother's attention but never gained. She thought she would get her attention if she does great in studies.

But no. Her hope was destroyed. Her mother always seems to daze since the day her father left. She can't understand her mother at all. Her father, who left the family. She had always missed him. She wanted his love. She wanted his spoiling just like other children who were spoiled by their father. Since the day she comes to understand the world, she hoped his father would come back. She has a strong hatred for her father at the same time, strong love to him.

Her lonely heart was poisoned and a bit twisted but her wish was just to live happily with loving dad and sweet mom like other families. Now that the small family reunite, she felt unreal. The wish she had since her childhood was fulfilled? She felt very much unreal. She had never seen her mother laugh so softly and with happiness before. She thought her mother was always strict and never smile let alone laugh. Her thoughts are wrong. Because of the missing piece in her heart, her mother never smiles or laugh.

Now that the missing piece had come back, she feels carefree and relaxed. At the time, the independent strong woman was no more but only a carefree and spoiled girl was there. She thinks her mother loves her father too much to the point that she would sacrifice everything just for him. She wishes she would also be loved by a person just like her mother. She didn't need to worry about betrayal. That person will always stand beside her through thick and thins.

She has a lot of complaints to her father. Well not only her, but her mother also. He will have to suffer a lot more to untie the mother and daughters' hearts. His days will not be an easy one but will be fulfilling and serene. The hearts of the twisted daughter and depressed wife are deep yet delicate and fragile. Leon was thinking a lot lately. He felt his head hurt whenever he thinks about his wife and daughter. He had read the details of their past records and he had already found out their problems. Leon decides to solve his wife's insecurity and depression first.

Leon asks casually as he puts the breakfast on the table.

"Dear, would you like to go on a date with me?"

The soothing yet calm voice was heard. Diana felt her heart thumping hearing the question. She felt like the time returns back to their teenage years.

Diana's face looks nonchalant as she accepts his invitation. She was indeed excited but would never show true feelings. Like the facts mentioned above, Leon would have to try hard to open Diana and Lindra's feelings.
