Huang Jing Er still thinking about how to contact An Ping and Xiao Ran but now she is about to accept the reality that she can't contact them before Xiao Chen lets her go. This fact makes her so annoyed but she can do nothing because Xiao Chen always reminds her about her promise to him.

Actually, this is a little bit weird. How did Xiao Chen claim a simple promise like this? Of course, Huang Jing Er will never know if she will become his hostage.

They keep walking through the thick haze even she doesn't know where the path will lead them. Huang Jing Er thinks this is just an adventure that she wants to experience since she lives in Huang's manor.

"Hey! Why do we have to keep walking like this? I mean just tell me where you will bring me?" Huang Jing Er asked him curiously because she feels hungry and thirsty but until now Xiao Chen still holds her wrist as if she is a lost kid.

"Hey, don't you think that question is suits you well? Why do you have to appear in front of me and take away my freedom?" Huang Jing Er is annoyed.

"I am not? Don't you see that I help you instead?"

Wow! Xiao Chen really makes Huang Jing Er almost explode in anger.

"Did I ever ask you for help?"

"Then if I don't help you, could you escape from that cursed manor? Don't you know that cursed manor is a trap for the witch?"

"Because there is something that I want to know from you." Xiao Chen said.

Huang Jing Er shakes her wrist as she hopes Xiao Chen will let her wrist free but that man keeps holding his wrist tightly.

"After you give me another promise." Xiao Chen said.

That requirement makes Huang Jing Er wonder about Xiao Chen because this man is not a common people but he doesn't a witch so who is he? Xiao Chen becomes so mysterious.

"Don't you think that you are too much?" Huang Jing Er try her best to use her craft but she couldn't as if there is a barrier in this thick haze.

"I heard that a witch will never betray their promise." Xiao Chen looked at Huang Jing Er with an intimidating gaze. "Right?"

"Xiao Chen!"

Xiao Chen gives his sinister smile in front of Huang Jing Er.

"Don't worry, I will give you the information that you want if you will give me your words."

"What do you mean?" Huang Jing Er asked carefully. This time, she can sense the dangerous aura from Xiao Chen. Even he doesn't have a witch aura but it doesn't mean he isn't perilous.

"I think you will never go to the capital city to do nothing, right? As a witch, if someone else knows who you really are… Don't you think it will become dangerous not only for you but your maid?" Xiao Chen pulls Huang Jing Er's wrist until she crushes his body.

Their eyes meet but no one can speak even a single word. Huang Jing Er also doesn't understand what happens to her because she feels like her head is just blanking for a second. Her heart beating so fast. A few moments later, she sees his evil smirk.

"Just give me your promise." That man said.

"What do you want?" Huang Jing Er asked. She tries her best to look calm in front of him even there are a lot of emotions in her chest right now.

Xiao Chen fixes his eyes on Huang Jing Er. Huang Jing Er can feel his breath sweep her forehead and give her a warm sensation all over her body.

"You have to promise me that you will never betray me." Xiao Chen said.

"This is weird. You don't know me but you want me to not betray you. Xiao Chen, you are not my friend nor my family so how do you expect me to give such of promise to you?" Huang Jing Er stared at Xiao Chen bravely.

"If that so… Then I will become your family. The problem solved, right?"

What Xiao Chen said to her makes Huang Jing Er shocked because she never thinks something, like he becomes her family, will occur someday. That's impossible!

Because Huang family manor has strict rules. No one can come except they have the oath to bind them with Huang's family.

"Xiao Chen, are you insane?" Huang Jing Er asked him with annoyance.

"I want to help you but how can I trust you if someday you will betray me? I know what you want." He said to her.

"I can guess. I want you to promise me that you will never promise me then I will give you a hand for whatever you want. How?" Xiao Chen releases her wrist. The sudden act from Xiao Chen makes Huang Jing Er a little bit startled. "I can help you."

Huang Jing Er takes a deep breath while she is thinking about this weird man. This man is really something because he is not a common person and he can help her.

"I promise that I will never betray you." Huang Jing Er said at the same time the thick haze disappear step by step along with Xiao Chen.
