9 Chapter 9: Other Side Of Her

"Miss Bai, I've brought your coffee." After a knock, Elliot's voice sounded through the door.

"Enter." Lillie's eyes didn't leave the PC's monitor.

Elliot entered, looking poise as always, holding a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee. He gently place the cup on her table before standing on the side, waiting for more further instructions.

The room was comfortably quiet, aside from Lillie occasional typing on the keyboard.

"How are the two?" She asked when her eyes gaze at the time. It was already 23:36 pm.

"They appear to enjoy playing with each other." He casually informed. Lillie stopped typing on her keyboard and grabbed the cup of coffee.

Blowing the steam off, she took a sip. "Be sure to remind them of the time, call for both houses' driver to send them home." She reminds.

"Yes, miss." He obediently replied.

"Also, prepare the files for Miss Fujikawa's new game. I will expect them at eight o'clock in the morning."

"It will certainly be done." Elliot bowed like the perfect British gentleman he is. Lillie excused him off before going back to her work.

Hearing the door closed, Lillie sighed. She removed her spectacles and pinched the bridge of her nose. She was physically and mentally exhausted.

What she-devil?

What cold an emotionless CEO?

Lillie used to be a girl who loves sweets and cute things. But, because she's the eldest and the future heiress, she hid all of those just to fit her part.

Lillie sat back up and unlocked one of her drawers and pulled out a worn out photo. She always reminisce this day, the day she met 'him'.

It was her first year in 'Middle school' when she met him, she was eleven at that time. He was sitting at one of the school's benches, under the tree, all alone.

But, he appears not to be bothered by it but Lillie thought otherwise, so she bravely went towards him.

"H-hello.." Lillie, back then, was very shy. She rarely talks to other people because they find her weird. Wearing eyeglasses and braces.

Lillie was actually born with myopia or near sightedness. Her vision is already blurry as soon as she opened her eyes for the first time. It can be healed but, the ophthalmologists said that she's too young to undergo surgery, they have to wait for a few years.

The boy was snapped out of his revery when he heard a mellow voice speak behind him. He turned his head towards the person and was surprised to see a girl.

"May I help you?"

Lillie felt her heart jump, he noticed her.

"A-are y-you new h-here?" She nervously asked.

"Yeah, how about you?"

Lillie was surprised that he replied, not even looking at her in disdain when he saw how she looks like.

"I-I'm new t-too...." She said, barely audible.

She saw from her bangs that the boy had a grin painted on his delicate face.

"Do you want to be my friend?" He asked out of nowhere. Lillie was flabbergasted, no one wanted to be her friend before, expect for Yu Mei [1]. What astonished her even more is that he was the one who proposed.

"Y-yes!" Without hesitation, Lillie agreed. The boy's toothless grin widen.

"My first name is Fang and my family name is Wèi, what's yours?"

"M-my name is Lilliana Theodora Bai."

"L-lili.hana T-teo..*bleh* ouch!" Ah, he bit his tongue.

Lillie burst out laughing.

Wèi Fang playfully glared at her and pouted, his cheeks flushed in red.

"Aya, your name's too hard to pronounce! I'll just call you...Dora!" Now it's Lillie's time to be upset.

"No way! I don't want that!"

"Why not? You don't want to be Dora the explorer?"

"No!"

"Then it's decide, I'll call you Dora!"

"Noooooo!"

Lillie indifferently stared at the photo.

The two of them were best buddies back in Middle school. Unfortunately, something happened that caused the end of their friendship and the change of Lillie's personality.

"Miss Bai." Elliot knocked again. Lillie immediately placed the picture back to her drawer before letting Elliot enter the room.

"The young master and young miss Li already left hours ago. Shouldn't you be resting now?" Lillie didn't noticed that the clock's hands already points at 1:09.

The building should be empty and the only ones that remained are the nightshift guards and probably some her employees who're not yet done with their work.

"Ah, yes. I'll be sleeping here. You can go home now." Lillie lethargically said.

Elliot sighed, "Please take care of your health, miss."

She hummed before entering her office's bedroom. Her doting father knew how much of a workaholic she is so, he had someone specially revise this office to her taste and build her own bedroom. Even the president's office didn't have this luxury.

Elliot saw her enter the bedroom, he knew that as soon as she lie on the bed, she'll be KO'ed immediately.

Shaking his head, he went to her table and rearrange the papers, putting them all on a file and grabbing the cup she used.

Turning off the lights, he locked the door behind him before retreating.
