11 Chapter 11: Live Together?

Lillie Bai didn't even have to do anything as the Ping family will do her bidding. This is what they call borrowing someone else's knife. Mr Zhang will be punished for what he has done. Not only did he steal money, he also do illegal transaction from the underworld.

Lillie is very well aquatinted with the Chinese Major General, Tang He Jiu. She asked him a huge favor to deal with Mr Zhang's criminal actions and to not let WPE be implicated.

"Thank you for your work, He Jiu. Your reward will delivered to you soon." Lillie said through her phone.

"Don't bother, Lil. I just want to help you that's all."

"Not necessary, I'm not a selfish person."

"Alright, alright. Jeez, you're too stubborn for your own good. Since you're sending my rewards, could you also have someone send some booze? The General's too strict, not even letting us have a single drop of alcohol!"

"Your fault for entering such tiring job." She deadpanned.

He Jui chuckled. "What do you say, I like playing the hero of the day. And maybe your hero too—"

On the hot and sandy field, He Jiu stared at his phone in disbelief. This woman, asking for a favor and she still have the audacity to show an attitude like that to him. He really can't tell if he'll laugh or cry.

"Really, this woman will be the death of me." He half-heartedly chuckled.

"He Jiu! Why are you slacking off?! 200 push ups and sit ups, now!" He heard his higher up screamed.

"Yes, sir!" He Jiu groaned and get into position. Yeah, definitely the death of him.

The car stopped in front of the Bai family's old residence, where she used to live along with her grandparents.

Lillie's grandparents dotes and pampers her greatly when she was young and living with them. She was the apple in their eyes.

The one that pampers her the most is her dear, sweet old grandfather, Bai Wu Qing.

While her grandmother, a serious, aloof and beautiful American woman, Eliana Clark, would be strict to her and make her act like a proper lady with class.

But, she would sometimes spoil and pamper her more than her grandfather.

Lillie saw butler Tian, who opened the car's door for her and bowed. "Welcome back, young miss." Butler Tian is already 63 years old, an old servant that has served the Bai family for 3 generations, her grandparents, parents and her when she was young and living here.

Lillie nodded in acknowledgment. "Good to see you well, old Tian."

"Please, young miss, these old bones are still strong as a stallion." He humbly said before escorting her and Elliot trough the study room, where her grandparents and parents expect her.

Butler Tian opened the door for her, entering the room along with Elliot, Lillie was surprised to see a 'very' familiar person present.

"Ah, little flower, you're finally here. And I see you've brought little sunshine with you." Elder Bai happily greeted the honored guest along with her assistant.

"It's good to see you with vigor, Elder Bai." Elliot was quite close with the old man as Lillie would always bring him with her every time she visits the old folks.

Even the serious Old Madam Bai took a liking to him, plus he's English, a type of man Old Madam Bai prefer back then if she had not met her husband.

"Hello grandfather, grandmother." Lillie softly greeted.

"Little flower, such filial girl you are, come here and hug your grandma." Old Madam Bai's aloof eyes soften and hugged her only granddaughter.

Lillie silently accepted her grandmother's hug, not minding that there are other people present.

"Now, now, mother, let go of Lillie and get down to the main topic, shall we?" Lillie's father coughed to get everyone's attention.

Ethan, whose presence has been with them the whole time, straighten up and perked his ears.

"We decided, your mother mainly, to have you and Ethan to live together."
