2 Half-Moon

As Bai Shihan came out of hall, she was still feeling low.

Though she had stop believing in true love.. but whenever someone asked her this question she used to be transported to old high school self who used to fancy true love.

Upon seeing her too lost in her thoughts, Shao Renshu couldn't stop his urge to scare her. Afterall, he loved playing prank.

He spread his hands and stealthily approached her. Just as he was inches away standing at her back, he briskly put his hands on her shoulders.

AAAHHh!!!

Bai Shihan was too terrified to turn around. When she realised it was her assistant and friend Shao Renshu, she immediately hit him with a blow of her fists and then, stood with a pout.

He chuckled at her reaction.

"The forever invincible goddess of business world...the prettiest and the most sensible bachelorette, got cold feet just upon being asked a question about love."

" Shao Renshu, hold your horses. I am going to fire you if you tease me" , she replied.

He apologized playfully.

" As you say BOSS.. I am always at your service. I think you should take a day off to relax your mind and chill yourself... Don't worry, I will handle everything behind you."

She patted him and replied with gratitude.

"Thank you.. Be ready for your bonus next month."

He smiled and said," I express my thanks to prettiest BOSS. Also, please take care of me in the future. Now, let's go and have dinner."

They walked into the White Moon restaurant for dinner which Shao Renshu selected after his "thorough deliberation" .

"So, let's see if the restaurant can satisfy your taste buds."

As they walked in, the lady at the counter asked if they had made the reservation. To which Shao Renshu replied in positive and they were lead to the corner seats with a beautiful night view.

The waiter asked for the order and Shao Renshu asked Bai Shihan to make the order in his gentlemanly manner.

" Today's dinner is on me.."

"Are you sure you wish to pay." Shao Renshu nodded.

"Then, I will suit myself."

She ordered for a vegetable soup, spicy noodles and green tea. Shao Renshu asked for the same.

" Make everything twice and bring your best dessert after the meal."

After the waiter was gone, Shao Renshu asked,

"Why did you order only this much? Trying to save me money, huhh!"

"What would I want to save you money? It is just that I believe I should have a light meal at night. By the way, I was just teasing you earlier..( chuckles)"

Then, the waiter came in with dishes. After dinner, while they were leaving the manager came there and offered them two small packed cakes.

(Bai Shihan was often recognised whenever she went out)

"Please accept a small token of gratitude. I hope you enjoyed the meal in our restaurant Ms. Bai. It was a pleasure to have you here. Looking forward to seeing you again."

Bai Shihan nodded with a smile.

Shao Renshu took the cakes and said, " The pleasure was all ours. Both the food and the atmosphere in your restaurant suited Ms. Bai. We will definitely come again."

After driver dropped Shao Renshu at his place, he drove to Mellowton area to Bai Shihan's villa.

Let me describe Bai Shihan's residence.

First of all, Mellowton was an area owned by Bai Huan who was Bai Shihan's father and the Chairman of Majesty. It is also the place where Bai Shihan lives. It was calm and relaxing with no disturbance around ( as its name"mellow") as it was surrounded by large green garden areas with lanes within, which had various beautiful flowers and open grounds which wooden round table with four round wooden stools around it.

The area was near the company and had good security and environment. Initially, Bai Shihan lived here with her parents, grandparents and little sister. But her grandparents moved to their ancestral home as they wanted to always remember their fond memories.

Her parents moved out soon after Bai Shihan became the CEO of Majesty, as they did not wish to leave their parents alone . Moreover, they felt their daughter would only learn to grow up and take responsibilties if she was let free. They wanted her to become self-reliant and confident as it was most important to handle such a big company. Also, her sister had left for the States for further studies. So, now Bai Shihan lived in her villa alone.

The interior of the villa was a sight to behold with majestic chandelier, white marble walls, big compound, round eight-seater sofa with glass centre table, glass ceiling to floor windows, in back of house there was a swimming pool and a royal two-side flight of stairs.

Her room was on the first floor with a big king-size bed and two sofas with a glass table.

Her house was no less than a palace.

Back home, Bai Shihan, took a shower and was drying her hair when she went near the window and looked at the half- moon in the sky.

While looking at the moon she said as if talking to the moon,

"Even you are half, just like me. The only difference is that you will be united with your better half in a span of about a fortnight. You will be completed. But can I ever find someone who will come into my life, love me and complete me?, I wish I could."

Just then, shooting star went past the sky..

Will Bai Shihan's wish be fulfilled or will she always remain like a half moon?.... 🌗🌓
