Lady billionaire's husband

Linda laid in her kingsize bed thinking of the conversation she had with her grandparents the previous night,

"Find a husband or you will lose your inheritance and your mother's gallery will be sold off"

"You have 30 days!"

She kicked the blankets in frustration, put a pillow over her head,

"What am I going to do?! Do they think I have not tried dating?!", she sighed heavily just thinking about her tragic dating history.

There was Chris Chandler in Middle School, the cutest boy in class with sparkling blue eyes also the leader of the chess club. She planned a grand confession for him, she asked her grandparents to help her prepare a red carpet, and a limousine and buy her 100 red and white balloons. On a Friday during his chess game, she descended onto the red carpet in a beautiful pink princess dress with a bouquet of red flowers.

She called out, "Chris, will you be my husband?!", while they released the balloons 

The whole school watched in astonishment, "Husband..", they murmured, and an embarrassed Chris simply said, "No, I don't date stupid rich girls." Her world came crumbling down, she cried back to the Limousine which had all sorts of candy and toys prepared for her new mate. When she reached home, she ran to her grandmother's arms wailing, "Grammy, he said I was rich and stupid",

"Oh my sweet pumpkin, you are only 9 years old, and yet, you are in secondary school, which other 9-year-old do you know that is in secondary school? You will meet someone better in high school", her grammy said affectionately

Fast forward to high school, and she confessed to Michael Gibson, captain of the soccer team, the most handsome boy in high school with smooth brown chocolate skin, but what stood out for her was his curly black hair that he usually tied up when he was playing. Her confession this time involved a big screen on the soccer field, fireworks, and two tickets for the Manchester City game in Barcelona as a reward to her new boyfriend. Unfortunately, she never got the chance to give him his reward, but at least this time she was not called stupid. Again, Grandmother had to comfort her sweet baby girl, "College will be better, I promise", 

In college, there was Peter Chen, a smart boy in her business class who also happened to be part of the Piano Club and was also into robotics. He was always smiling at her, and she found his smile breathtakingly gorgeous, so, she confessed using drones, the results were still the same. However, this time she did not run crying to her grandmother, she decided to stop dreaming about romance and love. 

Now she is forced into that reality again, "Why would Grammy do this to me! when she knows what I went through", she repeatedly kicked her bed in frustration

"Ms King! Ms King!", the maid called out, "breakfast is ready and your driver has arrived"

She quickly composed herself, "I will be there in a second Mariam", she looked at her messy hair in the mirror, and sighed, "Day 1 of 30", she cleaned up and flawlessly came down the white marble staircase in her white Gucci suit that slightly revealed her silver chain necklace and had on her black stilettoes. Her curly hair was tied into a neat bun. The maids watched in awe of her beauty.

Linda is known as the ice queen in the company, a no-nonsense boss, she hardly smiles. When she walks into the room, she commands her attention, not just by her beauty, but her powerful presence. She is brilliant at her job with an IQ of between 190 to 200, she ran the family empire from the million-dollar tech company that it was straight to the billion-dollar tech company that it is today in just a period of 5 years. Her brown eyes complement her golden skin very well. It is hard alone being a woman in a male-dominated industry, now imagine being of mixed race. Her father was African, he met her mother when he came to study in London and decided to settle in Europe, to be closer to her mother. Unfortunately, she lost both her parents when she was just 3 years of age due to a horrible plane crash, but her grandparents raised her with love and care, and they made sure to love her as much as her parents would have. 

"I have to give them what they need, they are old now, so I get why they are in a rush to get me married, they do not want me to be left alone should anything happen to them", she sighed on her way to the office

"Are you okay little Miss?", the middle-aged driver looked concerned at the Miss that has been sighing ever since they left the mansion

"I am fine Mr. Jackson, don't worry", she flushed a smile. Mr. Jackson has been working for the family for 30 years now and has been around since she was a newborn baby, she felt close to him and was saddened by his decision to retire this year. 

As soon as she walked into the office she was welcomed by her assistant Freddy with a cup of coffee in his hand,

"Freddy, please search through all the dating sites for amicable bachelors and get me the contacts of all single rich celebrities, someone without any scandals", she took off her jacket and sat in her white office chair,

"Oh ma'am, wha-at? should I create an account for you?", Freddy was shocked by this odd request from her boss who had never shown interest in men before

She felt embarrassed by her request as well, but what could she do, her family lineage was on the line, "What? No, I am sure there are ways to get this information without the need for a profile, and if one is needed, why don't you make one up", 

"Ma-am, why do you need this information?", Freddy curiously asked

She responded with a determined look, "I am looking for a husband!", leaving Freddy flabbergasted.
