4 Chapter 2: Last Day on Earth (Part 2)
⟨MC POV – 'Touya'⟩
On our walk to school, we start chatting as we usually do, and as usual Ayumi is holding on to my arm, I don't try to stop her either as we have always had an extremely close and unbreakable bond to one another, sometimes other people get the wrong idea, but we don't let it bother either of us, as we don't care what they think, we are intimate with each other, but nobody but us two know about it, we are seen as close twins by other people.
Our morning talks have always been a good way for Ayumi to fully wake up, today we are talking about an anime series that we binge watched over the weekend, we watched a medieval style fantasy with elves and beastmen, our favourite are the rabbit beastmen, as we love the cute bunny ears.
Three seasons over Saturday and Sunday, episode one of season four will be broadcasted on Friday night, we've been so excited, that we have reread the web novel (currently there are 1,746 chapters), all 27 light novels and 22 Manga's, and as I already mentioned three seasons of the anime (each season has 13 episodes, an ova and specials).
The author recently celebrated the 5-year anniversary of the series and made a special announcement, that an anime movie is in production, and has been scheduled to be released in cinemas about a month after the season four finale has been broadcast.
Today is our first day in a new high school, and we are going to be late, this is not how I expected our first day as transfer students was going to be.
"Oh, damn it, Ayumi we've gotta run, the front gate is being closed", I hastily say while grabbing my sisters' hand, while running as fast as we can.
"Brother, we made it, we won't be sent to the principal's office, I didn't think I'd be able to keep up", Ayumi had a massive smile on her face while jumping into my arms.
"We're not out of the woods yet, first we have to find our homeroom, sis, although I've heard that our homeroom teacher is apparently supposed to be extremely nice".
After getting past the closing gate and security guard, we had no problem finding our way around the school, although first we go to our lockers (which our parents requested to be side by side), where we change our shoes for Uwabaki indoor slipper shoes, after that we made it to the classroom just as the bell rang.
While waiting outside our classroom, our homeroom teacher made a basic introduction about us, then we were asked to enter the classroom and introduce ourselves to the rest of the class.
"Mr Kurogane, Miss Kurogane, please come in and introduce yourselves to the rest of the class please", Miss Sasaki-Sensei very kindly asked.
She is a 24 year old, with shoulder length brunette hair, large green eyes, she's a Lolita, with small to medium sized breasts (B or C cup), and quite short at only 5'3", with a child-like face, which makes her look like she's around our age, this is her first teaching job, since graduating with honours at the top of her class at Tokyo University (her major was in classic and modern Japanese, and her minor was in ancient Japanese History).
I step forward first since Ayumi has problems talking in front of groups of people.
"Hi everyone, as Sasaki-Sensei said, my name is Kurogane Touya, and this is my twin sister Ayumi, she can be a little shy around new people, please be patient with her, we hope that you will accept us as classmates and hopefully as possible friends, we will be in your care, please take care of us, Ayumi, come say hello to our new classmates", I tried to alleviate some of the pressure off of Ayumi.
"I-I'm Kurogane Ayumi... N-Nice to m-m-meet everyone, please be p-patient with me, we will be in your care, please take care of us, B-Brother, what do I do now?"
The whole time Ayumi grabbed on to my arm and held on for dear life, while standing partway behind me to partially hide herself while talking to the class.
Before the teacher has a chance to talk again, I walk up to her to ask so only we can hear.
"Sasaki-Sensei, you should have been informed by the office that we require seats next to each other for personal reasons, I would like to thank you in advance for now and in the future".
"Oh, yes, I did receive a message about that, though I'm sorry to say I didn't understand it, so nothing has been arranged as of yet, although we can get in sorted for the start of class tomorrow morning" said Sasaki-Sensei.
"Me and Ayumi will need to sit at the same desk for today, until it gets sorted tomorrow, I hope that won't be a problem, as we won't be able to stay in class otherwise, sorry for the inconvenience" I explained the best I could without revealing private details.
"That shouldn't be a problem, as long as it's just for today, please go sit at any available desk, spare chairs are at the back of the class" replied Sasaki-Sensei.
"Thank you, Sensei... Ayumi, follow me... Sit here, I'll be right back".
After I thanked our homeroom teacher, I lead Ayumi to the back of the class where there was an empty desk, after Ayumi sat down, I went to get a chair from the very back of the class, Ayumi's gaze followed me nervously, I grabbed a chair and went back to my sister who seemed a little panicked, we shared a desk for the rest of the day.
We started our first lesson of the day which was Japanese Language, we got through it quite easily, we have a 10-minute break between each class, the next few classes were no problem for us as well.
When it came to lunch time, I got our bento's out, and we had lunch together at our desk, the other classmates kept looking over at the two of us all morning with confused looks on their faces.
"Ayumi, I hope you've built up an appetite, since it's time for lunch, I hope you enjoy it, I got up especially early, just to make them for us", Ayumi got a massive smile on her face when I said that.
"Thank you so much Brother, you're too good to me, I love you Brother".
Ayumi hugged and kissed me straight away on the lips, she's always shown me affection that way around others, students that noticed looked on at us in shock, we didn't take any notice of them.
"I love you too Ayumi, let's eat", then we both put our hands together and said ""thanks for the food"".
While we were eating, we kept hearing whispers like 'did they just kiss' and 'aren't they brother and sister'.
So what, if we show affection a little differently to them, a kiss is a natural show of affection, if only more people were honest with their emotions, and shown their affection, the world would be a happier place to live.
Once we finished our bento's, I cleared them away from the desk and back into my bag, I got a couple of books out, which we read for the remainder of the lunch hour.
After lunch, we had afternoon roll call, after that was finished, all of a sudden, I started hearing screams from all around me, and Ayumi asked me while shaking and gripping on to my arm like a vice.
"T-Touya, what is that, and why is it under everyone's feet?".
When I turned to where she was looking, I saw circles with intricate pattens made of what looks to be pure light, below everyone's feet, I even checked beneath me and Ayumi, and it was there too.
"I don't know what it is Ayumi, wait, is it getting brighter".
Before anyone had time to think, they got so bright that we were all momentarily blinded by the flash of light.
I took hold of Ayumi and held her as tight and as close as I possibly could, I could feel her crying.
Then all of a sudden, the flash of light dimmed and disappeared completely, after a few moments, when my vision started to come back, I noticed something very odd, it seemed darker than before, and there doesn't seem to be any windows, it seems we have moved locations, but how.
When I look around, I notice that there are some unusual people staring at all of us, who are they, and why did they bring us here?
