3 Chapter three: Rumers

I woke up and looked around the infirmary, as I did I saw Eve in the next bed asleep. He looked peaceful like that just laying there with even breaths, his hair evenly displayed going down his back as he rolled over.

I looked down and noticed my body was taped up and I could barely move and as for my sight. It's hard to see anything since everything was burly and the room was extremely dim lite; yet I could swear I saw a pink haired girl sitting there next to me. It was pretty hard to tell if I was dreaming or not until she spoke. "O-oh you're awake!" This scared the hell out of me. She smiled happily handing me my food. "Your wounds weren't too bad, some minor cuts and bruises. I mean compared to the fight and all, and with whom you did it with. losing like you did was every amazing. I mean like wow, a second or more and you could've won." This behavior was very weird to me. Everyone in this place was so nice for a bunch of killers.

She smiled at me as she scooted her chair closer to the bed. "What, were you watching the same fight I was in?" I replied to her as she sat up straight in her chair next to my bed. I tried to adjust myself Into a better position. Moving hurt so bad thus I couldn't help groan and wince from my sore body.

"Oh totally, like after he hit you with that cool fireball thingy, but after He like totally was unable to move and omg you just couldn't get up after you hit the ground! It was really." She answered "You were so like really strong, you know?" She said leaning forward a little towards me. Not gonna lie she was kinda cute, her short pink hair shined in the light and her green eyes were beautiful. Yet the way she looked at me gave me chills for some reason, her school uniform also looked a bit short to be honest..Too short.. how did they allow such a thing here.

"Who are you?" I asked her with the knowledge that we could never be friends. This place, this hell of what they called a school would destroy that but it would be nice to have a friend, to make it less hellish to be here. Someone that wasn't trying to kill me all the damn time and a cute girl at that, a guy could dream right?

She giggled at me as she leaned over even more, her lips next to my ear with her breasts in my face "My name is Mika Yuki, it's nice to meet you hehe!" Her giggle rang in my ear for a moment. My face turned red not knowing what to do so I moved my face out the way, closing my eyes to avoid the view. She smelled so good though I couldn't help but to lay there happily. She stood up hovering over me for a while until we heard Eveningwing starting to wake up.

"What happened..?" he asked looking worriedly as he looked himself over and noticed the bruises and bandages on himself, he looked back up at me irritated and confused.

"We tied.." I proclaimed out loud. "You were really good though Eve!" I thought he would be happy to hear the news; but he was the opposite. His face turned red with anger as he sat up exposing his naked chest with only a few bruises. I could see that he looked at me as if I was a different person. But definitely can see his blood is boiling for a slight shade of red is plastered on his cheeks and even ears.

"Don't get cocky, I wasn't going all out back there and if I wanted you dead I could have done the job. Pulling my punches so I would go easy on you out of pity, human." He stood up quickly not seeming to care that he was naked as I noticed every muscle in his body. Eve despite being the same height, he seemed much more toned than myself. If you don't look close enough it seemed like his muscles would tend to twitch as if it was fur moving in the wind ever so slightly and if I'm right it was. Even vibrates in waves as his temper grows, like a wolf waiting for the kill.

Mika on the other hand, had her eyes focused on other 'certain' parts of him. She blushed looking lower. Her eyes were tracing an outline that she would be saving in her mind for later. When she went back up to look at his face she noticed he was growling low at her. He snatched up his clothes in anger at this and disappeared into the nothingness of a shadow on the floor.

I was still surprised to see that happen, even though I've already seen what he could do in a fight. His technique of fighting was a balance between speed and how hard he could hit. It was incredible to see it increase each time he threw a punch. What I didn't expect was that wolf form he took after I pissed him off. 'Whatever in the living blazes was that?' I thought it wasn't possible for someone to transform their body like that other than a werewolf, yet alone to get that powerful and to think he wasn't even using his full potential. The sight of his powers were still intrancing to say the least; it was incredible, the power, the elegance it was all truly amazing. To think I actually went up against such a 'monster' in the arena only to get a tie when he could have easily killed me. I'll have to reconsider my training and get even stronger than before ever thinking about a rematch with Eve.

"Well I sure didn't realize he was such a hunk!" Mika commented putting her finger in her mouth biting it. Her cheeks red I'm sure with the thought of him on top of her.

I rolled my eyes in displeasure. "Show off.." I replied in a low mumble so that Mika didn't hear it. She didn't even turn her head to see if I said anything, as she stared at the spot he vanished from. 'Well at least she didn't hear me..' She and I sort of just hung out there for a moment. Just the two of us alone in the room, she's started teasing me every so often with her perfect eyes and body. Taking her jacket off to expose her low cut shirt that only had straps. I could see her pink lace bra through it a bit. I tried to keep my eyes focused on my hands, but I was in so much pain it was hard to focus.

We talked for a moment before she finally decided that I needed some rest and left. I layed in my bed looking up at the ceiling until I finally went back to sleep.

The next day I woke up to a little nudge on my right shoulder, my eyes flutter open and noticed it was Mika again with a glass of water in her hand. She helps lift me up to drink the water from the glass, thankfully I could at least hold it. Even though it stung my pride a little for her to do so but she seemed so helpful. She always came in checking on me, making sure I drank plenty of water and ate good amounts of food. Along with assisting me with anything I needed, she would give me that sweet smile that I was first greeted with as if it were the first time we met.

I rested in the infirmary until I was able to move on my own. Mika seemed to show up every day like on a timer. It took about three weeks until I was well enough to leave and attend classes once again. It took every ounce of power I had to get well, but I was surprised I was able to do it.

I was still taped up pretty well when I got to class, my perfect long orange hair had to be cut short to get my neck patched up and one of my eyes had to get a patch over it.

I found out that Mika was in one of my classes and I wanted to see what she would do when she saw me but someone else seemed to stop me first. She was short I'd say like five foot three inches tall with long black hair with a very small chest, and noticed she has two swords on her back. Her chest was nothing like Mika's though, she also looked small and fragile looking. Kind of like me but petite and cuter.

"Hi I'm Raven.." she said softly, her voice very light as she looked into my eyes, her voice was calm but also dead sounding. 'I wondered what her game was.' I asked myself but before I could get an answer I noticed a lot of girls looking at me and giggling as they whispered to themselves. Whenever I looked back at some of the girls they would giggle harder as they continued their little gossips.

Had I really gained this much popularity? There had to be a catch somewhere with these girls coming out of nowhere speaking about me.' I thought. To think girls would consider me a 'star' after defeating Eve.

I turned to this girl's attention and smiled back not to offend her, though I didn't know why she was here next to me "Hello to you too.. I'm Kimora." In reply to her and she looked as if she was innocent and pure yet I wondered why she was even here in this school to begin with. I mean only the really bad people end up here and this is one little girl who looked so harmless, she looked like she couldn't kill a fly.

Soon the girls who were all gossiping and whispering noticed Raven was with me and I was soon attacked by a bunch of girls. I had never been so surrounded by this many women, this was a totally different feeling than what I was used to. I mean they were everywhere with girls calling my name and grabbing at me, they were like animals and I was a fresh kill.

Then just like a flip of a switch, there was a loud snap and they all stopped as they moved to the sides to show that it was Mika who stopped the crowd and commanded them like soldiers. They whispered to one another with lowered heads as she walked up and hugged me with a smile that seemed different. "Well there you are my sweet!" she said as she looked over to Raven and I noticed a slight annoyance between the two. She gave me a beautiful smile when she looked back at me. "I was wondering if you were gonna make it to class today." She was ignoring all the angry girls who were staring at us, who all seemed to now started walking away.

The whole thing that just occured was very strange. She seemed like she knew I would be here at this very moment and in a bit of a predicament as well.

Raven didn't look amused at Mika and turned to look at me, her eyes watered up as I spoke to her to try to calm her down. But the two girls began to argue for a moment. I half listened but I got the tail end of it as I heard Mika mentioning about drowning Raven's face in a toilet..Gross.. I tried to ignore Mika's last comment but I just couldn't handle the bickering.

But before I could get a word in to break them up the bell rang for class to begin and they were cut short. Thankfully class didn't last as long as I thought it would and as soon as class was over I made sure to catch up to Raven just as she was walking out the classroom door "So.. Sorry I didn't catch that fight but.. What even happened back there?" I asked her.

"Nothing...Just know she isn't a very good friend is all.." I looked at her still unsure of what happened and the history between what I call "two tyrants". "She hates to be second in any and everything.. So don't think she likes you because in the end that's all just an act.. She only wants to get close to whoever is the strongest so she learns your weakness and when she gets her hands on you in a fight. So she can prove that she will be number one.." She stopped and looked at me with a face of "I mean business" type look and knew I had to take what she said to heart. I knew that there were those types of people here but didn't realize women can be scary and to think Mika isn't the only one who is willing to play tricks and stoop so low to get what she wants.

Before I knew it, I started to notice that Mika began following Zero and I up to the roof to eat during our lunch hours in school and in general. As if she was a lost puppy trying to find its owner, Raven was definitely right about Mika because she always talked about fights and how "fun" they looked. Every so often Zero had a comment but normally he was stuffing his face. She would even talk about Eve and someone with the title "the god-king" and how to kill different types of monsters.

Mika was always there for me, even when I kinda didn't want her to be, she somehow seemed like a real friend. We ate together, trained together, we even started to go to classes together. She helped me when I needed it. Every day she seemed very caring towards me. Others though not so much, I watched her fight and kill it seemed to make her happy to torture her opposite making them fill like dirt under her shoe.
