2 Unstable 1

"Is the meeting time and place all set?" William asked.

"Yes," his boss said. "Be there on time and you can guarantee that you'll get that raise."

"Thank you sir."

William hung up the phone and was about to put it back in his pocket, but his phone suddenly started ringing again with an "Unknown Caller" displayed on the screen. He accepts the call with some hesitation and raises it to his ear.

"Hello? Who is this?" He says, confused.

It wasn't long before the person on the other end began to speak in a fast and urgent manner. This voice however, didn't sound familiar to William at all.

"Your sins were too great for me to ignore," said a disembodied voice. "Now you must repent."

"Repent," William said a little puzzled. "What exactly are you talking abo-"

Before William could finish asking his question, the Unknown Caller hung up the phone. William couldn't call him back, so he started to feel a bit skeptical.

"Who was that?" William asked himself. "Should I report this?"

Although it sounded like a good idea, William didn't exactly know how to report it. He decided to just walk home while cautiously checking his surroundings to make sure that no one was following him.

After about ten minutes, he finally arrived at the front porch of his house and let out a huge sigh of relief. William took out his house keys and was about to unlock his door, but he noticed something that shook him to his core.

His front door was already open.

William was briefly frozen with fear, but managed to gather his courage back and started to walk inside. He made sure to grab the kitchen knife that he always keeps under his door mat.

"Who's there?" William asked through his overwhelming fear.

All the lights were off and many objects were scattered and broken all over the floor. William started to suspect a robbery, but then he suddenly remembered the strange phone call he got.

"Could it have been that Unknown Caller?" he asked himself.

Once he made it to the kitchen, he found something that sent the most sickening feeling that he had ever experienced straight down his throat.

    "Bl...ood?"

The blood came from the body of a lifeless woman laying on the ground limblessly. The expression on her face looked like something from a horror movie.

William let out a blood curdling cry filled with sorrow and fear.

    "CHARLOTTE!!!!" he screamed.

Tears filled his eyes as he held his dead wife into his arms. The emotions that swarmed in his head were almost too overwhelming for him to stay conscious. His cries were so loud that some of his neighbors across the street walked out of the house to see what was going on.

After William spent about five minutes crying over his wife, he suddenly noticed a small piece of paper on the floor. He reached over and picked it up. The paper had writing that said: "Once finished with the killing, meet others at this address…"

The address was about a fifteen minute drive from where William was at. He was about to call the cops, but he suddenly started feeling his whole body shake. His hands crunched up into a shaking red fist filled with nothing but anger and hatred. He wanted to find the people that did this and kill them himself.

"Don't worry Charlotte," William said to the corpse that was once his wife. "I'll make sure that you find peace."
